“Devan was amazing! We left town for a long 10 day trip and when we returned all 3 dogs were relaxed so I could tell they were really well taken care of. Devan sent us regular pics and videos which helped us humans relax as well! Highly recommended!”

“Did an amazing job with our pets and really went above and beyond with her pet sitting services. She stayed at our home with the animals and was a great house guest while we were gone”

“Brittany was great. She saved us for a last minute reservation. She was very communicative and thoughtful sharing updates proactively and respectful of our space as well as very sweetly doing things like bringing in our mail when we didn't ask her too. Our dog is older and it was so great to have someone so caring take care of him.”

“Another great experience with Sydney! They watched and house sat for an entire week. I got regular photos and updates. Your animals will be in great hands with Sydney - Will definitely be using them again!”

About: I've had pets my entire life and have been through every stage, from bottle babies to seniors, and I've never met an animal I didn't love. I have volunteered in shelters throughout the years, so I have plenty of experience cleaning up after animals and dispensing medication, when necessary. I work in academia, so my schedule is very flexible, and I can check in on pets and go for walks in the middle of the day. I work in academia, so aside from the odd meeting, I have a flexible schedule. I also have the freedom to work from home when needed, so I can be home when we have visitors. I have four cats, so I can only host cats in the house. We have rooms with closed doors where my cats aren't allowed, so any visitors can have their own space if needed. At a client's house, I'll gladly stop by for an informal visit to meet your pet, learn their routine, and collect keys.

“I can’t thank Anna enough for taking such incredible care of my dog. While I was away, Wanda got into a bag of chocolate, and Anna acted immediately, rushing Wanda to the emergency vet and keeping me updated every step of the way. Anna’s quick thinking truly saved Wanda’s life. Knowing Wanda was in such caring and capable hands gave me so much peace of mind. I’ll always be grateful for Anna’s compassion, and genuine love for animals. Wanda and I are incredibly lucky to have found Anna!”

“Mike was extremely communicative and took great care of our house and baby Mattie. He took her on lots of walks and gave lots of updates throughout the weekend. Thank you Mike!”

About: I grew up with a Doberman (Raven) and a Shih-Tzu (Salem) who I loved dearly. Now, I have a cat named Harvest who I adopted a year ago! I spent my senior year of high school volunteering with Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) in Houston, TX. I also volunteered at a shelter in Alexandria, VA during the brief time I lived there. I am available weekdays after 6pm for drop-in visits and dog walking. I can house sit Fri-Sun, beginning Fri evening and leaving Sun evening. I will have more daytime availability starting mid-August and will update this then. I live in a quiet one-bedroom apartment with my cat, Harvest. I'm often reading or sitting out on my balcony enjoying the peace.
About: I love animals but can’t have pets in my apartment so would appreciate sharing that love with your pet! I have been caring for a variety of pets since 2019, mostly dogs & cats (and the occasional bird!). I have experience with dogs of all sizes (from chihuahuas to Great Danes) and most ages. I have less experience with puppies but lots of experience with senior dogs. I have experience with high energy dogs that need multiple walks a day and dogs that struggle with mobility. I have experience with dogs who require medication. I have experience with cats of all temperaments. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. I have a fairly flexible schedule so am available during the day most days and on weekends. I have been regularly caring for my parents’ elderly Great Dane (11 years old now) since 2020. I am looking forward to spending more time caring for pets. I care for pets in their home environment according to the standards set by the owners. I am very conscious of varying family rules on things such as furniture and am happy to adhere to those expectations. I prefer to stick to whatever schedule the pet(s) are used to (regular walk times, regular feeding times, etc).
“Lindsay was an absolute delight! She was incredibly attentive and caring with our kitten. She made sure he got plenty of playtime and attention while we were away, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We really appreciated how thoughtful and communicative she was and would definitely recommend Lindsay to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“Jenny was great - provided regular updates and pics. And my pup seemed super settled and enjoyed having her as his sitter. She also left my place very clean! Would definitely recommend!”

“Chloe was an absolute godsend for us and watched one of our dogs Stein and both of our cats at our home over Christmas. She was extremely communicative & caring, was able to teach & reinforce commands, and even came to the house 3x before the trip to make sure our reactive dog was well acquainted with her before we left. She is our new go to sitter & we can’t recommend her enough!”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Gresham Park is $50

Lindsey is truly amazing! When you have two senior dogs, including one who is 16, every day can bring a little worry. Not because anything is necessarily wrong, but simply because they’re getting older. I was away for work for two weeks, and Lindsey managed to put all of my worries at ease. She was an impeccable communicator. I received frequent updates and photos, and my dogs looked genuinely happy, relaxed, and comfortable in her care. I can’t thank Lindsey enough for giving me such peace of mind while I was away!

This was our first time having someone stay in our house to watch our dogs, and Alice completely put us at ease. Both of our dogs are seniors and one requires basically a whole pharmacy’s worth of medications and eye drops. Not only did Alice flawlessly manage the medication regimen, she also found an easier way to encourage our dog to take the meds! Alice is an excellent communicator. We received plenty of timely updates and pictures, which reassured us of their wellbeing while we were away. Our dogs can be enigmatic but Alice is a total pro. We came back to very happy dogs and a very clean house. Cannot recommend her enough!

Jess was amazing with Ellie while I was on vacation. She was attentive, reliable, and went above and beyond to make sure Ellie was happy and well cared for. She took her on walks, kept me updated, and even gave her a bath. I felt completely comfortable knowing Ellie was in such good hands. Highly recommend Jess!

Yunju and her partner are very communicative, very friendly, and always kept me updated! They stayed over a few nights and left the house exactly as it was when they came in! My dog felt safe and comfortable with them, just as I did! Trustworthy and sweet people I would definitely book again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gresham Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gresham Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gresham Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
