Amanda is absolutely conscientious and dependable, but what REALLY shines is the calm demeanor and gentle nature that won over our old but still a bit rambunctious Mac immediately. Dogs always seem to know who to trust and he wasn't wrong. Sad to see her go, but we'll most definitely hire her again!

Kerry is amazing at taking care of Honey. Since our dog is on the older side now, she’s less active and Kerry will walk her and then sit with her a while just giving her love. She responds to messages within a few minutes, and goes above and beyond. I highly recommend her for your fur babies!

Maureen is amazing! Very responsible, caring, and most important loving to my dog. I’ve noticed a wonderful change in my Shmoopy since Maureen started walking her. She’s happier and more excited now that she has someone as great as Maureen coming by to walk her and play with her. Words can’t describe how great Maureen has been with and for my Shmoopy. I highly recommend her! She’s truly one of a kind. Thank you!

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. Growing up, I lived with two tuxedo cats who completely stole my heart. As I got older, I took on many of their daily care responsibilities, including feeding them, cleaning their litter boxes, playing with them, and making sure they felt loved and comfortable. Today, my wife and I are proud pet parents to two black cats. In addition to caring for cats, I have experience watching a toy poodle puppy under one year old. My responsibilities have included taking her outside for regular bathroom breaks, supervising walks, engaging her in play and exercise, teaching basic tricks and commands, reinforcing good behavior, and helping her work through separation anxiety. Caring for a young puppy taught me the importance of consistency, positive reinforcement, patience, and attentiveness to a pet's individual needs. Whether caring for cats or dogs, I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and reliable environment where pets feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I understand that every animal has a unique personality, and I strive to give each pet the same level of attention and affection that I would want for my own. i work part time in the mornings and am available most days after 1pm. I am a doctoral student at Stony Brook University, so I am flexible to watch your pup or kitty any time in the afternoons/evenings. If needed, I can do an early morning stop by at 6:30AM prior to heading to work. in my clients home, I will be respectful of property, taking off shoes before entering the house, cleaning up any messes that the animal/myself may create, ensuring the animal has food, water, litter box, toys, etc. accessible, and to lock up the house, windows, and any gates prior to leaving the home. I will always accommodate the clients requests. In my home, I have multiple floors to separate my animals from the animal(s) coming into my home. I also have a fully fenced in, large backyard for a dog to run around in. We have a home security system as well to ensure safety.

He’s always extremely excited to see her again, she stayed with him to calm him down when he was howling out of loneliness, she always replies quickly, and she’ll even bake cookies for the owners. About: I have experience pet sitting and caring for many different dogs, so I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I truly love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether that means going on walks, playing, or just giving them company and attention. I also have a golden retriever of my own, so I understand the responsibility and care that goes into making sure pets are happy, safe, and well cared for. I know every dog has different needs, and I always do my best to make them feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers a calmer environment, I’ll make sure they get the care and attention they deserve. 🐾 I currently work part-time only a few days a week, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for pets. Since I’m home from college for the summer, I have availability throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and giving pets lots of attention. I always make sure to plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for so they get the time, care, and consistency they deserve. I’m also happy to communicate and work with owners to make sure their pet’s routine is followed as closely as possible! I provide walks and drop-in visits only, so pets stay comfortable in their own home. I always follow the owner’s instructions, make sure pets are safe, cared for, and get plenty of attention, exercise, and bathroom breaks during visits.

About: I have a passion for working with dogs (and cats), especially in training with them. I have 10+ years experience of working, riding, and training horses! No matter the age or size, I’ll be there to care for them when you need. Even if they have special needs or quirks, I’ll always accommodate I’m currently in-between jobs, but looking for something full time in the early morning, so I can prioritize my passion for a career with dogs! Weekends are available as well, and I will always try and work something out! No matter the size or age of your pet, I will always try my very best to accommodate! The two cats I have at home are harness trained so I can still provide them outside time. I am very willing to help at home with keeping within the animals needs.

Amanda is so sweet and perfect with our dog and cat. The dog can be quite nervous, but her calm demeanor meant that they became fast pals. Amanda walked him a bit longer than she had to and lavished us with tons of adorable photos. She asked thorough questions to make sure that his medication was properly dispensed and about his routine to make sure he was behaving normally. I cannot recommend her more!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
