About: I have taken care of and grew up with all kinds of small, medium and large dogs, cats, snakes, lizards, birds, rodents and more. I am signing up for Rover as I love animals and can’t have a per where I live and would love to help care for yours. I live in Nevada City CA and can travel to Lincoln, Roseville or Sac if you’re able to help with reasonable gas compensation. I miss my former roomie’s doggo (Ollie the Shiba Inu featured in many of my pics) sooo much and would love to care for your dearest animal family member. I grew up with animals and have professionally taken care of dogs as a dog walker, as a paid house and overnight dog sitter and cat sitter, and have caretaked for long periods of time professionally for friends’ and many different roommates’ dogs and houses. I love cats and puppies and kitties too!! I am experienced with all kinds of dogs, from elder dogs, to dogs w/ social issues. I love ALL animals and happy to also care for your exotic pet - lizards, geckos, snakes, rats, fish, horses (I love horses too and have some but limited horse care experience). - I literally love all animals! I have volunteered at an exotic zoo doing animal care and feeding, cleaning the cage for several months and even studied abroad in college and lived in Kenya Africa for 3 months to study wildlife management. Fun fact - I got to hold and feed a baby sloth as part of this. I have a flexible and open schedule presently as and am looking for work and pet sitting opportunities. I would love to work with animals that I can continue to build a relationship with - like be your regular dog walker, or maybe you live here part-time and want support for your cat while you’re out of town. I also teach yoga and dance and work online, so my schedule is pretty open. Just reach out - I am happy to be accommodating ☺️🙏🏽 I love going hiking and walking with dogs or adventure cats. I don’t think I’m allowed to have dogs or cats at my Studio apartment, so sadly can’t board your animal. I am happy to come to your home, and can feed/ walk, give meds, brush, and can do other housesitting things like water plants, garden etc.
“This was my first time using Rover. And I was beyond satisfied. Andrew and his family took incredible care of my dog Buster. Andrew kept me informed daily of their activities, including lots of playtime in the yard, daily walks, and lots of love. Andrew was kind enough to send me lots of pictures, which made me smile every day! I felt very lucky that Buster was being so well taken care of. I will definitely book again with Andrew and his family.”

“I can definitely say that after being gone for eight days I was very appreciative for what I came back to. I've had my challenges with the dogs so for someone to come in a take over for a week seemed a little daunting however Yolanda came through with 5 stars... I have no doubt the dogs were well taken care of as all instructions left were meticulously followed and the dogs were definitely well cared for not to mention the house was cleaner then I left it. There's nothing better then coming back from a vacation with well taken care of dogs. Would definitely recommend for worry free dog sitting”
About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was just a baby, all my family members have had puppies and doggies and can always rely on me to watch them when they’ve needed it. On days that I am not working I would love to be walking or sitting dogs! I usually go for morning and sunset walks everyday so I would be happy to have a friend join me! Also am available to watch dogs while you’re away on vacation, just not at my house because I’m not allowed to have pets in my apartment. I will follow exactly how you’d like your dog to be taken care of! Just let me know how you usually do things with them and I’ll do the same, I’ve noticed it’s easier for the dogs because the are used to how their owner does things!
“It was so great to be able to go away and know that our dog was in good hands. Alex was very good with communicating with us and Wolfie just loved spending time with her. We will definitely be using Alex again.”
“Josette is wonderful. We have a dog who can be challenging but she was willing to spend a little extra time to get to know him before we left. She took great care of the dogs and the house, even washing the sheets before she left. Good communication. She made everything easy. We will use her again for sure! Highly recommend.”

