“Fantastic experience with Shauna. She was responsive and took wonderful care of our kitten, who has a lot of energy! She played with him and put on his favorite tv shows and updated us regularly on how he was doing. We've already booked her three times!”

“Dalene watched my 5 month old golden retriever, Walter, for a two day period and she was great. She kept my lad active and was in constant contact while I was away. Walter was very content and happy when I came home, which is a sign he had the best companionship with Dalene. I cannot recommend her enough.”

“Sarah continues to be one of our go to pet sitters. When we arrive home we can tell our pets have been well cared for and tended to. Our home is left clean and picked up. Appreciate Sarah's time she spends engaging and playing with our cat and our dog.”

“Christina is a wonderful sitter! She clearly loves the fur babies and that is a two way street. She is timely, enthusiastic and sends the best videos and pictures. We had a couple of good sitters before Christina but when they weren't available, we had to go back to the Rover-Verse to find another one. She is the first sitter to get the fur babies to eat and handle their outdoor business consistently! We have a rescue dog as well as a cat who has recently transitioned to indoors and they both loved their time with Christina. That is a testament to her positive energy and true love for pets.”

“Kaitlyn did amazing with my dog! We just moved to Clovis from Gilroy so my dog has had some anxiety. She was still able to get him to eat with her while I was at work. Thanks so much Kaitlyn!”

“We love Grace! We’ve booked her multiple times, and she is absolutely wonderful with our fur babies. She’s always respectful of our home and takes such great care of everything. We highly recommend Grace! 🐾❤️”

“Mary is absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of my two pups and the house while I was away for a few days. My girls seemed happy when I got home and she left the house nice and clean. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“Emily was great! She treated my Tj like her own. I felt very comfortable and confident that he was well taken care of while I was away. Emily's communication was great and she sent photos of my dog regularly.”

“Anna is so great!! This was our first time doing any sort of pet sitting or house sitting and we immediately felt comfortable to leave our dog in her care. We are so thankful for her services and would definitely have her pet sit again!!”

“Chelsea was wonderful with my two dogs while we were away. She is very conscientious and the house was in perfect order when we returned. I would highly recommend Chelsea and would love to have her housesit for us again.”

“Eleonora did a wonderful job taking care of our dog and 2 cats in our home. She walked our dog every day and kept us posted throughout the visit with messages and pics of our fur kids. She is very reliable and we would definitely book her again!”

“Marissa was so helpful and reliable during our vacation. She watched our home and dog and provided thorough communication and daily photo updates. I would recommend her for your dog and house sittings.”

About: Hi! My name is Alexis, and I’m a lifelong animal lover who understands that pets are family. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities, and I take pride in providing reliable, attentive care while you’re away. I work full-time in healthcare, where attention to detail, responsibility and compassion are part of my everyday routine. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, playtime, or simply some extra love and attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I will treat your pets as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I work full time M-F 8-5pm. I can do evening drop ins/walks by 5:30pm. Weekends are typically very open. You can rely on me on weekdays 5:30-9:30pm and weekends fully available morning-evening. I provide care in a safe, calm and structured environment during walks and drop in visits. I am attentive to each pet’s routine and comfort level, and I make sure they feel secure while you’re away. During visits, I focus on maintaining your pet’s normal routine-whether that includes feeding, potty breaks, playtime, or snuggles. I always follow owner instructions closely to ensure consistency and comfort for your pet.
“There are no words to rate or describe how wonderful Alivia was with Owen (16 year old dog). She arrived ahead of scheduled time and left after time allotted. She watched and kept Owen company for 3 days 8-5. They went on Adventures everyday rather than just sitting in a hotel room. The pictures she took and sent were amazing. She took Owen to an awesome pet store, had picnic and showed him the sites of Fresno. He was smiling and happy. Alivia made a horrible visit to Fresno (had trial in court) a good one and didn't have the stress of worrying about Owen. I definitely highly recommend Alivia-5++++++ stars. Thank you for your love and compassion.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 15, but my love for animals started long before that. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and they truly have a special place in my heart. Over the years I’ve pet sat for families and friends, and through their recommendations, I’ve also had the opportunity to care for pets of people. I hadn’t previously met. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets and home and someone else’s care so I always treat every pet like they’re my own-with lots of love, patience and care.🐾 I am currently working part time and a full time student so Friday-Sunday works the best for me right now. But after December that will be changed:) I want your pets to feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away, which is why I’m happy to care for them right in their own home. I will follow their normal routine, give them lots of love and attention, and always treat your home with care and respect. I’m also happy to send plenty of pictures and updates while you’re gone!!🐾
“We had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and attentive. Our cats are typically very anxious and don’t warm up to new people easily, but she was incredibly patient and gentle with them. By the end of our trip, they were comfortable and even snuggly with her, which really says a lot. She treats your pets like her own and consistently goes above and beyond what’s asked. As anxious pet parents, it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She also provided regular, detailed updates, which helped us feel connected and reassured while we were away. We’re so grateful for the care she gave our pets and will definitely be using her again. If you’re looking for someone who will love your pets, understand their quirks, and keep you sane while you’re away—she’s it. 10/10, no notes.”

