About: I have been caring for primarily dogs and cats since high school and have always been a reliable and responsible care giver. I have grown up with 2 large German Shepards and can handle all sizes of furry friends. I create a comforting and safe environment for all pets that I am responsible for (: My schedule is for the most part free and I am available very often depending on the service. Weekends and weekdays are flexible and very manageable. In all clients homes I make it a high priority to respect the owners and the furry friends safe space! I understand furry friends may be sensitive to new humans in their homes so I always remain patient and gracious for them to adapt.

About: Hey there! My name’s Anika and I love spending my time with animals. :) I’ve been pet-sitting for the past year or so for different people in my neighborhood and have helped so, sooo many animals and people with their pets over the course of my life! I started asking myself what field of work I could see myself doing regularly while also working on the skills I’d like to develop, and being around and taking care of animals wins every time. My family in Chicago adopted my dog over 10 years ago now, I adopted a cat that I’ve had with me in LA for the last 2 years and I grew up with birds! I even had a fish for a very brief period of time before passing it along to someone else. Ensuring that my pets are always safe is my no.1 priority, I am constantly googling things to make sure everything is alright and up-to-date with them. I also work mostly from home- I own my own Airbnb business which I can do from anywhere which allows me to be at home with them often. I am also a musician so have to travel for that from time to time, but usually not for extended periods of time, just for a few hours in the day/ night. I love nature and all living things and will do everything in my power to make sure your babies are happy, safe and entertained with me! As of right now, I take care of 2 of my neighbors pets whenever they need me to. I just got done with baby sitting for my upstairs neighbor Kate over the last 3 weeks. Her frenchie mo is the sweetest boy ever, we went on walks every day, I fed him salmon, put in his ear medicine nightly and massaged his hind legs. When we weren’t outside or playing some sort of game/ activity, we were just chilling with one another while I worked on my laptop. I’m able to be with your per as much as needed, and more than just take care of them, I make sure to bond with every animal I interact with and give them plenty of love so they don’t feel the lack of your presence 🥺 At the end of the day, they’re all just lil babies. I am able to stay anywhere for any period of time as long as I am able to earn more than my monthly rent during said duration. I live with my cat in an apartment with 3 other roommates, a dog and another cat. I’m able to have pets here during the day time because we have a backyard, movie room, gym and co-working space but it gets challenging at night because there’s not really a place for them to sleep since my cat sleeps in my room. I’m down to do absolutely anything it takes to make sure that your loved one is okay while you’re away.

The rest of the week, I'm able to devote my attention to your pet(s). I'm available to start petsitting in the mornings or evenings during weekdays or at any time during the weekend. I'm available for petsitting at your place or taking your pet(s) out for walks. I'll respect your house rules especially when it comes to established boundaries your pet(s) follow (like staying off beds or couches). I want to ensure they feel their routine is disrupted as little as possible while their loved ones are away.

“Alex did an amazing job looking after my two cats for multiple trips that I took in December and January. She sent me plenty of photos and updates and communicated with me consistently and reliably. Most importantly, she genuinely seemed to like my cats! My last trip was long so she stayed overnights as one of my cats is very needy and gets stressed when on his own for too long. He immediately took to Alex and was glued to her for most of her stay. She took amazing care of both my kitties and was understanding and accepting of my other cat’s boundaries and need for space. In addition, she was kind enough to feed 5 feral cats that I care for in my back yard. My apartment was just as I left it when I got back - garbage taken out, dishes washed, blankets folded etc. Little things but makes such a difference when you’re tired after coming home from a long day of travel. I will definitely be reaching out to Alex for future trips! She is wonderful!”

You can absolutely trust Monica with the care of your pets. She provided daily updates and pictures and communication was great. My dogs typically don't have much of an appetite when I'm out of town, so seeing pictures of them eating and coming home to empty bowls shows me how comfortable they were with Monica. She even tidied up the house before leaving. I highly recommend!”