About: I have seven years of experience working with wild animals- mainly black bears, Mexican wolves, and Pacific fishers. In handling these animals, among other species, I have taken rectal temps and know how to count breaths/minute and heartbeats/minute. I have administers fluids and vaccines via syringe, and have drawn blood many times. In between my wildlife work, I have watched many dogs, from a 6 pound chihuahua to a 130 Great Dane puppy. I have stayed in-house and have also stopped by for potty and walk breaks. I can take your dog on a 5 mile walk every day if that’s what it’s into! Or, we can snuggle on the couch and watch a movie. Your pet’s experience will be uniquely tailored to its needs. I’m a wildlife biologist working seasonally in town. My wildlife work will begin again in March, but, until then, I would love to spend some time with domestic animals! I love and care for all kinds of animals- whether mammalian, avian, amphibian, or reptile. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat the pet(s) and the home as if it were my own. Pets receive lots of love and attention and walks and treats, while the home is kept clean. I will bring my own food for the days that I am staying there and will make sure everything that I own is gone and the house is clean when you return.
“Christina is absolutely amazing! She took care of our three fur babies providing daily updates daily with pictures. Truly gave us peace of mind knowing they were being cared for so gracefully!”

“We are so happy with Katelan and Brock. Kate came to our house and took great care of our dogs and cat. She kept us updated on how they were doing and was offering to do more house care! She was able to add on a day extra very last minute and was very accommodating to our requests. We felt comfortable with her staying in our home! She did a great job and we will be sure to book her again!”
About: Offering a safe home away from home, compassionate care, and peace of mind for pet owners is something that all pet sitters should be offering. I go far beyond this standard providing both care and training. Since I was a child, dogs and cats have gravitated toward me and I've always enjoyed their companionship; you can almost always find me with at least one dogs around. It's never been an unruly mass of teeth and paws though; I've always taken the time to teach my furry friends to walk on leash, to have immediate recall, to be polite in kitchen, and to use their voices kindly. I do the same with every animal that I am given care of, gently coaching them to be civil, furry companions while showering them with love. I am currently working from home and set my own schedule. I have a set daily morning and evening walk which your pup(s) will join. During the day, you pup(s) will have company of two dogs, three cats and plenty of pets from me. On weekends we go on adventure hikes. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company during the day. I have crates, leashes, grooming tools and home made dog beds for all pet care needs.

“Carrington is simply put an amazing dog sitter. You can feel it from the moment you meet her that this isn’t just a job to her it’s her passion. My dogs fell in love with her from our meet & greets to now getting to spend a full day of fun & play. I was dreading losing a day with my pups due to work but I can honestly say it was a blessing in disguise. Obi & Koda are ready to wind down after a long day of fun with their new best friend. She kept me informed from beginning to end, no anxiety or feeling of dread I know they were both happy all day long with the most adorable pictures as proof. Thank you so much Carrington!”

“Shanti is absolutely wonderful! If I could leave her 10 stars, I would. She is very pleasant, responsible, and she took fantastic care of our two high maintenance cats and the house. I am so happy I found her!”

“We recently had Christopher stay with our two French bulldogs for 7 days, and he did a great job. It looks like he followed our guidelines; he sent just enough pictures, and when we were quiet for a few days, I reached out, and he always responded quickly. The pups seemed good when we got home. Even the mail lady said he was really nice. We would definitely invite him back.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Evergreen Estates
Anna did great with our two labordoodles. She came several times a day to check on them and let them outside. She texted and sent several pictures of them playing. She tended to one of the boys who had healing wound on his back. We came home to healthy happy dogs. Definitely recommend her services.

My kitties are always so happy and relaxed when I come home and after Raina has been caring for them. It's clear to me that she is attentive and affectionate with my babies. Plus she was so kind as to bring them catnip as a gift her first time around. Absolutely wonderful house/cat sitter!

Natalie was prompt, professional, and warm with our two dogs. She sent us pictures of them along with some check ins. She went above and beyond to take great care of them and we especially appreciated the sweet note she left us after her stay. We will definitely use her again and heartily recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost of House Sitting in Evergreen Estates is $57 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $28 and $77 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.
As of November 2026, there are 457 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Evergreen Estates. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Evergreen Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Evergreen Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Evergreen Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
