“Absolutely wonderful — we couldn’t have asked for better care for Winston & Rosie! Johanna was fantastic from our very first message. She was quick to reply, super friendly, and incredibly flexible while we worked out a meet-and-greet time. When she came to meet the pups she was warm and patient, and we instantly felt comfortable leaving them in her care. Her updates during the drop-ins and house sitting were outstanding — detailed, reassuring, and full of adorable photos that made being away so much easier. She handled Rosie’s initial nervousness perfectly (gave her space, used treats, and adapted walks until she was wagging and excited), while Winston had a blast on his outings. Every check-in felt thoughtful and personalized. Johanna is professional, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. She went above and beyond to keep us in the loop and make sure the pups were happy and safe. We came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs and zero stress. We would (and will!) book Johanna again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much — you’re a 10/10 sitter! 🐾”

“I’ve used a few different sitters on Rover before and have had great experiences, but Brett truly went above and beyond. He sent tons of pictures during each drop-in with the cutest (and funniest) commentary, which made being away so much easier. He even made friends with my cat who normally hides from strangers — I was shocked! He was also extra gentle and loving with my senior dog, which meant so much to me. It’s clear he genuinely cares. I would absolutely book him again and highly recommend him.”

About: Hi there! I'm Lane, available for dog walking and doggy daycare (for dogs that are good with cats) in the Olympia/Lacey area. I have over a decade of experience caring for animals, from volunteering at shelters, to training dogs in agility, working as a vet assistant, and house sitting. I am warm, patient, and respectful of the unique needs of each pup I work with. I am especially well-versed in interacting with shy/nervous dogs. I only use positive reinforcement. I work remotely so have a very flexible schedule for walking and sitting. I'm excited to give your dog lots of love and attention this summer! Note: my former name was Olivia, which you’ll see listed in my old reviews! I am currently between jobs in social work, so fully available to care for your pets and spend time getting outside in the city with them. I only care for pets in other people's homes, and will follow care instructions to a tee. I am respectful of your space and only focus on making sure your pet is happy and health when I am there.
“Aaliyah was great with my Beau. He’s very passionate about his pool time and Aaliyah made him a happy boy by playing fetch with him in the pool. She was very communicative which I really appreciate.”

“Sarah is wonderful! She is really great with our girls. Especially our senior cat, who is at the end of her life! She is thorough and asks a lot of questions, to ensure the best care for our babies! Thank you Sarah!! 😊”

“Once again Deidre was amazing with my pups! I think they recognize her now because they are starting to come out of their kennel for her with no issues! Which is a huge accomplishment for them.”

“Jerrie wad the best. Always attentive to Mike's needs as well as keeping me updated with pics and messages of how things were going. I have recommended her to my friends and family.”
“Matthew was absolutely fantastic with our two girls! They immediate took a liking to him when they first met and by the time we go back from our trip both the girls were more calm and well behaved than when we left. Matthew also sent us pictures of our girls every day so we wouldn't miss them as much. Thank you, Matthew!”

About: Hey there, my name's Beka and I love critters of all shapes and sizes! Pups hold a special place in my heart. I raised and trained several dogs growing up, and I've spent a lot of time petsitting breeds of various sizes and energy levels throughout the years. That work has included care for litters of young pit puppies, sitting and assisting in the training of a deaf Australian shepherd pup, plus walking dogs of all ages and providing more laid back companionship to elderly canines. I'm comfortable and competent administering medicine and eager to learn the individual needs of your dog. Currently, I live a house with 3 cats and a frog. Other animals I've 'sat' include cats, rats, snakes, and chickens. There's no critter I wouldn't want to meet! Currently I work part time as a Barista and have mostly open availability Sunday through Thursday. If you work long office hours and need someone to get your pal out to stretch their legs, we could be a great fit! Please note that on workdays (thru-sat) I am not available 7:30am-4pm. I take a conscientious approach to house and pet sitting. Your home is your personal space and it's important to me that you feel respected.
“Jed was very professional and helpful with our pups. He kept us updated on the status of them when he went over to let them out. Thank you so much for the help.”

About: I have been taking care of animals my whole life. I have a genuine love for being near animals and taking care of them because they brighten my day. I am currently in college I want to try to make pet sitting a part time job so I can save up for my future. The apartment comples I live in has a dog park where a lot of dogs go and have fun, if there is any type of schedule by the owner/owners I would follow it. I usually try to relax on my free time, reading books and enjoying art, my hobbies give me time to take care of and play with the animals that I care for. The doors are locked unless I or someone with a key unlocks them, i make sure that the dogs have a leash on before I open the door and that there are no cats near the door to run out.
“Kacie was fantastic!! She took great care of my fur baby and sent lots of pictures. You could see how happy my pup was! My dog is a rescue and is shy around strangers and he did great with Kacie. She’s the best! Thank you!!”

