About: We lost our sweet Blue (11 year old labradoodle) 3 years ago of bone cancer, and have recently become empty nesters. We LOVE dogs, and our cat has missed his canine companion. Our yard is over an acre, and includes a wooded area. We are also located near beautiful trails that we can walk to. Both of us work from home the majority of the time, and we will only open our home up to furry house guests if we are sure that at least one of us is available to be home the majority of the day. Your dog will love the extra love and attention that they will receive, and we tend to be a bit lenient with letting dogs on furniture/beds. Most of our neighbors own dogs, and there are young children next door. That being said, a dog that is friendly with other dogs and not wary of children would LOVE a vacation with us. I am working part time, and my husband works at least 1/2 of the time from home. We are flexible with dog schedules, and have experience with "elderly" dogs with special needs. We have a large yard (over an acre), which is not fenced in. Our neighborhood connects to walking trails and parks, so your dog will have ample exercise opportunities. We are extremely flexible with our schedules, and can adapt to meet your dog's current routines.

About: Animals have always been a part of my life. I’ve cared for cats since childhood, regularly looked after a spirited but lovable German Shepherd, and spent time around various animals including livestock. Currently, I work at a premium dog kennel and daycare, where I’ve gained valuable experience managing dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities. What truly sets me apart is my deep rooted love and comfort around animals. I connect with them easily and genuinely enjoy their company more than anything else. Their well-being is always my first priority. My work schedule can vary between 6 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., but pet care still fits naturally into my routine. I work at a dog kennel/daycare, which gives me the unique ability to bring dogs with me if I have a long shift or if they need all-day supervision. Dogs are evaluated for daycare, and if they’re not comfortable around others, they’ll go into private play—where they get one-on-one outdoor time every few hours. The accommodations include beds, water bowls, and even free dog food if needed. I cover the cost myself, so your pet’s comfort and care are always a priority. We also offer baths at my work, which could come in handy for some dog owners. Since I’m unable to bring pets into my home, I offer in-home sitting and care. I believe the best care comes from following the pet owner’s instructions closely—no one knows their pet better than they do. I’m here to provide exactly what they feel is best for their pet’s comfort and routine. Through my work at a professional dog kennel, I’ve gained valuable experience recognizing signs of stress or discomfort in animals. If a pet seems uneasy with me or their environment, I adjust immediately to ensure they feel safe and secure. Additionally, if you're a beginner pet parent with any questions or concerns about caring for your pet, I’m happy to offer guidance and advice to help you feel confident in your role as a pet owner.

We were so happy to find Samantha to watch our 3 cats for a week recently. She was very professional, trustworthy, and friendly. She was great at communicating throughout the booking process, at our meet and greet, and while we were away. I felt very comfortable leaving our cats in her care. Each of our cats is on a different diet for medical reasons and she was very conscientious about their needs. We could tell from the daily photos she sent that the kitties loved her visits and the attention she gave them. We looked forward to her Rover Card updates everyday. We would not hesitate to recommend Samantha and will definitely call on her in the future. Thank you so much, Samantha!

Maisie can be a shy girl sometimes but she took to Katie right away when Katie came for the meet-and-greet before setting up the recurring visits. That made me feel secure right there. It's a weight off my mind to know someone reliable, kind and caring is looking in on my little ones.

