“Joshua was wonderful, he was timely, communicative, and our shy kitty absolutely loved him. If you are looking for someone dependable who loves your pet he is the one!”

“I wish I could give Blair more than 5 stars!! As always, Blair was wonderful with our pets. Our dog has been having some stomach issues and has been in and out of the vet the last couple of weeks. I hated to leave her, but I had such peace of mind knowing Blair was checking in on her and our cats.”

About: Hi! My name is Maribel, and I’ve been surrounded by animals for most of my life. I grew up caring for family pets and have experience with dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, and other small animals. As a college student, I know how important it is to find someone dependable who will care for your pets like family. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply relaxing, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll also provide regular photo and video updates, so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to give you peace of mind while making sure your pet has the best care possible. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members! I’m currently on summer break from college and have a flexible schedule for pet care! I work part-time at a golf course, and starting soon I’ll only be working one day a week at my second job. Most of my work shifts are during the day, which allows me to be available for afternoon and evening walks, drop-in visits, and overnight boarding. On my days off, I’m available throughout the day to give your pet plenty of attention, exercise, and playtime. I’ll always keep you updated with daily photos and videos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I live in a clean, pet-friendly apartment with a fenced relief area and plenty of safe walking paths nearby. Since I live in an apartment, I only board one family’s pets at a time so they receive my full attention. If you have two small dogs from the same family, I’d be happy to care for them together. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, senior dogs, and shy dogs, and I always follow each pet’s routine as closely as possible. While I don’t administer medications, I’m happy to follow feeding schedules, provide frequent potty breaks, go on walks, and give your pet lots of love and attention. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and right at home.
“I would highly recommend Karenna! She immediately made my senior cat feel comfortable and loved. She was communicating with me throughout my trip and showed how much she cared.”

“Excellent communication all the time, on the button My dog loves her….matter fact I’m home now and normally my dog Lexy would not go out with anybody if I was here. However, with Susan might Lexy gives her the respect she’s due and follows her without hesitation”

About: Hi, I’m Nora! I’ve had four dogs and one cat throughout my life, all of which have sadly passed, but subsequently I have lots of animal care experience. Not only have I cared for my families pets, but I have been dog walking and pet sitting for neighbors, friends and family since I was around 10 years old. I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, lizards, snakes, axolotls, you name it! I am able to accommodate all types of pets- senior pets, young energetic pets, social pets, nonsocial pets, etc. Shoot me a message! I work part time and have a very flexible schedule. I usually can be available, so feel free to reach out. Early mornings, late nights or just mid day and evening walks are all good! I am committed to giving your pet the best experience and to being as accommodating as I can. I will follow your lead in the style of care that your pet needs, whether that’s giving it space or staying nearby at all times. I have dealt with many types of pets, such as aggressive ones, hyperactive, shy, skiddish, etc.
“Jackie was fabulous as always. Always right on time or early and my cats were SO happy every time she came over! You can’t go wrong booking with her, especially during the stressful holiday season.”

“Elise was wonderful, she provided lots of photos and great note each day. She checked on my 5 pets (3 cats and 2 dogs) daily for several days while we were out town. I had a family member staying with them at night. I will defiantly try and book Elise again in the future.”
About: I love taking care of dogs of all shapes and sizes. My Rottweiler recently passed away and I am looking to continue caring for animals outside of my own. A number of people have trusted me with walking their dogs, housing their dogs and kitties, and even bathing them. I’m happy to help you next! I am a work from home student, so I will have all of the time in the world to give your pet-child all of the attention in the world! Although my yard is not fenced, I live in a safe neighborhood and will never take my eyes off of your pet. I will always keep their leash with me, seat belt secured, and doors locked.
“Brian M is fantastic! He is immediately established a relationship with both of 130 lb Great Pyrenees-they are truly excited to see him and I am confident leaving my children’ in his capable care.”

“Christine is a wonderful cat sitter -- reliable, responsive, and so great with Lilah, who is cautious around new people. Lilah felt safe to emerge and interact with Christine by day 2, which is record time! I can tell Christine loves cats, and I felt at ease with Christine dropping in to take care of Lilah's needs. She was very thorough with feeding, watering, washing the used kitty dishes, and scooping litter.”

