Safety, trust & environment
Since my own cat at home is a bit of a diva and wouldn’t be too appreciative of other furry friends, I am limited to pet care in my clients’ homes. I have a flexible schedule and previous experience house sitting, and am always happy to adjust to your pet’s daily routine. Communication is key! Let me know what you (and your pet) prefer.
Information Anita M. would like to know about your pet
As always, please let me know if your pet has any special needs or care requirements so that I can do my best to accommodate! This can be medication/health related, or just some tips regarding their personality, favorite activities, etc. that will better help me get to know them.
A typical day
I love learning every pet’s favorite set of activities, whether that be long walks, sessions at the dog park, or couch cuddles, but I’m also open to new experiences! Exposure was a large part of the training I did when working with guide dogs, and I think it’s a great way to stimulate a dog’s mind without introducing stress. Still, it’s important to remember that every pet is different, so I only do what each pet and their owner are comfortable with.

Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of dogs ranging from tiny newborn puppies to energetic Great Danes, as well as many cats with the variety of personalities they always display. As a result, I’m great at getting to know each pet individually and adapting to the different levels of care and affection they need. Previously, I was also a trainer for guide dogs in training under The Seeing Eye (based out of New Jersey, US). I’ve always had a reputation for being an “animal person” among friends and family. I recently completed an MSc in Veterinary Medical Sciences at the University of Calgary, and in the past have worked at several zoos, animal/nature centers, and farms, so my animal care experience is both honed and diverse. I see pet care as an incredibly rewarding experience and always strive to make sure the animals under my care are happy and healthy.
Reviews

Anita took very good care of my dog and cat. She gave the cat plenty of space and was patient with her introvert ways. Nova even started to hang out in the same area as Anita towards the end of her stay. Anita was injured right before our booking but did not cancel and was positive and upbeat about it. I really appreciate the care she gave our pets. The house was clean and in order when we returned. I would not hesitate to ask Anita to stay with Abby and Nova again.

Anita was wonderful with our critters! She took great care of them and that says a lot because we have a pup with a lot of needs. Anita sent great updates and we felt secure with her being in our home. We will be using her again!

Anita is amazing! We will definitely book either her again!
Anita M. cancelled a booking 4 days before it was scheduled to begin.