About: I have been a dedicated animal lover and pet owner my entire life. My experience is rooted in long-term personal ownership and recent, reliable caregiving for friends and family. Dog Expertise: I grew up with dogs and, prior to moving to this neighborhood, I was the trusted, regular dog walker and sitter for family and friends. This experience involved handling daily walks, managing feeding schedules, and providing necessary companionship and playtime for various breeds, including both high-energy and senior dogs. Cat Expertise: I am a current, devoted cat parent (along with my husband). I am highly proficient in all aspects of cat care, including understanding subtle feline behavioral cues, managing litter box routines, and ensuring a calm, stress-free environment for shy or independent cats. General Care: I am reliable, responsible, and committed to following your specific care instructions precisely. I understand that sticking to a pet's routine is essential for their well-being. Specific Skills Medication Administration: Comfortable and capable of administering oral medications (pills or liquid) as needed. Safety & Walks: Skilled in leash handling and ensuring safety during walks in local neighborhoods. Home Security: Highly respectful of your home and dedicated to maintaining security and cleanliness during my visits. Communication: Committed to providing detailed updates, photos, and clear communication after every visit. Since I work from home, pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine and is a welcome break from my desk! I look forward to the opportunities to get out for walks and visits. Here is how I structure my day around my pet clients: Midday Priority: My lunch break is specifically reserved for client visits. I am typically available between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to ensure your pet gets a much-needed potty break, walk, or play session to break up their day. Flexible Bookends: My WFH schedule allows me to be flexible and accommodate early morning or evening walks/check-ins (e.g., around 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM), which is crucial for pets needing a dinner time routine or a final potty break. Pet-Centric Household: Pet care is a core part of my life. My husband and I are devoted to our cat, Remi, and caring for him—including managing his special diet and occasional medication—means maintaining a consistent, pet-focused schedule is simply normal for me. I only provide care right in your home—I don't offer boarding at my place. Pets are happiest where they live, and I love bringing the care directly to them! How I Care for Your Pet (20–30 Minute Visits) For Dogs 🐕: Walks & Routine: I stick strictly to your routine! As a WFH person, I love getting out for focused, safe walks, whether it's midday or an evening stroll. Safety First: I have lots of experience walking and sitting for friends/family, and following instructions is my top priority. For Cats 🐈: Calm Connection: As a dedicated cat parent, I understand and adjust to different cat personalities. I focus on reading your cat's mood, providing quiet companionship or playtime on their terms. Special Needs? No Problem: Just like my own cat, I'm totally comfortable handling oral meds, special diets, and those essential quick clean-ups (litter box/accidents). I promise clear communication and lots of fun photo updates during and/or after every single visit!

About: Hi, I'm Catilyn! 👋🐾 I've been caring for pets for several years professionally, and nothing makes me happier than helping them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their families are away. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to get to know them and provide care that's tailored to their individual needs. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm and reassuring companion, I'm happy to provide the care that helps them feel at ease. I have experience caring for puppies, adult pets, senior pets, and multi-pet households, and I'm comfortable following detailed care instructions, administering medications when needed, and keeping up with feeding schedules and daily routines. Communication is important to me, so you'll receive regular updates, photos, and messages throughout my visits. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving dependable, compassionate care while you're away. I treat every pet as if they were my own, and I would love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members. I look forward to providing a safe, fun, and loving experience for your pets! My availabilty is semi-open. I work full-time in the evenings, usually up to about 8 hours Thurs-Sun. I have quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to morning & afternoon drop-in visits/walks. I can often work with different schedules and routines. I’m happy to coordinate with pet parents to find times that work well for both them and their pets! I keep my availability up to date and only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to. Providing reliable, consistent care is important to me, and I always make sure each pet receives the time, attention, and love they deserve. When caring for pets in your home, my priority is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I know pets are most comfortable in their own environment, so I take the time to follow your care instructions closely—from feeding schedules and walks to playtime, medications, litter box cleaning, or any special requests. I also treat every home with the same care and respect I would my own. I'll keep things clean and tidy, make sure your pet has fresh food and water, and give them plenty of love and attention based on their personality and comfort level. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or shy and independent, I let them set the pace while making sure they feel safe and cared for. You'll receive regular photo and video updates after each visit so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, healthy, and in good hands while you're away.

Madeline took exceptional care of our five cats while we were away and truly exceeded all of our expectations. It’s not easy finding someone you can trust with multiple pets, but she made the entire experience completely stress-free. She was reliable, attentive, and gave each of our cats the individual attention and care they needed. One thing we especially appreciated was her excellent communication. She sent daily updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our trip knowing our cats were happy and well cared for. We came home to happy, relaxed cats and a home that was just as we left it. It was obvious that Madeline genuinely cared about our pets and treated them like they were her own. I highly recommend Madeline to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and thoughtful pet sitter. We will absolutely be booking with her again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hartland. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
