“You are absolutely fantastic dog sitters. Thank you for sharing the pictures and how our Darcy girl is right at home in your home. We laughed so hard that she was helping you with your chores. 😊”

“Words can not express how thankful I was to have met John on this app. My baby is an old girl with special needs. She wears a diaper and enjoys a calm, quiet atmosphere. Thank you so much for the daily pictures and communication. I am most thankful for the confident feeling I had through my trip. Knowing my sweet girl was well cared for. Highly recommend. Thanks John”

“Mary is the perfect Rover for us. We left Corby, our yorkie-mix with Mary and never worried once. We knew she missed her two little dogs and would spoil Corby. He had a great time in her fenced in yard and made himself right at home on the sofa and checking out the activity outside. A quiet country setting Corby will be visiting every time we go away. She sent us picture updates and notes.”

“I cannot rate Addy highly enough. She was very communicative with my sometimes reactive pup. She gave me daily updates with photos. The best review, though, is as my girl looking so happy in all the photos. Will definitely book again!”

“Rebecca and her sweet little family are delightful. She is so thoughtful and loving. She sent lots of pictures for me and assured me Duke was in great hands. I will absolutely use her again!”

“Even though this was short notice, Jillian was excellent with Ezra! She sent videos, photos, and updates about what was going on during the night and day. I felt at peace knowing my boy was in great hands. If you're looking for a responsible, loving, caring sitter, look no further.”

“This was our first time boarding our puppy and she did great with Jen! Jen was very responsive and flexible as our travel plans changed. She sent plenty of pictures and we could tell our girl was having a blast playing with all the other pups. Would definitely recommend and will book with Jen again know the future.”

“Samantha took my dog for the weekend when I went out of town. She kept me updated throughout his stay and took some great photos of my not so photogenic dog. I would recommend her!!”

“Thank you Kathy for a wonderful experience taking care of my Gentle Giant Aston. I loved all the pictures of him enjoying all of the toys and his relaxing stay with you. Just what my old boy loves. Hopefully he is welcome back to your home in the future.”

“Ella was great! She was super easy to reach, and she provided updates and photos while boarding our doggo, Tots. We will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future! 10/10 in all departments”

About: I grew up on a farm, which gave me hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals, including horses, pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, cows, and various small animals. From a young age, I’ve always had dogs and cats in my home, and animal care has been a constant part of my life. “Cab was a dream! She was super flexible with our crazy schedule and sent daily photos and updates. She was wonderfully kind and understanding even when our pup got sick. So grateful for her!”

“Alissa was wonderful! Great communications before and during our booking. Darla really seemed to enjoy the fenced yard and playing with Rugby and Alissa’s boys. Alissa was very accommodating with our drop off and pickup times. We traveled to the Lake George area from out of state and Alissa made everything work seamlessly with our schedule. She also sent updates and photos which really helped put my mind at ease. Thank you Alissa! When back in Lake George we will definitely”

“Sadie was absolutely wonderful. I was very nervous leaving my pup August and she was very communicative, sent lots of pictures, and August came home happy and healthy. I would highly recommend Sadie to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter for their fur baby.”

“Very accommodating on a busy holiday weekend. Thankful for the great care given to our two dogs and the picture updates we received while away. Beautiful location off country road with big yard/walking areas that made it seem like home. Knowing they were being well cared for allowed us to enjoy our Son’s wedding without concerns of them being in a high capacity kennel situation. Thanks Again !!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Glens Falls
We left our dog with Hannah for an extended weekend and she was very diligent at sending updates of our dog Cooper. In every photo, he was smiling from ear to ear. It was evident she was out playing with the pups all day and we are so grateful for the above and beyond efforts to entertain our high energy pup. We highly recommend Hannah!

This was our second booking with Stephanie. She was very accommodating with our dog. It was so helpful that she dropped the dog at our home just as we arrived back home. Our dog arrived happy and well cared for. Stephanie has been reliable, a good communicator, and flexible with each of our bookings. We couldn't ask for a better fit!!

We boarded Vader and Coco for a full week, and we couldn't be happier with the care they received. It’s a long time to be away, but Sue made them feel right at home. They settled in perfectly and were clearly well-loved the entire time. We came home to two very happy pups!

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
