“Chris did an amazing job making my dogs feel comfortable with his presence and their routines. Our shepherd can be a little apprehensive of new people but he was licking Chris's face by day two. Also, upon our arrival home I could hardly tell that there was anyone new in our home. I will be a repeat customer of Chris's and I highly recommend his pet sitting services.”

“Crystal is amazing! She took great care of Junie while we were away and always made sure she was okay. Crystal updated us on her walks and feedings by sending pictures and texts. She went the extra mile and stayed with her on the couch to calm her nerves. I 100% recommend her to care for your pup she is awesome!”

“Kat and Dan did a great job taking care of our three dogs for a long weekend trip to VA for a relative’s memorial service. Each dog requires different food and attention and they did a wonderful job making each one feel special. We will definitely give them a call when we schedule our next trip!!”
“Samantha did a fantastic job taking care of our pets while we were out of town. We have a dog that is challenging when you first meet her, but Samantha with her calm demeanor and animal behavior experience, won our dog over and now Fiadh loves it when Samatha comes over for a walk. Samantha kept in touch with us consistently and sent plenty of pictures. We highly recommend her!”

“Amanda was great with our girl! Our pup is a bit vocal and has a few quirks; like needing doors closed, a sound machine on when we’re out, and a special diet…but Amanda handled everything. Communication was easy and consistent, and we came home to a happy pup. It’s clear she really cared, and we’ve already booked her again.”

“Zeina was amazing. Great communication, great feed back, and she did wonderfully with our animals, which is not easy! Our dog is.... weird about new people, and by the end of her time with him she was giving pets to both the dog and the cat (who is also quite standoffish). She spent so much time making sure that they were comfortable and keeping us up to date. 10/10 would call again. You just can't go wrong with Zeina!”

“Hannah took great care of our dog Gail. She’s an anxious dog but Hannah was patient with her. When we would leave Gail with previous sitters, we’ve come home to a nervous dog but she was her normal self after being cared for by Hannah!”

About: My veterinary experience has made me feel fully confident in caring for Athens' cuddly canines of all ages, including those with special medical, behavioral, or enrichment needs! Pet care is my job! This is what I do full time, so I pride myself on taking it very seriously. My routine books around what my clients schedule me for. I only visit other homes for pet care, I do not bring any pets into my own home. I generally like to meet both the owner and the pet prior to taking on any jobs with the client to make sure that both the client and pet are comfortable with me! 😊
“Mabel was so accommodating to my senior dog. She kept me updated constantly and was even flexible when I had travel delays to accommodate extending pet sitting. I can’t thank her enough! I will definitely be booking my dogs needs with Mabel in the future.”

About: I grew up with both dogs and cats and have years of hands-on experience caring for them. From high-energy dogs who need long walks to laid-back cats who just want attention and consistency. I’m confident handling different personalities and needs. I’m reliable, attentive, and committed to keeping your pet safe and comfortable. Working part time at Publix so pretty much on my off days i can stop by and check on the pets when you need me I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs to keep your pet company. I provide a safe, supervised environment and can crate your dog if needed. I always follow your pet’s routine, keep their space clean, and make sure they feel comfortable and secure.

“Lani did a great job taking care of our high-energy dog. She responded quickly, sent photos, and went the extra mile to make sure our pup was happy and well cared for. We would definitely call on her again in the future.”

About: My husband and I have owned our dogs since 2018, adopting a third in 2024. We've been fostering for a rescue for nearly 3 years- we've fostered/rehabilitated 16 dogs through adoption so far! We call them our "foster alumni" and often see them back for a weekend of pet sitting. I work a standard 9-5:30, so my availability is limited to nights and weekends. If you're nearby with a morning need, let me know and maybe we can work it out. Our pets are welcome in all parts of our home, as well as any guest dogs. We always kennel "guest" dogs when we're away. Our younger dog is still kenneled when we're gone, the older ones stay in the office. When we're here, our dogs and guest dogs have a fenced in front and back yard to play in, an easy neighborhood to walk in, and can take their pick from the toy bin in the living room.

“Jackson was great with our 3 srong willed boys. They were very calm when we returned and were well taken care of and the house was left in good order. We will definitely book Jackson again.”
“I could not recommend Alexis more highly. She took great care of my dog and cat while I was away and sent me daily updates and pictures. She is caring and professional and I will definitely be using her services again.”

About: I grew up on a farm taking care of dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, and bunnies my whole life. I feel very comfortable around all types of animals and know very well on how to take care of them properly. I’m a student at UGA now and working towards graduating this May. My homework has slowed down a lot and I am looking for ways to make extra cash with my free time. I will take care of your pets safely in your home—cleaning up after their messes, taking them out at appropriate times, and playing with them.

About: I have taken care of both dogs and cats for a week+ on end. As well, I have two large dogs at home and two cats. One of my cats has diabetes, and so I am comfortable with giving him his insulin as well. I am currently a full time student, but other than class I am available to take care of your pets! The best times of days for me to stop by are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, as well as the afternoons every day. In your home, I love playing with lots of toys with your pets (I have two big dogs at home) as well as I love going on long walks (bonus if your pet has a lot of energy!) I also love just sitting and being company- I always have homework and love having a buddy to sit with me
About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life and would love to help you care for your dog. I currently have an 8 year old rescue named Xander and a 4 year old rescue named Lucy. I work at Dental Sleep Medicine of Athens from 8-5 (sometimes later but only Tuesdays and Wednesdays) Monday-Thursday. I am available any other time, including all nights and weekends. I do not have a fenced yard but will happily walk/feed/play with your dog at your place. My 2 dogs stay inside with me and I walk them daily.
“Jade is fantastic! She took care of my lovely dog Maple for 4 days of Labor Day. She sent me photos of my baby everyday and checked in with me often. I will definitely be hiring Jade again!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Attica walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Attica maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Attica choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Attica. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
