“Sadie was sooo wonderful!! She was extremely accommodating for a last minute booking. She provided updates throughout the day and my baby looked so happy and comfortable, so much that when I went to pick him up, he was happy with staying there to play more! Thank you so much for taking such great care of my boy!!”

“Mary is the perfect Rover for us. We left Corby, our yorkie-mix with Mary and never worried once. We knew she missed her two little dogs and would spoil Corby. He had a great time in her fenced in yard and made himself right at home on the sofa and checking out the activity outside. A quiet country setting Corby will be visiting every time we go away. She sent us picture updates and notes.”

“Carolyn was great! My dog seemed to have a great time and enjoyed her sweet pup! She was very accommodating with drop off and pick up times. Carolyn sent pictures to keep us at ease as it was Paddington's first time with her. I would definitely recommend!!”

“Julia is a lifesaver! We had just adopted our dog and found out he has some serious separation anxiety. She met us for a meet and greet that night and she welcomed him to dog daycare the next day. Her and her boyfriend are a great team and our dog loves them and their dog! Highly recommend”

“Kassandra and Johnathan were great with our Puppy Leo! He is a big ball of energy and they were great with him and he loved playing with their dog Charlie. I would recommend to anyone in the area and will definitely bring Leo back when we need boarding again!”

“This was was my senior cat’s very first boarding and it couldn’t have gone better! Dionna was so kind and gentle with him and checking in with me each day with pictures. When I brought my cat home he acted as if nothing ever happened, no stress, etc. I would definitely use Dionna’s services again!”

“Peg was so kind to watch Bogey this weekend when our sitter plans had fallen through last minute. It had been several months since Bogey stayed with Peg, but he was immediately excited when we arrived and rushed toward the house. He loved playing with her pups and the other dogs in the fenced in backyard. I appreciated Peg’s periodic updates during the stay. Highly recommend - your pup will be in great hands!”

“Lauren was a thoughtful and lovely sitter for my newly adopted elder dog. She even gave me tips on how to care for him better. She was attentive with contact during his stay and he was sad to leave her.”

“Amazing stay! Our regular sitter was out of town for the holiday weekend so I reached out to Taylor with a last minute request. Very fast response. I was kept updated with photos and activities. Molly came home exhausted and happy! Thank you so much Taylor. We will definitely keep you at the top of our list for Molly.”

“From the first contact Kennadi was very responsive and accomodating. We are very selective about who we have watch our dog and were very comfotable with Kennadi and her husband Tyler. You can tell they are real animal lovers and very caring. We would definitely use them again.”

“Laurie was tremendous!!! She took wonderful care of my older cat Prudence. She kept me updated and gave her her medicine. Laurie is so warm and kind and easy to coordinate with. I couldn’t recommend her enough if you want to be sure your pet is happy, and cosy, and cared for :)”

“Took great care of my pup! Was willing to accommodate his special needs. Received lots of updates and pictures. My pup had a great time and was well loved. Will be booking again in the future.”

“Addy is a wonderful sitter for my 3 yo old mini goldendoodle. She is very attentive and her home is nice with a beautiful fenced in yard. He got some treats and nice walks on nearby trails. She sent photos as requested. I would definitely book her again!”

“Laura and Tyler were great with my dog! He has pretty bad separation anxiety which makes it very difficult to leave him new places. Laura was awesome about introducing her dogs one by one and letting him get accustomed to her dogs and her home. She tried different areas to see where he would be most comfortable and really put time and effort into getting him to relax and be comfortable. She kept me up to date and make me feel a lot better about where he was and how he was doing. I would definitely use them again when we're in the Adirondacks!”
About: I grew up with all different kinds of animals as a child, and I had my own dog, which was a Yorkie. I know how to take care of dogs with disabilities and extreme anxiety as I dealt with that with my own dog. I genuinely love all dogs and I can’t wait to be able to have one of my own but for now dog sitting/dog boarding is just what fits with my life. I recently helped take care of a 6 month old puppy in the city even helping with training. I also took care of my roommates 2 Australian shepherds this summer (1 of them does not do well with other dogs at all) and so I had to be extremely careful when taking them on walks/keeping tight hold on the leash. I work from home every day of the week and I have pretty flexible hours and ample time to take care/walk dogs. I would love to have a dog in my own butt unfortunately, New York City is expensive and I thought this was a great way to interact with dogs without having to own one myself. I live right next to a park which I can take the dogs to multiple times per day. I’m also a morning person and love to go for runs and walks before work and if I have a dog staying with me, I would be more than happy to bring them with me.
“We had a wonderful experience leaving our pup with Karen. She made us feel completely comfortable and most importantly Lulu was happy! We got frequent updates, Lulu got many walks and we couldn’t be happier with the care she received. Will def book again with Karen!”

“Cab is so nice and easy to work with and Lola loves going over there! We even ran into Cab on the Beltline one (extremely crowded) afternoon and I thought Lola was going to break the leash trying to get over to her to say hello. Definitely recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hudson Falls
Stephanie took wonderful care of our Chihuahua, Ms Hazel Nut Mutt Face (aka Hazel) while we were visiting family in the area. I was a little apprehensive about leaving our pup with someone we hadn't met before, but as soon as we met Stephanie and saw how kind, gentle, and caring she was, I immediately felt at ease. She kept us updated throughout our pup's stay with frequent communication and adorable photos, which gave us great peace of mind. We were so pleased with the care she provided that we'll definitely be booking with Stephanie again whenever we visit family in the area. I highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
