“Alexa did an awesome job taking care of our high energy Aussiedoodle. Our home was the same (or better) than we left it, the pupdates were just right and Maggie always looked super-happy. I hope Alexa is available next time we need a dog sitter!”

“My girls loved having Jennifer at the house. Jennifer arrived when she said she would. Stayed in communication and left the house better than I could ask. I will definitely rebook.”

“Sam is absolutely AMAZING! She stayed overnight for about 10 days and took incredible care of my two dogs. One of them is a senior who requires daily oral medication, and Sam did a fantastic job making sure he got his meds every single day while closely monitoring him. My other dog is a very active pit bull who needs extra attention when going outside because she can be sneaky but Sam handled this perfectly and always made sure she was safely on a leash. After having an unpleasant experience with a previous sitter, I was hesitant to use Rover again, but Sam completely changed my mind. She went above and beyond in every way. I came home to a spotless house, and throughout my trip she sent plenty of pictures and messages that truly showed how much she cares and her genuine love for my dogs. I’m so grateful I found Sam and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Highly, highly recommend!”

About: I’m a vet tech that graduated from college last year. I work at a vet clinic full time and I know CPR. I know what to do in very needed times. I can take care of them before work, on my lunch break if needed, and after work. If they are well trained and small dogs, I can take them with me to work as well. I do need to know at least a week or two in advance as to plan. I also have other clients that schedule far out with me. I do not watch animals at my apartment. If I do, I have to pay the animal fee of $350. I do enjoy and like to watch animals at their house. I make sure they can’t get into anything while I’m gone and I also make sure the house is locked when I leave so no one else enters while I’m gone.
About: I genuinely treat every pet like they're my own. I'm comfortable caring for pets with different needs, whether that's high-energy dogs that need long walks and playtime, puppies still learning routines, or older pets that need a slower pace and a litle extra patience. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, medications (if necessary), and any specific instructions you leave. I also make a point to keep you updated with photos and check-ins, so you're never left wondering how your pet is doing. Pet care fits really well into my routine. I work as a paralegal during the week, but I'm available during my lunch break for walks or quick drop-ins. After 4 PM, I'm fully available for longer walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your pet company. On weekends, I'm much more flexible and can be available pretty much all day depending on your needs. Whether it's multiple visits, extended stays, or last-minute plans, I'm happy to help. I just ask for about an hour's notice, so I can make sure I get there on time and give your pet the attention they deserve. In my own home, I'm used to caring for two very different personalities. I have one high-energy dog who loves to run and play, and one more relaxed dog who prefers to take it easy. I adjust my care based on their needs , whether that means being outside throwing a ball and staying active, or slowing things down for cuddle time and a calm environment. When I'm in a client's home, I follow that same approach. I pay close attention to each pet's personality and routine and adjust accordingly. If your dog loves to play, I'm more than happy to keep them active and engaged with walks, games, and mental stimulation. If they're more laid back or just want companionship, I'm just as happy to spend time relaxing with them and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for.
About: I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by animals and caring for them is more than just a job—it’s what I love. I live on a farm and have worked on multiple farms over the years, gaining hands-on experience with just about every kind of animal you can imagine. From dogs and cats to horses, pigs, cows, chickens, goats, and ducks, I’ve cared for them all. With 9 years of hands-on experience in pet care, plus years of fostering dogs and cats, I’m comfortable with animals of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I currently have two dogs and three cats of my own, so I truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I treat every animal like family and always focus on keeping them safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m currently a full time student at UTK getting my bachelors degree in Agricultural Business. Most of my classes are online so I only go to campus two days a week. I work part time as a bartender. I work on the weekends, however my schedule is flexible. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I always use secure leashes and harnesses, closely monitor pets during walks and visits, and follow any special instructions you provide. Living and working on farms has taught me to stay alert, calm, and prepared in all situations. I’m experienced with multi-pet households, high-energy dogs, seniors, and animals that may need a little extra patience or care. I treat every pet as if they were my own and never take risks with their well-being.
About: My family always had a dog while I was growing up. I love dogs, but I am not able to have a dog right now due to renting. That’s why when I go visit my friends and family, secretly I’m going so I can visit their dogs. I think they have caught on to this though. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to feed, walk, and watch their dogs. Don’t be surprised if your dog ends up loving me more than you. 🙂 I work from home and am able to take breaks whenever I need to. Walking your dog benefits me as well because I need the breaks to get some movement. For home visits, I am able to feed and let your dog out to run around if needed, whether that be outside or just out of the crate for a while. I am very willing (and will very likely) give your dog some social interaction by playing fetch, tug-o-war, or with any other toys they might have.
“Five stars isn’t enough — Preston is the real deal. As professional dog daycare and boarding operators, we have extremely high standards for who we trust with our animals and our home. Preston didn’t just meet those standards — he obliterated them. Our four boys were calm, happy, and clearly well-loved when we got home. The house was spotless. And Preston had already handled everything. Here’s what truly set him apart: he noticed an ear infection developing in one of our dogs — something that requires a practiced, attentive eye — arranged transportation to and from the vet, cleaned the ear, and administered the post-visit medication. All on his own. That’s not just good pet sitting. That’s genuine expertise and real initiative. We’ve been in the pet care industry. We know what great care looks like. Preston is the rare kind of sitter you hope exists but rarely find on any platform. If you’re on the fence about booking him — stop deliberating. Book Preston. We won’t use anyone else.”

