Julia went above and beyond to accommodate our very socially anxious dog. He’s always extremely excited to see her again, she stayed with him to calm him down when he was howling out of loneliness, she always replies quickly, and she’ll even bake cookies for the owners. Best experience we’ve had on this app

About: Hey, I’m Janelle. Some people call me Nelly. I’ve grown up around all types of dogs my whole life and love being around them. I just want to be an extra hand for anyone who needs someone reliable to watch or walk their pups.I really love being active and getting outside, so I'm always down to take your dogs out for a good walk or run to keep them entertained and get their energy out. I'm also totally happy to just hang out on the couch, brush them out, or give them some good belly rubs if they're more of a couch potato.I'll treat your dogs like they're my own. Let me know if you need any help! I’m currently working part-time and from home, so I have a flexible schedule that can work around yours if needed. I have zero responsibilities besides myself and others that I care about, and your pet can easily be another. Whether you need a midday check-in, a quick walk, or someone to hang out with them while you're at work, I have plenty of open windows to make it happen. I only watch pets at the client’s house, I don’t do any boarding at my own place. When I’m at your house, I just focus on keeping your pet’s routine exactly how they like it so they don't get stressed out. I'm always super careful about keeping doors locked and making sure no quick cats or dogs try to slip out past me. I'll follow whatever instructions you leave for food, walks, or medicine, and I’ll send you updates and pictures so you know everything is good.

No matter the age or size, I’ll be there to care for them when you need. Even if they have special needs or quirks, I’ll always accommodate. Looking to make this into my career!! I have a huge passion for animals, especially dogs, cats and horses. I got into this so I can prioritize my passion for a career with dogs! I am available for most holidays as well! I try and leave everything as if I was never even there! I love brushing cats/dogs so I might just spend time doing that as well! Amanda is absolutely conscientious and dependable, but what REALLY shines is the calm demeanor and gentle nature that won over our old but still a bit rambunctious Mac immediately. Dogs always seem to know who to trust and he wasn't wrong. Sad to see her go, but we'll most definitely hire her again!

About: When I was younger I had a hamster. A bird. A dog. I used to take care of a neighbors cat and a neighbors dog. Living on my own I had a hamster and I now have a guinea pig. It’s been a long time since i have taken care of other people’s pets but I am reliable and responsible. I will take care of dogs. Cats. Hamsters. Gerbils. Guinea pigs. Rabbits. Anything with fur. I am currently looking for a job so right now I have lots of free time on my hands. I don’t have family responsibilities. I live in an upstairs co op. I have a guinea pig in a cage. Your pet would get a lot of love and attention from me. I wouldn’t just feed it and walk it and go. I would spend time with it.

About: I’ve owned and cared for four dogs of my own, giving each one consistent love, structure, and attention. I regularly take shelter dogs out for walks, playtime, toys, and treats to brighten their day. I’ve been a dog-lover since I was young, and I often dogsit for friends and family, giving every pup the same patient, reliable care I give my own. I work full time, but I’m consistently available every day between 4pm and 7pm. That window fits perfectly into my routine, and I’m always ready for walks, drop-ins, or evening care during those hours. Safety and trust are always my first priorities. During drop-ins and walks, I follow your pet’s routine exactly as you prefer; feeding, water, meds, or crate needs included. I keep a close eye on gates, doors, and leashes, and I make sure every walk is calm, controlled, and enjoyable. I always send updates, photos, and notes so you feel fully informed and confident while you’re away. Your pet gets my full attention, patience, and care every visit.

About: I have hands-on experience working with animals through both therapy dog work and my previous experience as an assistant to a veterinary technician. This has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and how to handle pets with care, patience, and confidence. I’m comfortable supporting pets with different needs and always focus on making them feel safe, calm, and well cared for. Working from home allows me to be a consistent, calming presence for your pet throughout the day whether at my home or yours. I truly enjoy spending that time with them—whether it’s going on walks, giving them attention, or just being nearby so they don’t feel alone. I know every pet is different, so I follow their lead and make sure they feel comfortable and secure, whether they’re full of energy or prefer a more relaxed, quiet routine. I keep your pet’s routine consistent while providing attentive care, companionship, and a calm presence. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet time, I adapt to their needs and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I am also a photographer which could lead to getting some great photos while you are away!

About: I have grown up with different dogs my entire life. My best friend was a Rottweiler named Sampson and I had him from a pup. I create trained him as well as click trained him to become a good citizen. I have experience with large breeds as well as small. I have cared my many fur babies in this own homes, keeping them happy with conversation, brushing, play time and long walks. I feel that all breeds deserve love regardless of the negativity they may get from others who don't understand the breed. I have owned pitbulls and have found them to be loyal and loving and don't judge any animal. I have experience training my own dogs as well as freinds and family. I'm currently working PT as a home health aid and have flexibility and free time Tuesday through Saturday to walk and hangout with your beloved fur baby. I would come to your home and watch your dog, take them for a walk, snuggle, feed, play, brush and engage them with conversation and provide them love and support.

About: I have been an animal lover all my life! I enjoy caring for other people’s animals which I have been doing for over five years, along with four years working in a doggy day care and six years as a vet assistant. I have been with one specific dog family for the past 9 years and even helped the dog give birth! I am also well versed in and enjoy reptiles as well as aquatic animals! Nothing is more special to me than the joy animals bring into my life and the way they can make you see the brighter side of things while still being able to have fun. I am also able and certified to administer medication and give injections if needed. I have the experience, knowledge, and the heart to give your animal the best care they need. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet, even just for a little while. I want to make it easier for all the pet owners to focus on their vacation or outings without the added stress. You will never be disappointed with my services. My goal is to keep you and your animal happy at all times! I am available all day at any time and would love to help out with any needs you require! Hope to hear from you soon! I am always careful when it comes to your pets. I make sure they are as comfortable as possible with me when you’re not home!

About: Hello there. I am 29 years old. I grew up in Vermont and always had pets in the house. I would love to watch, walk, feed or anything you would like to make your life easier! I am very active so your lovely dog will always get a lot of exercise! I live in a condo without a backyard but there are lots of paths for dog walking. I have also learned of trails that are great for dogs. I grew up with all size dogs so big dogs do not scare me. If you are looking for someone to care and love your pet just as you do then I am the person for you. I have a 1yr old rat terrier named Peter who loves all dogs, so please be aware when booking that there will be another dog in the house :)

We feel so lucky to have found Erin! She is a fantastic communicator and wonderful with our dog, who can be very shy. Throughout her visits, she was remarkably attentive, careful, and thorough. We couldn't ask for a more reliable, trustworthy caregiver, and we'd recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone looking for top-tier care!

Gerri is such a warmhearted and caring person - no wonder our pup warmed up to her right away! She was also kind enough to meet our pup before she came the next day for our booking. She walked our two pups and gave us very detailed photos and notes throughout the day about their walks. We had a great experience with Gerri!

Julia has been great to work with and an immense help with Kevin. She arrives on time (or within a few minutes of the scheduled time) and promptly gets Kevin out on his hour long walk. She often stays a little past the hour and makes sure Kevin is all good to go again in his crate. Definitely would recommend her to anyone needing a dog walker.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
