“Dan & Kat took care of our babies for a week and it went awesome! In the past, one of our boys has had anxiety when we've left and had accidents. Not so this time! Our two dogs and cat loved Dan & Kat and we wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. From the meet and greet to being flexible on our dogs' schedules and daily updates, everything was absolutely perfect.”

“Mabel was so accommodating to my senior dog. She kept me updated constantly and was even flexible when I had travel delays to accommodate extending pet sitting. I can’t thank her enough! I will definitely be booking my dogs needs with Mabel in the future.”

“Lani did a great job taking care of our high-energy dog. She responded quickly, sent photos, and went the extra mile to make sure our pup was happy and well cared for. We would definitely call on her again in the future.”

“Samantha did a fantastic job taking care of our pets while we were out of town. We have a dog that is challenging when you first meet her, but Samantha with her calm demeanor and animal behavior experience, won our dog over and now Fiadh loves it when Samatha comes over for a walk. Samantha kept in touch with us consistently and sent plenty of pictures. We highly recommend her!”

“Ashely stayed in our home with our animals while we were out of town, and did a great job! Our house was left tidy and our animals appear happy and safe. She was great at sending pictures and communicating what was going on while we were gone. I felt safe having her in our home and with our pets who we love like family. Will definitely be booking her for many vacations to come!”

“As first-time Rover users, we were initially nervous, but Taryn immediately set our minds at ease. She warmly suggested a meet-and-greet to ensure it was a good fit for us and our pets. While we were away, Taryn was excellent with communication, checking in upon arrival and sending regular photos and updates. Coming home was a delight; our house was spotless, our dogs were happy, fed, and well-exercised, and Taryn had even thoughtfully started a load of household linens in the wash. We have no doubt our animals adored her and received the very best care. We will absolutely be asking Taryn to return!”

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs of my own and those belonging to friends and family for years. I have no problem feeding, exercising, playing with, and cleaning up after cats and dogs. I also have experience dispensing medicine and caring for sick cats and dogs. I’m currently working part time, but I should have lots of time off this upcoming month (July/August). I can pet sit on busy days as long as owner is comfortable with me possibly leaving for hours at a time. In my home, I like to keep my cat inside. My back yard is fenced in for our dog. I try my best to keep the house clean and orderly to avoid any potential danger for my pets, and would do the same for yours. For walking, leashes are always a must.
About: On top of personally having several pets since I was a child, I have also volunteered at local Animal Shelters during my spare time. It is fun spending time with pets of all types and bring joy to my life! I have worked from home for the last 5 years. This makes it extremely convenient to take pups out for a walk and also spend time with them during the day. I always ensure food and water bowls are filled on schedule or as needed per pup. I know how nerve wracking it can be worrying if doors were locked or crates shut all the way so I ensure these are secure before leaving the home.
About: My husband and I have owned our dogs since 2018, adopting a third in 2024. We've been fostering for a rescue for nearly 3 years- we've fostered/rehabilitated 16 dogs through adoption so far! We call them our "foster alumni" and often see them back for a weekend of pet sitting. I work a standard 9-5:30, so my availability is limited to nights and weekends. If you're nearby with a morning need, let me know and maybe we can work it out. Our pets are welcome in all parts of our home, as well as any guest dogs. We always kennel "guest" dogs when we're away. Our younger dog is still kenneled when we're gone, the older ones stay in the office. When we're here, our dogs and guest dogs have a fenced in front and back yard to play in, an easy neighborhood to walk in, and can take their pick from the toy bin in the living room.

“I had a very long day and night at work and I needed someone last minute to come to my house and stay with my puppy dachshund. She's amazing with communication and I already knew she was going to be a great fit. BELLA loved her and I felt so safe and comfortable leaving. I got picture updates often along with check ins. If Michella is available, I'll only use her to watch Bella at my place. Thanks again Michelle!! You're Great!!”

