Leslie has a great way with Maya. Maya warmed up to her quickly and was very relaxed. She didn't display her usual separation anxiety. We will definitely request Leslie again.

About: I absolutely love animals, but because my career (hopefully an airline pilot in the next year) I can't commit to owning a pet right now. Instead, I enjoy giving my time and care to other people's pets. I've cared for dogs and cats for friends, family, and neighbors, and I treat every pet like they're my own. Whether it's playtime, walks, cuddles, or sticking to their routine, I'll make sure your furry family member feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. Right now, my schedule is very flexible. I typically work Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, though my hours depend on my students' schedules. During the summer, with vacations and the Arizona heat, I have even more availability and would love to spend that time with your pets My top priority is making sure your pets are comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I'm more than happy to provide drop-in visits or overnight stays. I can also host your pet(s) at my apartment. While I don't have a yard, I do have several great walking trails nearby for plenty of exercise and outdoor time!

About: I have been taking care of pets since I was 9 years old when I got my first puppy Roxanne. Growing up we also had farm animals and I took care of them as well until I moved out and every once in awhile when my family is out of town. I also house sit for a family over the years every other week for 2 years who had 2 dogs and 1 cat since they worked a job out of town. I house and pet sit for all of my friends on a normal occasion. When I do something I do it to the best of my ability and build a relationship with all of their pets and make them my own friend! My schedule is super flexible so I am able to work with your needs. I do all of my work from home. I am able to provide any transportation for your pet or pets. I am also able to stay at your house or stop by several time throughout the day. I have 2 cats and a dog I know how important it is to take care of them and be present for them.Luckily I have a girlfriend who is able to stay at home and give them attention as well. I care for my own pets by having play time and I feed all my animals 2 times a day and they have water all day. With Clients pets if ok I like letting them outside throughout the day to go play since I am able to take plenty of breaks throughout the day. Anything that the client says or needs done at certain times for their pet if there is certain feeding times or if they are on a schedule I will just follow that for them.

About: I have been dog sitting for as long as I can remember, I take care of them like they’re my own. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters and have dog sat all over the country. I will watch whatever animal you have, snakes, turtles, etc. I work from home so if your dog doesn’t like people leaving then that won’t be a problem. I’ve taken care of dogs that need medication (oral/injection). Does your dog like walks? If so, I’m willing to use my own vehicle to take them to a park or walk them around the block! I don’t leave the house that much but when I do the dog is always willing to go with me if the owners allow it. I live in an apartment, I have a family pug that I walk, when he’s at the apartment, as much as he can handle with his diabetes and partial blindness.

About: Along with raising our 5 year old Golden Retriever, I have 20+ years of dog-sitting experience and have been a Rover sitter since 2021. I’m comfortable with many different breeds and sizes having watched anything from Daschaunds to St. Bernard’s. I’ve also been highly referred by numerous clients that are satisfied with my services. Check out the Reviews section to see all the feedback from clients that booked with me! I have a flexible schedule during the week & the weekend which allows me to spend quality time with your pup giving them top-notch care and all the attention needed to ensure they are comfortable throughout their stay. My wife Kelly also works from home full-time so between the two of us your pup will be in good hands and taken care of throughout all times of the day. My wife and I adore our 5 year old Golden Retriever and pamper him daily. We play fetch with him and go on a lot of walks so we’re well-versed on caring for an active dog if that’s the type of personality your pup has. When we’re not outdoors being active, you’ll most likely find Gus snoozing on the couch or flat on his back requesting a belly rub so if your pup is less-crazy and a little more lazy we cater to that, too. He gets along great with other dogs and has made a handful of new Rover buds since we started sitting so he’ll be excited to meet you and your pup! I know that boarding a pet can be a stressful time for you as well as your animal, I’ll make sure to check in with daily updates and pictures of your furry family member to keep you posted on how they are doing. I’ll make myself available 24-7 during the boarding so whether its an urgent emergency, an unexpected flight cancellation, or you’re relaxing on the beach and just want to know what your dog is up to, feel free to call/text/message me anytime day or night.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for a number of years now. I know how important people’s pets are to them, so I take it very seriously. I love all dogs and how each one of them is unique and loving in their own way. I give lots of attention and care to the dogs in my care, and make sure all feel comfortable. I’d love to take care of your pup! Please reach out with any questions! I’m home most of the time, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pet. I live a more active lifestyle, so if they need daily walking and exercise, I am happy to take them. I like in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment and I have a small goldendoodle who is very friendly and loves all people/dogs. I usually walk around the neighborhood by where I live multiple times daily to make sure dogs get exercise if needed. I can crate your dog if you’d like or leave them out.

About: I've spent years taking care of family and friends' animals - primarily cats and dogs. I have my own high-energy herding pup and am familiar with the ins and outs of an animal. I've had experience with sensitivity and reactivity as well. I'm excited to love on and spend time with your pets! I am currently working part-time so I have flexiblity and time to hang with your pets. Let me know what their schedule looks like, and we can see if it is a good fit! I am very aware of my surroundings and cognizant of animal body language (from working with my own pup). I try to meet the energy of the animal - cat want alone time, or only to play a little bit? Fine by me! High-energy dog needs multiple walks during the day? Also works for me.

She even left little treats, a handwritten note, and two beautiful handmade pictures of our pups! So thoughtful and she’s so professional and kind. Highly recommend!

Our experience with Darion was great! Our dog is shy with new people, but she warmed up to Darion quickly. Darion was very responsive when I texted her with questions and she sent updates and pictures every day (as requested). She took our pup on long walks, to the beach, and out to cafes during the day. She watered our plants and took out the trash for us and for our elderly neighbor. She even offered to stay later than planned when our flight home was delayed. Darion left shortly before we got home, so I didn’t get to see our dog interact with her. But our dog seemed healthy and happy and the house was in good shape. I would recommend Darion!

About: I have been taking care of pets since before I could remember. I believe that pets are what make the world go round, and always strive to make them as happy as can be! I have a small, calm dog and cat here in Arizona, and two large, crazy dogs back in Maine. I definitely understand how both ends of the spectrum can be! All my pets have made it from early puppy, to late senior so I understand the vital importance and factors of taking care of a youthful/elderly pet. I am only working part-time at the moment so taking care of your pets on the weekend is not a problem for me! I also work early mornings so I am free in the afternoons/evenings during the week for all services except overnight stay! MY HOUSE: I have a small, calm/friendly dog that would love to keep your furry friend company. He can be locked away in a separate area of the house if needed! I also have a small, calm/friendly cat but she will be locked away for all visitations/overnights because she gets scared easily. I have a beautiful fenced in backyard with a pool and fake grass. All pet waste gets cleaned up so it’s always hygienic. I will take your dog for a long walk 2 times per day. I will follow your desired feeding/play schedule and administer any medicine if needed. YOUR HOUSE: I will do all the same as listed above! If you have no fenced backyard, I will take your dog on multiple walks a day to get their energy out. I will also follow any crate training instructions if desired.

Tiffany stayed at our home with Lily for 5 days and did an amazing job. Our flight coming home was delayed by 5 hours and she was able to stay a little bit longer which was so helpful. She asked if we wanted her to strip the bed sheets and wash them along with towels. So we came home to freshly washed sheets. Lily of course was so happy to see us but I could tell she was well cared for by the photos and messages Tiffany sent while we were away. We will definitely be using Tiffany again and 100% recommendation her with your fur babies. Thanks again, Tiffany, for providing exceptional care!

FAQs for House Sitting - Rio Verde

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Rio Verde on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 4,217 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rio Verde. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rio Verde walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rio Verde maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rio Verde choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rio Verde. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
