“Kendall made living my little girl way less stressful! She came the day before to meet Bonnie, play with her, and make sure we were both feeling comfortable! She was super attentive to Bonnie and would absolutely recommend booking with her 😊”

“McKenna did an amazing job caring for our pups in our home. She communicated well with updates and photos and videos. The pups received the utmost love and care in our absence, and I would not hesitate to recommend or book McKenna again!”

About: For more than 20 years, I’ve been caring for dogs of all ages, and my love for animals began in childhood. I’ve had the joy of raising and caring for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, giving each one the patience, attention, and love they deserve. I’m dependable, always on time, and committed to providing exceptional care with kindness and compassion. Whether your pet needs a fun walk, companionship, medication, special nutritional care, or extra attention because of age or health, you can trust they’ll be treated like family. In addition to my experience with dogs, I’ve also rescued cats and helped raise litters of kittens, giving me confidence caring for cats of all ages as well. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your beloved pet is receiving the highest level of care. I work remotely and have great flexibility with timing. I tailor schedules based on pet needs and pet parent requests. Weekly availability, M-F and also weekends and holidays Pets are honored guests in my home and all safety precautions are followed. Clean water is always available and pets are always supervised. When I visit pets in their homes I am always careful and respectful of their environment. Doors are always confirmed locked when I leave. I keep all the individual needs for each pet in mind.
“I cannot say enough good things about Vivien. I have two very large dogs a pitbull and a German Shepherd and they are big babies and she took great care of them and unfortunately I don’t have a yard so she had to walk them every day three times a day and she did a great job. They loved her. She kept me up-to-date with texts, me sent me pictures. She will definitely be called upon again.”

“Thank you Kristen for all your help with my last minute request for a house sitter. Rori was so happy to be at home while I took a short trip. You're the best!”

“Maddie was awesome! She took great care of both of my dogs and kept me updated the entire time. She made me so comfortable while I was away and I knew my dogs were having such a great time! I would definitely book with Maddie again and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy dog sitter. She goes above and beyond! ?”

“Marianne was amazing! She sent us daily updates and photos while we were away. Marianne followed our care instructions and went above and beyond. I’ll certainly be booking with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Gail stayed with our 2 poodles while we were away. She kept us well informed of their daily activities. I couldn’t be more pleased with how she made us feel at ease as our sitter.”

“Samantha was great with our dogs. It was a last minute booking since our sitter bailed, and it worked out great! She was very accommodating, kept us informed with how the dogs were doing and was responsive. Will definitely use her services again!”

“Kailey watched 2 of our dogs at home for a long weekend. She is responsive, respectful, and kind. Kailey asked plenty of questions to make sure she could meet our expectations. House was kept tidy and Kailey was thoughtful to put the linens in the laundry room and clean the poop in the yard. I came home later than expected and Kailey offered to come back for a potty break. Girls seemed calm and content when I got home. Grateful for Kailey!”

“Having been lucky to have had the same dog sitter for the past 20+ years, we were nervous, to say the least, about going through Rover. Leslie had dog sat for a friend and received excellent reviews. I know why after having her watch our pup. She kept us informed during her entire stay and we returned home to a happy pup and clean home which was a plus!! Leslie will be our dog sitter for future trips whenever it fits with her schedule. If you want the best, have Leslie watch your pet!!”

“Fabulous. Patrick stayed at my house with my very fireworks-averse pups while I worked new years eve and was a total life saver. He was very communicative every step of the way and made sure they were well loved and cared for. He sent pictures and updates throughout the night and left the house exactly as he found it. Both my cat and dog are generally very hateful towards strangers and men, but both of them loved him immediately. Huge green flag. Will definitely be repeat customers.”

“Michelle was great with Peppar, I could tell he was very happy and content with how Michelle provided for him and nurtured him, almost as if Peppar was her own pet. Cannot recommend highly enough!”

“We had Natalie stay at our home for a week. She was wonderful. Very kind and very responsive. She left the house spotless and well taken care of. When we arrived home, it was clear from her behavior, that our pup had been given the love, attention, and play that she needed. We are grateful to Natalie for that and we will definitely reach out to her again in the future!”

“I had to leave my fur baby’s for 4 days and 3 nights. I was worried because I don’t like to leave them. Catalina came to my house to meet my fur baby’s and she made us all feel at ease. Thank you very much Catalina! While we were gone she sent pictures and gave updataes. I would highly recommend Catalina who has any worries about leaving their baby over night.”

“Georgia is amazing! Our German Shepherd, Balou, loved her and she was so great with him. Balou has some mobility issues and Georgia cared for him very well. Will be using her for a babysitter anytime she’s available when we’re gone.”

“Monica was quick to respond and was willing to help with short notice. Very friendly and pets took to her quickly. Left everything neat and tidy. Hope to be able to have her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort McDowell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort McDowell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort McDowell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