About: With years of hands-on experience, I raised a Chihuahua for 6 years, developing a deep understanding of small dog care. Currently, I volunteer at the Humane Society and actively work with the Guide Dog Foundation at UGA, supporting dogs with specialized training needs. Whether your pup needs basic care, advanced attention, or a loving companion, I'm here to provide exceptional support tailored to their unique needs. 🐾 Pet care is a top priority in my daily and weekly routine. I am flexible and happy to work around your schedule to ensure your pet gets the attention and care they deserve. Whether it's walks, feeding, playtime, or special care, I’ll coordinate with you to meet your pet's needs. If there’s ever a conflict with my availability, I’ll communicate with you promptly to find a solution. Your pet’s happiness and well-being always come first! 🐾 In my home, I provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment with plenty of space for your pet to relax and play. I maintain a consistent routine, including feeding, walks, and playtime, tailored to your pet’s needs. When caring for pets in your home, I ensure they stay comfortable in their familiar surroundings. I follow your instructions closely, from feeding schedules to medication and specific care routines. I also send regular updates with photos so you can feel at ease knowing your furry friend is happy and cared for. 🐾

About: Hi, I'm Emily! I have loved animals my entire life, growing up with a sweet toy poodle who taught me the ins and outs of attentive pet care. Today, I am the proud Mom of an energetic 11-month-old bernedoodle, so i am highly experienced with puppy energy, training routines, and keeping active dogs happy and stimulated. I currently work full time early mornings so I am free after 4pm during the week. My weekends are wide open to care for your pup. I currently will not be accepting house sitting in my home. I prefer to go to the client's home where the pup feels the most comfortable and secure.
“Hannah took great care of our dog Gail. She’s an anxious dog but Hannah was patient with her. When we would leave Gail with previous sitters, we’ve come home to a nervous dog but she was her normal self after being cared for by Hannah!”

About: I have taken care of both cats and dogs growing up. I have always enjoyed playing with them and going out on walks. In addition I have experience bathing, grooming, and feeding them. Moreover I have volunteer experience cleaning up after and feeding animals at Sweet Olive Farm. I am working part time, however I should be free most weekend days for check ins or dog walking. I will also be available on weekends for dog sitting. Having pets growing up I would always ensure they had enough water and would feed them on their regular schedule. But most importantly I believe all pets need enrichment time. For house sitting I will uphold this standard. For walks I will make sure they get to sniff to their hearts content.
“Sophia is wonderful! She instantly connected with my senior dog and took special favor to her needs. Sophia didn't even flinch with med requirements and was an overall champion for the experience. Look no further when booking.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Whitehall
Raina was exemplary! She took great care of our of menagerie (dogs, cats, and fish), leaving them healthy and happy. She followed every instruction we left! Amazing. Smart and kind! I loved her updates with fun pix of our fur babies. They completely accepted her as their new adopted mom! It was comforting to know she was enjoying them, too. This was the best puppy-and-cat babysitting experience we've ever had. We will definitely hire her again and again. She feels like family now, and I'm sure the animals agree :)

We have booked with Tameron several times to watch our kitties, and this was our first time having Tameron watch our dog as well. We had to leave town on short notice, and Tameron was so gracious and worked with us to make sure our babies were cared for. We cannot speak highly enough of Tameron, her communication, and knowledge of animals and their behaviors. We will continue to book with Tameron in the future!

soraya was great with Kulfi. Took care of all her needs. Worked around her schedule. Cleaned up after herself. I did in house sitting for kulfi and she kept my place nice and tidy just like I left it. Would definitely recommend to others and use her services again to take care of my baby.

Amelia is absolutely amazing. I am definitely going to use her again as she took great care of our dog Maple. Everything from walks to treats and she wrote me the most kind, sincere letter on when I returned home about dropping my son off a college. A real class act in my book, thank you Amelia!

This was our first time using Rover. Lyss was so great about coming and meeting our dogs before we confirmed. I love the interaction she had with them and her questions showed she really cared. She took great care of them and we are definitely going to be using her in the future!

Ashtyn was wonderful! She watched Lenny over the weekend while I was out of town and kept me updated with the cutest photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. She communicated clearly, asked questions when needed, and took great care of him. I came home to a happy pup and a clean house — such a nice bonus. I felt completely comfortable the entire time and would absolutely book her again. Highly recommend!

We are beyond grateful for the incredible care our dog and cat received. From the moment we met, it was clear how kind, responsible, and genuinely loving they are with animals. We had complete peace of mind knowing our pets were safe, happy, and well cared for. The updates and photos were so appreciated and showed just how comfortable our pets were. We couldn’t have asked for a better caregiver and would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional pet care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Whitehall on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 611 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Whitehall. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitehall walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitehall maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitehall choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitehall. On Rover:
- 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
