“Always such a great caretaker for our animals. They have provided so much help with last minute assistance with our animals. TreDerica is incredibly communicative and has always shared so many pictures with us while we are away. Will happily book multiple times !”

“I've been using Marian for over 5 years for housesitting & drop ins (2 different dogs over the years). She's always responsible, consistent, and has always taken great care of my dogs. She's VERY good with working around my dogs' individual quirks, which I greatly appreciate. I truly don't have to worry if she's watching my dog!”

“We cant thank Matt enough for watching Indy on our wedding day. He was able to stick by Indy’s side through all the chaos going on in the house. I was worried about our pup since it would be a new experience for him. Matt gave me regular updates on how he was doing as well as sent pictures and really put our minds at ease. 5/5 would recommend!”

“Rae was amazing! We had a some stuff change and she was great! Our dog Chase loved her and her daughter!! Rae sent a bunch of pics of Chase who looked super happy!! She even watered my flowers which I was so grateful for!! Esp bc she found some still in pots I forgot to plant! Def give her a 5 star!! And use her again!”

“Paige is reliable, responsive, and responsible. And my dog adores her!!! Took great care of him while I had a two-week vacation and I never worried for an instant. Paige answered my booking request really fast and came over for a refresher on my dog’s care since her last stay with him. Paige will be my first choice as dog sitter whenever I go away in the future.”

About: I’ve had dogs ever since I was a little kid. I’ve been professionally walking and sitting for over a year now. I’ve had several family members ask me to take care of their dogs and cats. I only walk two dogs Monday and Tuesday so the rest of the week I am available for a service. I work from home and can take a walk in the morning or late in the afternoon. I would be more than happy to care for your pet in the comfort of their home. I get on their level and make sure to talk calmly and let them get comfortable on their own terms
“Nikki was wonderful - both with our 6 month old puppy and communicating with us! She was very conscientious and a good communicator. She calmly worked with our very energetic young border collie. He was calm and focused when we came home each day. No small feat!”

“Alexys did a great job with our kitten and puppy. She kept us updated on how they were doing. Our puppy is skittish around new people and things and she was able to win him over. She was also very professional and our home was as we left it. We will be using her again in a few days after having her here for the past week.”

“Shannon stayed with our three cats while we were in England for a week -- it was reassuring to know she was in the house keeping an eye on them (and everything else)! Kept the cats happy, left the house clean, and sent nice updates with pictures. Great cat-sitter!”

“Super chill guy, William was easy for my nervous girl to adapt to. He’s great with her and goes the extra mile with little things that matter. Thank you, Bill.”

“Hadiya did an amazing job staying with our Walter while we were on vacation! She comforted him during the fireworks and put on dog music when she wasn’t around. She provided many updates and photos. Highly recommend!”

“Maria did a great job caring for Blu and Leo during her stay. She was attentive, communicative, and patient, especially with Blu’s crate training. I appreciated how smoothly the evening went and how she kept me updated throughout the night. I’d happily have her sit for my pets again!”
“Allie was an exceptional dog sitter and took wonderful care of my diabetic dog while house sitting. She was attentive, responsible, and clearly comfortable managing medications and sticking to a strict schedule. I had complete peace of mind knowing my dog and my home were in great hands. I would absolutely trust Allie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, caring sitter, especially for pets with special medical needs.”

“Lauren did a great job bonding with and caring for our 2 greyhounds and whippet as well as our home while we were away. She was attentive to our dog’s individual needs and sent cute photos and updates. Would book again!”

About: Have over 10 years of pet sitting and care experience. Have worked with different animals, and breeds of all different ages. Have my own form of transportation and lots of different availability. As well as currently taking the dog and cat CPR training class through the Red Cross. As someone who has pets at home pet care fits into my routine every single day. I make time throughout the day for walks, play time, etc. As well as prioritize time during the day if my pet needs medicine to give it to them. I care for pets in a clients home as if it’s my own home and pet. I am constantly with them and giving them attention. The schedule for those pets is my top priority. Also, if anything needs to be done around the house for the pet while at the clients home I take care of it. I fully respect the client’s home while I am there taking care of their beloved pet(s).

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glenside
Using Lauren to pet sit is seamless. She moves in and takes care of our dog like she is her own. Our 10 year old dog doesn't even know we have left. She also takes care of the little things around the house so we can vacation without a worry. Highly recommend her if you need a pet sitter.

Lauren was an amazing pet sitter! She took wonderful care of our dog, was attentive to our needs, and even helped with things around the house. She sent daily photos and updates, giving us peace of mind and making our time away completely worry free. We knew our baby was in great hands. We would definitely book with Lauren again and highly recommend her!

We loved having Cadence stay with our dog, Levi. We just got back from our 5 day trip to a clean house and a happy dog. She updated us daily on all of the things we asked her to, and she followed his typical schedule, which made us feel comfortable leaving him with her. We’ll definitely be asking her back next time we’re out of town. Thank you, Cadence!
I trust Ally to take care of my baby because she reads his behavior and needs the same way I do. For example, when it’s super hot out she keeps his walks short and utilizes the pool and indoor activities to make sure my dog gets the exercise he needs! She’s naturally an amazing dog sitter!

Kristen is a seriously dreamy A++ Rover sitter. I would love to hire her again! Communication was super smooth and easy. She took excellent care of our dog and was game to take a different dog that I normally care for on her usual walk. Turns out that wasn’t needed but I so appreciate her willingness to help me out in that way. The doggie photos she sent were so good as well. Book her now before her calendar is full.

John took great care of my dog Brenna while I was traveling for 2 weeks. It was great to know that she was comfortable in a space that she's used to, and John sent me daily updates, including a pic of my girl. John was very respectful of my space and went above and beyond- even changing the sheets on the bed before I got home. This was my first time using Rover- and John made it a positive and stress free experience! If I'm traveling again in the future, I would definitely book him again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Glenside on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 5,554 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Glenside. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glenside walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glenside maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glenside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glenside. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
