About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years and currently have a pup of my own who I absolutely adore. Over the past five years, I’ve also looked after many of my friends’ and family’s dogs—of all ages, sizes, and energy levels. I love getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m excited to meet your dog and will care for them like they’re part of my own family! I also have experience with topical and oral medication administration and puppies. I’m currently working part time and sometimes remotely so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I would love the opportunity to care for them like my own. I take the safety of pets extremely seriously. As a dog and cat parent myself, I understand how important it is to ensure gates, doors, and fences are secure at all times. During walks, I stay alert to the environment, avoid hazards, and use secure leashes and harnesses. For drop-in visits, I make sure the home is safe, and I always double-check that pets are secure before leaving. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities at every visit.

About: I have my own senior dog at home that doesn't do well with children or big dogs, so I know how important it is to pay attention when caring for a reactive dog. Currently, I'm a PhD candidate in ecology working with lizards and other wildlife. I got my BS in Animal Science at Cal Poly and completed all of the pre-veterinary requirements, although I ultimately fell in love with the research path instead. I've always been very observant and good at anticipating what my own pets need to be comfortable and happy and I'd love to help your pet feel more relaxed while you're gone. I'm currently a graduate student with a fairly flexible schedule, since I work from home when I'm not teaching to spend time with my own needy dog. I won't be offering boarding, as my own dog isn't the most social with other dogs. I'm happy to visit your home or take your dog on walks around the neighborhood.

“Dina did a fantastic job taking care of our cat. She was very responsive and a great communicator. We felt confident our cat was in good hands and reassured by the detailed notes/photos provided.”

About: I grew up in multi dog homes with large and small breeds (a Lab, a Weimie, a GSP, and 2 frenchies). I have PLENTY of experience walking, feeding, playing, cleaning up after, and interpreting body language of dogs. I’ve taken care of dogs in every life stage including puppies and seniors. Having a dog of my own hasn’t been feasible since moving to Davis for various reasons but I miss having furry companions! I’ve been getting my fix by walking and sitting for my friends and coworkers as well as volunteering with the “Barks and Rec” program at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter. An awesome program where shelter dogs get some much needed time out of the shelter and in front of potential adopters. The German Shepherd (named Dexter) in my profile picture was my last dog through the program and we had a lovely time walking along the American River. I work full time as a researcher in the agricultural biotech space. My hours are a bit flexible but usually hover around the 9am-4pm range. On weekdays, I’d be available for drop in visits/walks in the morning before work and in the afternoons after work. If necessary, a lunchtime visit may be feasible. Weekends are very flexible! You know your pet best! I’m most comfortable following your tried and true routines and rules so you and your pup can feel comfortable and at ease knowing I’m caring for them exactly as you would.

About: I have been a cat owner for 13 years. I have also fostered kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs for 7 years. I have experience administering medications and bottle feeding newborns. I’m currently working part-time. I’m available for house sitting and overnight care as well as daytime gigs in your home. As I have a pet at home who does not get along with other animals, I am not available for boarding. I will follow your lead for the safety and well-being of your pet in your home. I will adhere to your guidelines and rules for your dog or cat. I am comfortable with all safety measures including crating and leashing. I am also adept at building trust with timid or fearful animals.

About: I always wanted to have a dog but my current situation does not allow me to do so easily. Thanks for Rover so that I can walk your dog while you need someone to take him or her for a walk. : ) Um.... should I mention I'm a working professional with no criminal record? Oh! And I personally have two cats. I am 100% working remotely so usually free during lunch or evenings. If it’s close to home, I can also drop by multiple times a day. All fur babies need love and attention. Even though we don’t speak our pets’ languages, they can feel the love from us ❤️ it’s that simple

“Amy took great care of our dogs while we were away. She worked with me on the drop-in schedule to ensure the least disruption to their normal routine. I appreciated the Rover cards and photos from each visit. And being responsive when I checked in. Thanks, Amy!”

About: Having grown up in rural areas, I have twenty years of experience caring for and pet sitting all types of animals, from dogs and cats to goats, cows, and rabbits. I have cared for dogs as puppies through their end of life care, and I am confident in giving medications and palliative care for older dogs to make sure they are as comfortable as possible while you are traveling. I am a graduate student, which gives lots of flexibility for early mornings, late nights, and midday check ins- whatever your family needs! I am based in Davis, CA, and love to take walks all through the area. I have many years of experience in both domestic pet care and have been trained in veterinary settings to care for orphaned and injured wildlife and neonatal kittens. Safety in care is of the utmost importance to me, and I am able to handle any emergencies that may come through.

“I recently hired Brooke to cat-sit for our beloved feline, Nacho, and I couldn't be happier with the service she provided. She was attentive, responsible, and showed genuine care and affection towards Nacho. Brooke went above and beyond to make sure Nacho was well-fed, entertained, and had a clean environment. I highly recommend her services and will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future. Five stars!”

“Kate did a great job with our dog Samantha. Highly recommended!”

“Esmerilda was absolutely fantastic! I had very poor planning but she accepted my last minute booking. She sent me a ton of pictures and little stories of how my cat Bear Bear was doing which set my mind at ease about having to be away. She also made sure he got his meds, was well fed, and given all the scratches and cuddles. I highly recommend her to others.”
