“Anna took great care of my dog, Oso. She sent constant updates and pictures, took him for several long walks and took great care of our home. I highly recommend Anna to take care of your pets!”

“Lauren did an amazing job watching our two dogs. She communicated well, responded fast and followed our directions. She sent daily pictures and I could tell the dogs were well looked after. It’s easy to see she is great with animals! We will definitely use her in the future.”

About: I’ve cared for pets from all walks of life, including small and large dog breeds, cats, and even specialty pets such as bearded dragons and fish. No matter what kind of companion you have, your family member will be in caring and capable hands with me. I also have several years of experience caring for high-maintenance, special-needs, and senior pets, so I understand the extra attention, patience, and individualized care they may require. Having worked in healthcare for several years as well, I recognize the trust involved in entrusting a loved one to someone new and take that responsibility seriously. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! Please feel free to message me if you’re interested in booking or have any questions—I’d love to see if I’d be a good fit for you and your pet. I work full time during the week, but I am available most days after 4/5pm. I am usually open most weekends without time constraints I regularly rotate walks and runs with my own large, high-energy pups to help keep them active and happy. They eat twice a day and enjoy a mixed diet. My cats require a little less hands-on attention, but they can be higher maintenance due to their asthma and picky eating habits. While this is how I care for my own furry family, I understand that every pet is unique, and I’m always happy to adjust to your pet’s individual needs, routine, and preferences
“Becca is a very responsible, trusting, kind caregiver. She took care of our two dogs for 8 days in our home and we returned to very well cared for happy dogs and a very well cared for home. We have always boarded our dogs and this was our first time using a in-home service. We couldn’t have had a better experience. I’ve already asked Becca if she is available for two more of our upcoming trips this year. 5 stars”

“Great experience with Allegra. She took excellent care of my pups and kept the house spotless. The dogs were in such a good mood when I returned, which tells me everything I need to know. Will definitely book again!”

“Alex worked with our one dog who was nervous around him at first. He spent a lot of time at our house with our two dogs while we were on vacation. When we came back our dogs were tired and happy.”

“Aury was so sweet with our pets! She sent lots of photos and clearly cared about them. She even stayed late when our flight got changed. We would highly recommend her to anyone needing pet care.”
About: Hi! I’m Jessica, a lifelong dog lover - I’ve grown up with dogs since I was 10 🐶 While I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I get my dog fix by fostering and volunteering with Second City Canine Rescue as an adoption event handler and foster babysitter. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and comfort levels. I'm comfortable with anxious or high-attachment dogs, senior dog care, and medication administration. I’m happy to welcome your pup into my home or stay with them in theirs. I’ll treat your dog like family and keep you updated with lots of pictures along the way! I’m available on weekends for boarding and house sitting and can typically extend this until Monday/Tuesday, when needed. My full time job allows for a lot of flexibility and I am able to stick to a pet’s normal routine. I care for every pet as if they were my own. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walking routines, and any special needs. I make sure pets have plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and a calm environment where they feel safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I respect their space and keep everything clean and organized. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners feel confident their pet is happy and well cared for.
“Judith and her daughter Cynthia did a fantastic job caring for my cat Bunky and my house. She stayed here with him for 11 days while I was traveling and he was very happy with her company. She let him get to know her at his own pace and provided extra care for him as he is blind. I'd recommend Judith and Cynthia to anyone needing pet care, and I'll definitely ask them back to take care of him the next time I travel.”