“We were away for six days and felt so comfortable leaving our Siamese cat, Gus, with Michelle. Gus has a lot of personality and usually doesn't like many people, but Michelle truly had the magic touch! He was completely at ease and so cuddly with her. She was great at communicating and we loved getting all the photo updates. We will definitely book her again!”

About: I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and since I was 11 or 12 I spent years pet sitting for cats and dogs all around my neighborhood. I love animals so much, and I'm so excited to meet your babies and give them the love and care they deserve! I'm currently in school part time after getting my bachelors degree, so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to accomodate most requests - your pets comfort and safety are my top priorities! I do not offer services in my home, as my cat is not very friendly with other animals, but in my own home I have fully enclosed outdoor spaces for my cat, multiple litter boxes, high quality food, and endless toys and cat trees. My cat's health and wellbeing are the utmost importance to me, and I will bring that same level of care and attention to your pets, however their routines and environments differ from our own!
“Jalen really helped us out in a time of need last minute, and the kind of help we needed was substantial, for how last minute it was. He was incredibly attentive, communicative, punctual, and positive throughout the entire week. It meant the world to both me and my dad to know his dogs were in such great hands during an otherwise stressful time for us. This was our first time using Rover and what a blessing it’s been, thanks to Jalen. Would absolutely recommend him, and hope to work with him again in the future!”

“Dalton was awesome! He dropped in on cats twice a day while I was on vacation and always made sure to give updates, which I really appreciate! By mid-week both cats were comfortable with him and didn't hide. Dalton also went above and beyond and watered my plants for me!”

About: As an avid pet lover, friends and family turn to me to help watch their furry family members when they’re away from home. I’ve been a trusted dog sitter and walker for years and hope I can help you with your pet needs! I’m a stay-at-home-parent with local family support so I can dedicate time to your pets whenever needed! Mornings, evenings, and weekends are best, but with enough notice I can cater to your pet’s needs throughout the day. While pet care in my home is not currently available due to a reactive dog of my own, I am perfectly happy to provide most services to your pet in your home. I’m intimately familiar with all collar and leash types, crates and play pens, “puppy pads,” medications, bathing, and more. With the right tools and proper communication, rest assured that I will meet every expectation as your pet sitter!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hampton
Irene took care of our shy, senior cat and handled everything wonderfully. We received daily summaries of the drop-in visits and photos of Lady Stardust. We left some notes specific to our cat's needs and preferences and Irene was attentive to all the details. She is also one of few people Lady Stardust didn't run and hide from immediately, so we're glad our anxious cat felt more comfortable.

Michelle was absolutely amazing for my cat while we were out of town on vacation! She is attentive, kind, and clearly cares a lot about animals. The peace of mind I get just from knowing my boy was well taken care of while I can’t be with him is priceless to me. 10/10 would recommend!

We are extremely grateful for the wonderful loving care Elsie showed our two cats. We have a senior cat that does much better with attention and love. Upon arriving home we could tell he had received both! She handled everything we asked her to do and more. We will definitely use her services again.

I was glad to have Dalton look after a cat............LOL. But I felt stress-free and had a peaceful time. My camera would alert me when someone entered my unit, and I had no reason to check and have pictures sent. Dyson is a strange cat when I'm ready to leave town. Dalton is a GREAT backup. Thanks Dalton

Ashleigh is an amazing pet sitter! We have used her many times and each time we do, we have peace of mind knowing Ashleigh is taking care of our fur babies when we are away. I cannot recommend her enough! She is excellent with communication and leaves us great notes with details about their food and care. Thank you for everything Ashleigh. 😊

Jenna is my girl! After each visit, I have more and more pictures for my cat's modeling book. She's also super flexible with schedule changes - I've had to come back early from trips on two occasions and she has been patient, understanding, and super accommodating.

Jackie went above and beyond to care for our cats. I made an error and sent her to the wrong house and she so kindly forgave my mistake and made sure our cats were taken care of right away. The cats took to her very easily. I received great updates and photos.

Jessie was very communicative and easy to coordinate with. I received updates throughout the visit that were very appreciated as well, and most importantly, the cats were in good spirits. I will certainly reaching out to Jessie again if I find myself in need of a pet sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hampton. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