“Stephanie was great! She stayed at our home for 10 days to take care of our cat, Loki, and did such a great job. Her communication was fantastic — I loved getting photo updates and hearing how things were going while we were away. She’s so sweet, and it was clear that Loki felt comfortable and enjoyed her company. We came home to a happy cat and a tidy home, and I couldn’t ask for better care. Highly recommend her and would definitely book again!”

“Without a doubt, Emma is an animal lover! Our dog and 2 cats were cared for as we instructed and beyond. We spent a week away without a worry about them or our house. She communicated regularly and was a pleasure to interact with….always positive and thinking in advance about our pets needs. We enthusiastically recommend her!”

“Sydney is a true professional who did a fantastic job watching our pups. She showed up on time, sent the cutest photos, and went above and beyond to really bond with our skiddish rescues.”

“Elle was AMAZING with River. He was so well taken care of and loved. He’s actually wandering around today looking for her. I am very happy to highly recommend Elle. Additionally, she stayed at my house and left it in impeccable. 11/10 on all fronts”

“Allison was extremely communicative and helpful with our pups! She even looked after an eye problem and gave meds 3 times per day for us while we were gone. Would highly recommend!”

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life! And I now have had lots of experience watching other people’s dogs as well! I can’t wait to take care of your pup! I have availability throughout the whole week currently. But that is subject to change. I like to spend my off days outside going for walks and enjoying the weather when it’s nice. I like to listen to the clients instructions because every household and every dog is different and has different needs so making sure I follow their rules is the most important thing.
“Here’s a great review you can use for your dog sitter: Review: [Dog sitter’s name] was absolutely amazing! Super reliable, very communicative, and gave my dog lots of love and attention. I got regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. Highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“She took such good care of my two dogs! She stayed over at my house for long hours and made sure they had plenty of play, love, and outside time. The pictures she sent me while away showed that they were sooo happy! I will definitely reach out again!”

“Amber was great and super attentive with my fur babies! She sent tons of photos and updates so I always knew they were being cared for, which provided me with peace of mind so I could enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use her again in the future!”

Derri was fantastic with our boys! Both are older, large dogs that require a good bit of somewhat complex medication - Derri managed with great care! Regular updates were sent complete with photos and details on how the boys were doing. Thank you Derri for taking great care of our boys allowing us to have a relaxing vacation knowing everything was good at home!
Rachel was not only a great and communicative dog sitter, she was also very respectful of our home. She was extremely attentive to our shy dog and did her best to make her comfortable and happy. She was also able to give our pittie his meds without any issues. We got plenty of updates and photos! We would trust her with the pups anytime.

Mariah was absolutely perfect!! She did a meet and greet with us and our dog before the stay which was nice! My Doberman loved her!! She took him on walks and played with him in the back yard and sent lots of pictures! She also made us banana bread and left it in the oven for us for when we got home and it was fabulous! Thanks Mariah for making our vacation worry less!! We will definitely use her again if she’s available! ❤️❤️

Parker did an awesome job taking care of our boy. She took great care of him and our home. This was the first time we had someone stay with him for a whole week and he was a bit nervous. But Parker loved on him and they became great friends. We highly recommend Parker.

FAQs for House Sitting - Farragut
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Farragut on Rover is $40.35 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 706 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Farragut. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Farragut walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Farragut maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Farragut choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