About: hello! my name is charlize i’m 22 i’ve grown up with animals my whole life and now i currently work at an animal hospital helping taking care of the dogs and cats that come in to see the vet. i’m very experienced with animals and taking care of animals and i love all different kinds of animals. i’ve worked at the animal hospital now for two and a half years and its been the most amazing two and a half years of my life. i am also going to school to practice becoming a veterinarian so i am really excited to meet all new furry friends for more experience. i am good with administering medication, i am good with dealing with aggressive dogs, i am good with any diabetic cat or dog with dosing insulin. you name it and i can do it!! i work part time hours at the animal hospital during the summer months and full time during fall and winter but i am extremely flexible, as i work on my terms and conditions. i am willing to fit last minute accommodation if it works with my personal schedule but i can also take time out of my day if needed to walk a dog etc. i unfortunately cannot have pets in my building but i am more than willing and able to go to anyone else’s beloved home to pet sit, or walk, or feed animals. i come in with a soft expression and wait for the animals to get used to me and my scent and then i wait for their approval to come further in their home/space. i am very careful to not touch them when they don’t want to be touched and i am always patient with animals especially if they’re new to my route.
“Jennifer stayed in my home and took care of my Shar-pei Chuffy. This is the first time I've used a service to take care of my dog. She was totally reliable and kept me updated with texts and photos. She won over my standoffish boy and he fell completely in love with her. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Gabrielle was so helpful with my doggos! We had a pet emergency right before we left to go on an international trip and she was able to help give medicine and comfort. You can’t go wrong with Gabrielle!”

About: Why should I be your sitter?? Great question! I have been an animal lover and pet owner my whole life. I have sitter experience for family, friends and neighbors spanning over 20 plus years. I aim to be very responsive and typically get back to interested clients in under 10 mins. I will provide multiple pictures and videos of any visit! I genuinely love spending time with animals and feel like it is not work to give pets a better life and great care. I specialize in: 1. Senior pets! I love our older furry friends and have many years of experience with medications, dietary needs and comfort for older dogs and cats. 2. Anxious pets! Animals that have separation anxiety, need boundaries when on walks ie. No petting, or triggers like thunderstorms. I have owned pets that have all of the above and sit for them as well. 3. I am happy to work with goals you have for your young learners :) I believe that pets are members of our family and want to give every animal the support they need! I can be available for drop ins or any variety of sitting needs! I have experience with crate training and medication administration. I have watched animals with a variety of behavioral support as well. I am open to meeting your pet where they are at.
“We would re-book Jillina without hesitation. She is a high integrity, super responsible pet sitter who will make it a priority to comfort and care for your pets. She truly bonded with our felines (2 mature Siberian cats). Her attention to our details, which we clearly outlined, were kept without compromise. We graced her with a lot of latitude in our home which she treated with great respect and did not in any way take advantage of. Our cats will miss her! Jillian personifies the ideal pet sitter.”

“Krissy took great care of our fur babies while we were away. She also left our home in spotless condition. We are lucky to have found her and look forward to work with her again soon!!”

“Abby is an excellent dog sitter. My dog was given a ton of love and my house was in good order when we returned from our vacation. We received daily pics and I'm pretty sure my dog would have been fine if we never returned! Abby obviously loves animals and is a responsible and reasonably priced sitter. Highly recommend!”

Christine was fantastic! She was great with our senior dog and was very communicative! She even helped with watering our plants. She treated our dog and home like her own. We are grateful for good people who take on this type of job, it means so much to keep our dog at home while we are away. Thank you Christine!

Brandon was absolutely incredible. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he has a natural connection with dogs—Luna and Rosie were completely at ease with him in a way we rarely see with others. It honestly felt like having a true dog whisperer in our home. He was punctual, professional, and carried himself with a calm confidence that made the entire experience effortless. Knowing how our dogs typically react to new people, this level of comfort and trust meant everything to us. We would absolutely book Brandon again without hesitation, and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone reliable, intuitive, and genuinely gifted with animals.

Absolutely fantastic care and professionalism for our pets. Kind, caring and detail oriented. Great with both dogs and cats. They made our vacation special because we could see how well the pets were cared for — their wonderful, regular communication was superb! I highly recommend and would love to use their services again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 6,324 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Forest Lake. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Forest Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Forest Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Forest Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Forest Lake. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
