“Our two girls, both rescues, who are usually nervous at the vets and grooming, were welcomed into Kelly’s home by Mo the pug and the party never stopped :3) It was if they’d known Kelly and her gang forever. We’ve never left the girls at someone else’s house but when we drove off we did so guilt free and with confidence that they’d be smothered with love and lots of play. The best experience ever!!! Looking forward to many more visits”

“Kevin was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was so flexible and my dog was excited to come back every morning. She was well taken care of and I was completely at ease. Very much hope to work with him again.”

“Christopher was awesome! He made the very early 5 AM dropoff a breeze even with Champ having a zoomy in the living room and the pickup was easy too and Champ slept like a baby all night so I would definitely recommend!!”

“This was my first time using Rover. The process was very easy. It was also the first time leaving my anxious dog with strangers. Rossana was wonderful - she was confident, calm and reassuring.. She and Kurt are obviously dog lovers and experienced pet sitters. They kept me informed during the day and sent two photos which put me at ease. Great.experience!”

About: Caring for dogs is something I truly love, and it’s become a big part of my everyday life. I’ve created a home where dogs can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I know being separated from their family can be stressful for some dogs, so I do everything I can to help them settle in, feel at home, and receive the same love, patience, and attention I’d want for my own pets. I’m home the majority of the day, so dogs get frequent supervision, regular potty breaks, and plenty of companionship throughout their stay. My schedule is flexible and built around the dogs in my care, rather than long stretches away from home. Because I keep my bookings limited, I’m able to give each dog more consistent attention and keep the environment calm and predictable. Drop-off and pick-up times are scheduled in advance so transitions are smooth and low-stress. I’m often booked 8+ weeks in advance, especially during school breaks, summer, and holidays. Repeat families are welcome to check with me about future dates, but new bookings are only held once they are confirmed. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my highest priorities. My home is intentionally set up to provide a safe, calm, and welcoming environment where dogs can relax and feel at home. I carefully introduce new dogs at a pace that’s comfortable for them and closely monitor body language and interactions to help everyone feel safe and confident. Dogs have access to the main living areas of my home and a fully fenced backyard with grass, a dog door, and a covered patio for year-round comfort. I’m home most of the day, providing frequent supervision, regular potty breaks, and plenty of companionship. Fresh water is always available, and I keep the environment clean, safe, and low stress. For added peace of mind, every guest wears an AirTag and ID tag while in my care. Meals are separated from active play to help reduce the risk of bloat, medications are given exactly as instructed, and an emergency veterinary hospital is located about 15 minutes away if ever needed. To provide individualized care, I intentionally keep my group sizes small—typically no more than three guest dogs at a time. I thoughtfully consider each dog’s temperament, play style, and comfort before allowing them to interact. I use calm, positive handling and never punishment-based methods. If a dog shows signs of stress or unsafe behavior, they are immediately separated, monitored closely, and their owner is notified.
About: For more than 20 years, I’ve been caring for dogs of all ages, and my love for animals began in childhood. I’ve had the joy of raising and caring for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, giving each one the patience, attention, and love they deserve. I’m dependable, always on time, and committed to providing exceptional care with kindness and compassion. Whether your pet needs a fun walk, companionship, medication, special nutritional care, or extra attention because of age or health, you can trust they’ll be treated like family. In addition to my experience with dogs, I’ve also rescued cats and helped raise litters of kittens, giving me confidence caring for cats of all ages as well. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your beloved pet is receiving the highest level of care. I work remotely and have great flexibility with timing. I tailor schedules based on pet needs and pet parent requests. Weekly availability, M-F and also weekends and holidays Pets are honored guests in my home and all safety precautions are followed. Clean water is always available and pets are always supervised. When I visit pets in their homes I am always careful and respectful of their environment. Doors are always confirmed locked when I leave. I keep all the individual needs for each pet in mind.
“Su sent lots of pictures of our pup settling in! They had so much fun and our pup was well taken care of, I don’t think he was eager to leave during pickup. He felt so welcomed, calm when we picked him up, and made a friend.”

“Janice was a great sitter for our dog Buddha. Very friendly and easy to work with. Her two dogs Buddy and Sophie were as sweet as can be and great companions for his all day stay. Highly recommend Janice and will book with her again in the future! :)”

“Our senior mutt, Roxie (11.5yrs) went to Will’s for the first time for daycare while we were moving. Walked right in when Michelle greeted her. The place is so well kept. When we picked her up, she was happy & content. We will definitely be taking her back here again. Thank you for the photos, also!”

“Krysten is always so wonderful with our fur kiddos. She is so friendly and I know they are safe and well loved in her home. We have now done overnight boarding and daycare with both our elderly 12 year old lab and our 1.5 year old "puppy" that is a ball of energy. She can handle all things with them (including meds when needed) with love and we are grateful we found her! Highly recommend her.”

“Jennifer is amazing! She takes her time to make you feel comfortable and ensures your dog is happy. I highly recommend her service and will be returning customer.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Fort McDowell
Kelly was a wonderful choice for our Aussi! She was well taken care for and Kelly was very good with communicating and sending us photo updates during her stay. We could tell our girl enjoyed her stay at Kelly home. Shes a solo girl at home so being around other friendly doggies in a home setting vs a doggy daycare facility, was a real treat for her! Would absolutely use Kelly again and recommend her home to someone looking for a reliable and consistent home daycare!

As of August 2026, there are 2,282 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Fort McDowell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Fort McDowell commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
