Hilda was great! Very punctual and she walked a full 30 minutes after we had a short meet and greet. She took lots of pictures and had some interesting insights we discussed when she brought him back. Meeting new people can be challenging for Odie but he was totally ok with her by the end of the walk.

About: I’ve never not had pets in my life! I’ve cared for a wide variety of pets, young and old, traditional pets and more exotic ones. I don’t mind caring for any type of pet— if it’s your baby, it’ll be mine too for a bit! Currently I have completely open availability! Some weekends I do theatre productions but those weekends are few and far between. I’m also a night owl and am open to care for your pets at all odd hours of the day or night. Routine is key for your pets. As a sitter, it is my responsibility to ensure your babies still follow their routine as if you were still at home. I have experience with more complex routines or routines that involve medication as well!

About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats with a wide range of ages, sizes, personalities, and care needs. Everything from individual pets to large multi-pet households. I’m experienced with puppies, senior dogs and cats, large and active breeds, shy or anxious pets, separation anxiety, medication routines, and animals that need extra patience, exercise, enrichment, or companionship. I’m confident managing homes where several pets have different feeding schedules, personalities, and routines, and I anlways adapt my care to the individual animal. Animals are also a huge part of my everyday life. At home, I have two dogs and seven rescue cats, along with two horses, a miniature donkey, and chickens. My broader animal-care background also includes experience with birds, reptiles, fish, and farm animals, along with extensive plant care. Caring for such a wide variety of animals has made being observant, organized, and attentive to the little details second nature to me. My background also includes an advanced college-level Animal Science course and a Veterinary Medicine course, both completed with an A+ average. I’m comfortable administering oral medications and subcutaneous injections when provided with clear instructions. I also worked for two years as the head equine manager at a therapy barn and have trained horses for five years. That experience taught me to stay calm and confident, read body language carefully, recognize subtle signs of stress or discomfort, and adjust my handling to the animal in front of me. When you leave your pets with me I want you to be able to enjoy your time away without worrying about what is happening at home. I follow feeding, medication, exercise, and household instructions closely, send regular photos and updates, and make an effort to keep your pets’ routine as normal as possible. I also take caring for your home seriously and keep pet areas and the home clean and organized. Detailed instructions and multi-step routines don’t overwhelm me. Having the information I need to care for your pets exactly the way you want is my priority. Animals have always been a major part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is getting to know each animal’s individual personality and earning their trust. Some pets want lots of playtime and activity, while others are happiest with quiet companionship or need a little extra patience before they feel comfortable with someone new. My goal is for every pet in my care to feel safe, understood, happy, and very well loved until their family comes home. Animal care is already a major part of my daily routine, and I currently have a very flexible schedule. I am available for early mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight stays, weekends, holidays, and many last-minute requests. I am a part time student and attend classes from 9am-11am Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 10am-1pm Tuesday and Thursday. Safety, consistency, and communication are my top priorities. Every pet has different needs, and I take the time to learn their routine, personality, exercise requirements, medications, and any special instructions before care begins. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, multi-pet households, separation anxiety, oral medications, and subcutaneous injections. During house sitting, I stay offer to stay overnight and spend as much time as possible with your pets, only leaving when necessary for classes, work, errands, or other commitments. I am happy to bring in mail and packages, water plants, take out trash, and help maintain your home while you’re away. I provide regular photo updates and communication so you always know how your pets are doing. I treat every home with respect and strive to leave it exactly as I found it. Whether your pet is energetic, anxious, senior, medically involved, or simply has a detailed routine, I am committed to providing patient, attentive, and reliable care.

Emma did a great job taking care of our two dogs. She sent plenty of photos and some commentary on their outing that gave me a good idea of their daily walk encounters and other things going on like the weather, the ground conditions and how successfully the dogs finished their usual business. Emma demonstrates a good knowledge of and rapport with animals and reported that even my shy dog Harper warmed up to her during their time together. The dogs were happy and well upon our return so we are pleased with Emma's service while we were away. We would happily rebook Emma for any future animal care needs.

If I had to describe John in one word, it would be “amazing.” We are new to Dallas and needed someone to walk our two dogs on very short notice, and John was kind enough to step in and help. Our dogs are not difficult, but they definitely have their own personalities. One is a 120 lb German Shepherd who loves chasing squirrels (and climb trees to meet their families), rabbits, and sometimes even butterflies, and he also thinks he needs to make friends with every dog he sees. Our other one is an 18 lb Shih Tzu who is a little pampered and does not like walking in the sun. What really stood out to us was how patient, caring, and thoughtful John was with both of them. During the first couple of days, when our Shih Tzu decided he was done walking after finishing his business, John actually picked him up and carried him while continuing the walk because our German Shepherd still wanted more time outside. For the last few days, he even walked them separately so each of them could get the individual attention they needed. That level of care says a lot about John. He was always on time, courteous, respectful, responsible, and genuinely loving toward our dogs. We are very thankful for his help and would definitely look forward to having him take care of our boys again in the future.

Caitlyn did very good with Oreo! It was our first time trying to see if he’d do good with a dog walker and with no fault to Caitlyn, he did not. He was shy and very scared and not a fan of the idea. However, Caitlyn tried very hard to slowly work with him and kept me updated on the experience. I found it best to just leave him be as it was just a trial run and it helped me realize it is not for him! But I am very thankful for Caitlyn’s patience and kindness towards him and would recommend her for your pet!! She really cares about the animals she is working with.

About: My daughter and I have had boxers for 30 years. We always get them when they are babies so I have been thru the good and Rockie times and love every minute. I am the retired point in my life so I have the time and the love to give each pet that I have the chance to be with. I am currently retired and have many open days to care for your babies. I have my daughter's dog a lot and she is great with all dogs. I have a decent size yard for play time. I also keep my daughter's boxer a lot and have a huge crate already here if needed

She also cares for our dogs like her own and keeps them well taken care of 😊 I will say this is the best decision for our home to have a dog sitter/walker help us while we are away at work. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