“Solome took great care of both of our pups. They immediately felt comfortable with her. She provided updates throughout the day with images. She even went above and beyond and placed one of our delivered packages in the house on her way out. I would recommend her. Will be booking again :)”

“Samuel was absolutely fantastic. Very quick with communications and follow up. Communications were consistent and informative. Momo was very happy spending time with Samuel and we would definitely book again. Highly recommend!”

About: ⚠️ PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE CONTACTING ⚠️ To ensure we're a good fit and to respect both our time, please review my pricing and policies below before reaching out. Thank you! Welcome! I'm so glad you're here 🐾 Why families choose me I know how hard it is to leave your furry family member with someone new. That's why I'd love for you to visit my home before booking – see where your pet will stay, meet me in person, and get a feel for the environment. No pressure, just peace of mind. Here's what makes my care different: I only take two to three pets at a time. Yes, I have space for more, but I intentionally keep things small. Your pet isn't just another booking; they get my full attention, a calm environment, and the kind of care I'd want for my own pet. Since I work from home, your pet is never alone. If your pup has separation anxiety or just loves company, they'll have me nearby all day. I genuinely treat every guest like they're part of my family. What you can expect • Photos you'll actually love: I take pride in capturing beautiful moments of your pet. Check out my profile photos – that's the quality you'll get! I want you to see your pet's personality shine and know they're happy and loved. • Real communication: During business hours, you can call me anytime. Need an update? Have a question? I'm here. Your peace of mind matters. • A spotless home: My place is deep-cleaned weekly. It's fresh, odor-free, and hygienic. You're always welcome to visit! Just a heads up – I do ask guests to remove shoes to keep things pristine. • Safe outdoor space: The backyard has seven gorgeous redwood trees that provide tons of shade. That said, your pup will spend most of their time inside with me, where it's cool and comfortable. I never leave dogs unsupervised outside for extended periods. • A calm, quiet home: No young kids, and no elderly family members. Just a peaceful space where your pet can relax and be the star of the show. • No pool: One less thing to worry about! Safety first. Important details about care & pricing • Veterinary care: If I notice anything concerning about your pet's health, I'll contact you immediately (and Rover). If I can't reach you, I'll take them to the vet. All bookings are covered by Rover's Guarantee (up to $25,000 for eligible vet expenses). • Pricing adjustments: I do charge additional fees for certain situations to ensure I can provide the best care: Small: Base Rate Medium dogs: (30-60 lbs): +$15 Large dogs (60-90 lbs): +$20 Giant dogs (90-200 lbs): +$100 Puppies under 1 year (not potty trained): +$125 Why the large/giant dog fees? I want to be transparent about this. • Decline other reservations: due to the lack of space, I might need to be forced to cancel other reservations to ensure we have adequate space for your furry friend. • Space & capacity: When I host a large or giant breed, it often means I can only take one other pet (or sometimes no other pets) to ensure everyone has adequate space and comfort. This limits my availability for other bookings. • Physical demands: Larger dogs require more physical strength and energy – from handling on walks to managing their movements indoors. It's more intensive work to provide the attentive, hands-on care they deserve. • Wear and resources: Bigger dogs naturally need more of everything – more food, more space, more cleanup. They also create more wear on furniture, floors, and the home environment. • Individual attention: Every dog gets my full focus, but larger dogs often need extra time and specialized care to ensure they're comfortable and happy in my home. This pricing ensures I can give your large or giant dog the quality, individualized attention they deserve without compromising on care. Why the puppy fee? Puppies are wonderful, but they need specialized care! I take your pup out every 30 minutes to support their potty training and help them develop good habits. It's hands-on work, but it makes a real difference. If your puppy is already crate and potty trained, I'm happy to waive this fee. Again, please review these details before reaching out so we can make sure we're the right fit for your pet! I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! 🐕💕 A day in the life with me 🌅 I'm naturally an early riser, which works out perfectly for your pup! Here's what a typical day looks like: Morning: We start the day with a refreshing morning walk to get those legs moving and set a positive tone for the day. Throughout the day: Your dog will get regular potty breaks in my backyard all morning long. Since I work from home, I'm always here to let them out when they need it. Evening: When the weather's nice, we'll wind down with an evening walk to stretch, explore, and burn off any remaining energy. This is the exact routine I followed with my own dog, and it worked wonders for his potty training. He learned to trust that I'd take him out when needed, and I learned to trust that he'd wait. It's all about consistency and communication! Your dog will seamlessly become part of my daily rhythm – same love, same care, same attention I gave my own. They're not just a guest; they're family while they're here. 🐕❤️ 🐣They will be in a safe and secure environment, where no dog will be distressed. I prioritize understanding each dog's behavior by discussing their temperament with clients and taking proactive measures to ensure a calm and harmonious atmosphere. This is why I limit the number of dogs to a maximum of two per night, to maintain individual attention and safety for all pets involved.

This was my second time booking Anna, and once again she was wonderful! She stayed with my dogs and my daughter’s dogs for four hours while we attended a family function. We came home to happy pups and appreciated the peace of mind. I would definitely recommend Anna!

Solome did an excellent job with my 2 large breed dogs! I booked her for an overnight.. house sitting plus doggie duties. My pups can be intimidating and high maintenance. She handled them well. I received regular updates with pictures and she is very communicative. I will be booking her again in the future. 👍🏼

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Gordon on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 522 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gordon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gordon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gordon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gordon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gordon. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
