About: I genuinely treat every pet like they're my own. I'm comfortable caring for pets with different needs, whether that's high-energy dogs that need long walks and playtime, puppies still learning routines, or older pets that need a slower pace and a litle extra patience. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, medications (if necessary), and any specific instructions you leave. I also make a point to keep you updated with photos and check-ins, so you're never left wondering how your pet is doing. Pet care fits really well into my routine. I am a full-time student during the week, but I'm available during my lunch break for walks or quick drop-ins. After 4 PM, I'm fully available for longer walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your pet company. On weekends, I'm much more flexible and can be available pretty much all day depending on your needs. Whether it's multiple visits, extended stays, or last-minute plans, I'm happy to help. I just ask for about an hour's notice, so I can make sure I get there on time and give your pet the attention they deserve. In my own home, I'm used to caring for two very different personalities. I have one high-energy dog who loves to run and play, and one more relaxed dog who prefers to take it easy. I adjust my care based on their needs , whether that means being outside throwing a ball and staying active, or slowing things down for cuddle time and a calm environment. When I'm in a client's home, I follow that same approach. I pay close attention to each pet's personality and routine and adjust accordingly. If your dog loves to play, I'm more than happy to keep them active and engaged with walks, games, and mental stimulation. If they're more laid back or just want companionship, I'm just as happy to spend time relaxing with them and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for.

About: Hello! My name is Cynthia! I have been taking care of animals ever since I was a young child, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ranging from small breeds like Yorkies to large breeds such as German Shepard and Mastiffs and several in between like Spaniels and Golden Retrievers. I am comfortable handling different energy levels, personalities, and care needs. Additionally, I have experience in caring for cats and am comfortable with feeding, litter box maintenance, and playtime with feline friends. I am detail-oriented and comfortable following specific care instructions and administering medication, as I know every pet requires a unique approach and care. While your pet is in my care, I will send photos and messages daily so you can have peace of mind while you are away! Pet care fits well into my weekly routine! I work weekdays from 8:00am to 5:30pm, so I can provide morning and evening walks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention before and after work. If your home does not have a dog door, I'm happy to stop by during my lunch break for a midday potty break and walk to help keep your dog's routine as normal as possible. Additionally, I'm comfortable administering oral medications and other routine medications as instructed, and I'm happy to follow any special care needs your pet may have. If you're only looking for a dog walker, I'm available for evening walks on weekdays, making it a great option for those who work third shift or have late work hours. On weekends, I have the flexibility to provide walks throughout the day to fit your pet's schedule and your needs. For house sitting, I stay overnight in my clients' homes so your pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment. Since I live in an apartment that does not allow animals, I am unable to host pets in my own home. Whether I'm caring for dogs or cats, I'll make sure they receive personalized care, lots of affection, and daily updates with photos so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and any special instructions so I can provide consistent care while you're away. Whether that includes feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, or simply giving them companionship, I'll make sure they receive the individualized attention they deserve. When caring for pets in your home, I respect both your pet's routine and your home. I'll ensure doors, gates, and fences are secure, keep your home tidy, and provide regular daily updates with photos so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to help your pets feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment while giving you peace of mind that they're in caring, reliable hands.
“Emma was awesome! She was on time, communicated well, followed our pets routines! She sent updates and went beyond to care for our crew and our home! I am beyond pleased with her and hope to book with her again! :)”

“Mara was great with our boys! They are very shy and timid and she was so patient to let them warm up on their time/terms. Taz got lots of walks and he and both cats and were happily relaxing when we got home. 😊”

“Elle is a wonderful dog sitter. I felt that my fur babies were in good hands while we were out of town. I will definitely request her services in the future and highly recommend her to others.”

“Alexa did an awesome job taking care of our high energy Aussiedoodle. Our home was the same (or better) than we left it, the pupdates were just right and Maggie always looked super-happy. I hope Alexa is available next time we need a dog sitter!”

About: Medically retired Veteran and stay at home dad with lots of time on my hands to care for fur kids and keep a watchful eye on them. I have dog sat for friends' pets and personal pets that I've owned for over 30 years. I don't currently have another job. So, aside from medical appointments, I don't have any issues with daily or weekly routines. I should be able to conform to any and all needs. I always care for every pet as though that pet were my own. I know how sensitive each pet can be, so I try my best to keep that in mind when dealing with someone else's pet.

“Stephanie stayed at our house for three nights to watch our Aussie, our Cavalier, and our cat. She had to administer meds three times a day, not the most enjoyable task. She sent loads of pics, and her communication was great. Our trip was relaxing since I knew our pets were in good hands. Thank you Stephanie!”

“Sarah was amazing!! I cannot recommend her enough!! Our dog loved her and she kept us informed the whole time we were away. We will definitely be using Sarah again in the future!”

About: I’ve grown up around & with animals. My mother was a vet tech when I was a child so I spent many days in the office helping and loving on pets. At age 10 I started pet sitting inside our home and did until I was 20. These days I spend time with our Frenchie (Lucy), Miniature Schnauzer (Willie), cat (Mickey) and my kids & husband. I’m a full time stay at home mom. I am available for dog walking & doggie/kitty daycare, drop-in visits and boarding on occasion any day of the week. I have a small fenced area around our back patio with a grassy area that will be used for potty breaks & outside play. We can also go for walks in my neighborhood if you prefer them take a walk during their day. I’m also experienced with animals with special needs and medications. I’m also able to give baths, nail trims and brush outs.
“MaShon did a great job watching our dogs for a few days while we were out of town. She took great care of them, sent us photos and was quick to respond anytime we checked in. She also took great care of the house and we will always check her availability first when we need someone in the future.”

“Alex was AMAZING! She stepped up and covered an eight day booking last minute when the original sitter cancel two days before our trip. She updated us with pictures several times a day. Our house was cleaned pups were happy when we got home. They liked her so much they keep going to the guest room door looking for her! We will definitely rebook her and give her the highest recommendation!!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Solway
Absolutely incredible pet sitter! She watched my two cats for 18 days and treated them like royalty. She learned their personalities instantly, sent me daily videos of their progress, and even slept in the same room so they never felt lonely. My shy cat opened up to her, my playful one was obsessed, and honestly… I think they’re a little disappointed I came back because they were living their best lives with her😆 If you want someone who brings pure heart, energy, and dedication, she’s the one. Five stars isn't enough🤩

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Solway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Solway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Solway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Solway. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
