“Laura and Tyler were great with my dog! He has pretty bad separation anxiety which makes it very difficult to leave him new places. Laura was awesome about introducing her dogs one by one and letting him get accustomed to her dogs and her home. She tried different areas to see where he would be most comfortable and really put time and effort into getting him to relax and be comfortable. She kept me up to date and make me feel a lot better about where he was and how he was doing. I would definitely use them again when we're in the Adirondacks!”
“Our pup loves her stays with Julia. Julia is always quick to respond and takes great care of Juju. Her dogs get along very well with mine and they have a good setup with a lot of space for my dog to be active.”

“Nancy and her son took great care of Bruce when he came to stay with them. Bruce had such a great time as was obvious in the photos we received and how comfortable he was when we came to pick him up. After an initial confusion at drop off, Nancy quickly clarified and reassured me of the plans and following that Bruce just had the best time.”

“Kelly was amazing with our puppy! We loved all of pictures and updates throughout the day. Kelly took Avery on a bunch of walks, trips to the park, and gave her loads of attention and loving to keep her happy and comfortable! We look forward to having Kelly take care of our pup again in the future!”

“Our black lab, Lager stayed 3 nights and 1 day and we could not be happier. We had great communication with pictures/videos and they handled him with 2 days of monsoon rain - not easy with a lab! Both Sheri and Connie were great and we highly recommend! Lager's booked for a day next week and we are so happy we found such a great home (away from home) for him! Thank you so much.”

“Even though this was short notice, Jillian was excellent with Ezra! She sent videos, photos, and updates about what was going on during the night and day. I felt at peace knowing my boy was in great hands. If you're looking for a responsible, loving, caring sitter, look no further.”

“Took great care of my pup! Was willing to accommodate his special needs. Received lots of updates and pictures. My pup had a great time and was well loved. Will be booking again in the future.”

“Dionna is a fantastic sitter! So glad to have found her. She has such love and care for animals. Her communication was fantastic and I appreciated all the photo & video updates while we were away.”

“Excellent care and very responsive. Blue was so happy when we picked him up. He looked relaxed and well taken care of. We highly recommend Lauren and the location is fantastic.”

“Addy is the sweetest and has taken wonderful care of our dog Sage while we were working out of town. Her communication, photos and kind nature make her easy to work with on Rover and exceptional to have such a genuine and great individual hanging out and give our pup extra love when we’re gone. She has a way of connecting with dogs that makes them very comfortable and she definitely goes above and beyond to make it an awesome experience, thank you so much Addy. We look forward to booking with you again!! :) -Lucy, Mike & Sage”

“Excellent experience with Samantha, kept us updated several times a day with pictures and text messages on our our girl was doing. Samantha was very attentive.”

“I was 13 hours away with very limited service while my puppys current sitter didn't want to watch her anymore after a day of having her. This was coco's first time being away from home and is still a puppy... With the help of rovers emergency line, we found Laurie! She took coco in last minute. Im extremely thankful for her and would definitely book another stay in the future!”
“We had a wonderful experience leaving our pup with Karen. She made us feel completely comfortable and most importantly Lulu was happy! We got frequent updates, Lulu got many walks and we couldn’t be happier with the care she received. Will def book again with Karen!”

“Staying with Lorraine was an absolute blessing for my Penny! Lorraine loves dogs and it shows! Penny got lots of love and attention, and I’ve been getting daily updates, pictures, and videos from Lorraine. Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Taylor was responsive in a timely manner, provided freedom for the dogs to play and exhaust themselves, and really great with animals. We will continue to use Taylor and recommend her to everyone we know. Thanks!”

“Cab is so nice and easy to work with and Lola loves going over there! We even ran into Cab on the Beltline one (extremely crowded) afternoon and I thought Lola was going to break the leash trying to get over to her to say hello. Definitely recommend!”

About: I love all animals!!! I really enjoy coming to your house and playing with your precious babies. I have cared for a variety of animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, birds, turtles, and yes even snakes. I’ve even experienced breeding and nurturing 11 golden retrievers (3 adults and 8 puppies) at one time. I will come to your house to LOVE, feed, water, play, brush, walk, talk to, and even car rides with your beautiful pets. I’ve also been known to mop, water your plants, retrieve your mail, and take your garbage to the street. On numerous occasions, I’ve taken on jobs in Massachusetts and Vermont as mini vacations! I have a bubbly and friendly personality that animals respond well too! Reasonable rates, flexible hours, and many satisfied customers! I am retired from the county, which allows me to provide full time care to all my fury friends! I travel distances to watch your babies and occasionally welcome your pet to stay at my house. My goal is to watch pups in their own environment. It’s always difficult when Mom and Dad go away, but they are definitely less stressed if they get to stay home. This way they can feel safe and comfortable in their own surroundings

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