“I am really grateful to have found Zash! I appreciated the thorough information gathering in our meet and greet. The updates that I received while I was away were very specific and it was clear to me that Zash really knew my kitty. It’s always difficult to leave your loved one in the care of another, but I felt at ease while traveling, confident that he was in good hands. Thank you Zash!”

“Zach is VERY good and attentive with our elderly Sadie. He gets her to eat which we sometimes can't even do. He's great when on a walk paying attention to not pushing her to go to fast or to far. Thanks Zach!”

“Samantha did a great job dropping in on our two cats. I was able to enjoy my trip so much better knowing the cats were in good hands. She sent tons of photos every day and spent quality time playing with them.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fain Park
My husband and I had planned and booked a 2 week bucket list trip to Peru and were set to leave in 7 weeks. We had arranged our normal pet sitter that we’ve used for years to come and take care of our (almost) 15 year old cat, Mr. Christmas. It was around that time that Mr. Christmas stopped eating. Mr. Christmas had no real health conditions, no meds…and he was declining fast. After extensive testing, imaging, and seeing a specialist, he was diagnosed with either IBD or cancer and was going to need a lot of follow up. He was on multiple oral medications and he still wasn’t eating great. I couldn’t leave him in the house with someone who can only come see him once a day. He needed more support and our normal pet sitter couldn’t provide that for him. I was fully prepared to cancel the trip, but thought I’d go on Rover to see if anyone could match what we were looking for and if anyone would be willing to do what we were asking. We needed three, hour-long visits daily, forcing food at him, weighing him, and administering multiple daily medications. I found Melanie explaining what I was looking for, and I was really impressed that she was up early at 4:30am to message me. Melanie communicated with me each week leading up to our trip. We initially didn’t have a diagnosis and I needed vet clearance to leave him. Melanie asked many questions, and when we finally were told that he was stable enough to leave, she came over to our house with a list of questions to go over with us. He’s got a bit…a lot…of an attitude. She made sure that she didn’t approach him and waited for him to come to her. She was so thoughtful about every detail of their interaction in front of us. My husband and I both felt that even though she is a stranger to us, there was something calming about her and she was very professional. We knew Mr. Christmas would be okay, but I wasn’t expecting him to thrive the way that he did. Melanie never missed a visit. She never asked for anything from me. She communicated with me daily throughout the two weeks. She braved picking him up to put him on the scale multiple times. Mr. Christmas gained weight with Melanie. He wasn’t gaining weight with me at home, but she is just that good. Pictures of Mr. Christmas started with him sleeping alone, and then he got closer and closer to her on the couch. He even started inviting her to watch him in the litter box (I’m mortified), but he only does this with “his people”. Our dog came to visit at home a few days to see Mr. Christmas (they are besties), and Melanie had no problem cuddling our dog while visiting Mr. Christmas. To describe Melanie in one or two words, I would say she is easygoing and pays great attention to detail. She makes everything seem easy and carefree, and my anxiety really appreciated that on this trip. I got home from 15 days away from him, and he is this thick ball of fluffy happiness. He was WELL taken care of. We could have never gone on this trip without Melanie. She is a true gem and I will be referring anyone and everyone I know to her. Love, Ben, Jen, Mr. Christmas, and “his dog” Ruby.

Madison is an absolutely wonderful pet sitter. She took such great care of our cat Lily. She kept us informed every day while we were out of town with updates and pictures for every drop-in. She really put me at ease, knowing our cat was well loved while we were gone. She is very kind and trustworthy and I would definitely have her back again!

Vanessa told fantastic care of our dogs when we were out of the country. She took FANTASTIC photos of them and sent daily updates so we felt very reassured they were in good hands while we were gone! AND our dogs put her through so much drama and she just let it roll off, no big deal! Vanessa is a saint!
Lizzy was an outstanding dog sitter! She took amazing care of my dogs and kept me updated on everything and sent lots of photos! My dogs were super happy to see her highly recommend her as a dog sitter! She even helped with issues involving my fire alarm and stayed for my maintenance people to try and fix it couldn’t have picked a better dog sitter!
This is my second time booking with Matthew for a 5 day trip, and I’m equally as thrilled with his service as the first time. My dog absolutely loves him, and I really appreciate his daily photos and quick recap. He even alerted me to a potential hazard and resolved it right away. I know my dog will be safe, entertained, and loved on when he drops in!

Kate did a terrific job and took excellent care of our pets. She went above and beyond what was expected and took the time to bring in a couple packages that were delivered while we were gone and vacuumed up some kitty litter spillage. We would hire her again in a heartbeat and will recommend her to family and friends.
