Lehna is super communicative and incredibly kind! She took care of my dog Kona while I was on vacation and when I came back Kona was so happy. I knew that she was in good hands with Lehna. Lehna made sure that Kona wasn’t anxious while I was gone. Lehna kept in touch and sent photos. I definitely recommend Lehna, I know I’ll be booking her again!

About: I’ve been around cats and dogs my whole life, and I’m comfortable caring for animals of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I grew up with cats and was lucky enough to have a litter born in my room, so I’ve been around them from the very beginning. I also grew up with dogs of all sizes and personalities, from playful high-energy dogs to older dogs who need a gentler pace and a little more support. I’m especially patient with animals that are shy, skittish, cautious, or slow to warm up. I know not every cat or dog wants to be approached the same way, and I try to meet them on their terms, earn their trust, and make the interaction feel safe and positive. Whether that means a walk, playtime, quiet companionship, or giving them space, I want your pet to feel comfortable with me. When I take care of an animal, I treat them like they’re my own. I’m attentive with feeding, water, litter boxes, walks, routines, house instructions, and updates. My goal is simple: for you to feel confident while you’re away, and for your pet to get care, attention, and comfort from our time together. I currently have flexible availability and can work with different pet-care needs, including walks, drop-in visits, cat care, and in-home pet sitting. I’m available for weekdays, weekends, and overnights depending on the request, and I’m happy to discuss your pet’s normal routine so I can keep things as consistent as possible while you’re away. I do not offer boarding in my home at this time. For walks, drop-ins, and house sitting, I care for pets in their own home and follow the owner’s instructions closely. I pay attention to feeding routines, fresh water, litter boxes, doors, locks, leash safety, and keeping pets secure and comfortable. I’ll also provide updates so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.

Deborah kindly met us a week before she sat for our large golden doodle. We had our son’s wedding in HMB. Deborah was very accommodating and arranged a working situation to handle our Eliot for a the long day in a hotel. And when asked to add a puppy of a bridesmaid, she happily cared for two distinctly different dogs- large and older/ puppy and miniature. Deborah easily manages dogs large, small, young and old. I’d highly recommend her for any dog owner!!

About: Dogs have had a special place in my heart for as long as I can remember. Unable to have pets at home as a kid, I sought out opportunities to play with and care for dogs at a young age. Since then, I've... -had my own pets (yayyy!) -volunteered as a puppy foster mom -run large-scale fundraiser events for dog lovers + their dogs, benefiting local shelters -pet sit for 20+ years! (both in my home as well as the pet's home) I am truly comfortable and content with all dogs, from playful puppies and selective seniors, to doggos livin' large. I am happy to reinforce basic training and leash commands you are working on at home. I reward pawsitive behavior through affection, affirmation, and...treats!!! (where applicable of course - not for dogs on diets) :) Along with my 20+ years of experience in pet and house sitting, I have 10+ years of experience as a professional nanny and 2+ years of experience as a personal chef. I know how to treat others' homes, and loved ones, with respect, loving care, and confidentiality. I currently work from home, with flexibility to take breaks and walks throughout the day. I like to go on walks and hikes, and I’m happy to bring your dog along for the adventure if applicable. Health, safety, and happiness of your dog is my top priority. I want your doggie to live their best life while I am with them, and that means lots of love and adventuring (depending on your pup). If your dog is on the shy and/or anxious side, I provide space for them to come to me when the time is right. In an emergency, remaining calm, following procedure, and staying in good communication with you stays top of mind.

About: With over 20 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, I am a passionate and dedicated pet owner. My love for dogs extends beyond simply providing for their basic needs, as I regularly take them on hikes and runs to keep them active and engaged. Additionally, my military training experience has taught me discipline, attentiveness, and responsibility, all of which I apply to pet care. Whether it's administering medication or simply providing companionship, I approach pet care with the same level of commitment and focus as any other task. My goal is to ensure that every dog in my care receives the highest quality of attention and affection possible. As someone who works fully remote, I have the flexibility to incorporate pet care into my daily routine seamlessly. I schedule regular walks, runs, and playtime with my furry friends throughout the day, ensuring they receive the exercise and attention they need. Whether it's taking a mid-day break for a game of fetch or incorporating a walk into my lunch break, I prioritize pet care as an essential part of my daily routine. My commitment to maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle for my pets allows me to provide the best possible care for them. I provide attentive, tailored care to pets in both my home and my client's home, depending on the service needed. Whether it's daily visits to feed, walk, and play with a pet in their home, or full-time boarding in my own home, I ensure that each animal receives the individual attention and care they require. From administering medication to adhering to specific dietary needs, I am dedicated to providing the highest level of care for every pet. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable environment where each animal can thrive and feel loved.

About: I’ve cared for dogs my entire life, including Pomeranians, Jack Russell Terriers, German Shepherds, and mixed-breed dogs of all sizes. My experience ranges from energetic, high-drive breeds that need plenty of exercise and engagement to laid-back companions who prefer a slower pace. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, training reinforcement, or simply companionship, I provide patient, dependable care and treat every pet as if they were my own. I work full-time supporting adults with developmental disabilities, so reliability, patience, and attention to detail are part of my everyday life. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I enjoy spending my free time with animals. In addition to caring for dogs and cats throughout my life, I also have experience with small birds and bearded dragons. I am available afternoons, evenings, and weekends and will work to maintain your pet’s normal schedule so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I believe every pet deserves individualized care based on their personality, routine, and needs. I carefully follow feeding instructions, medication schedules, exercise requirements, and any household rules provided by owners. Safety is always my top priority, whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or during walks and visits. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet in someone else’s care, and I strive to provide dependable communication and updates throughout each stay.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years and truly love getting to know each one’s personality. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and look after their dogs of all breeds and sizes. I’m comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, and those who need a little extra patience or training. Whether it’s playtime, long walks, or quiet cuddles, I make sure every dog feels safe, loved, and happy while in my care. I’m currently working part time, I can care for your pet before work and after work. I will work less than 12 hours a week so I’m hoping to be available often. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always treat their space with the same respect as my own. I follow each pet’s routine closely to help them feel comfortable and secure. I make sure doors and gates are always locked, water bowls are fresh, and pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and love. I send regular photo updates so you can feel confident your furry family member is happy and safe while you’re away.

Lehna is phenomenal and now my go-to person! She took care of my dog, Lyla, an older dog who has some special medical needs in addition to her daily care. Lehna paid close attention to our directions and took especial care in documenting Lyla's health and routine day-by-day. She is also very observant and proactive, checking for things that I myself didn't think to mention! While I usually have some anxiety about taking time away from Lyla, Lehna's fantastic work allowed both myself and my partner to have a peaceful vacation. I can't recommend her enough and will be solely using her services from now on!

Amber seems trustworthy and conscientious, and she is an excellent dog sitter. One of my dogs is sweet, but also high-energy and not always a good listener. In no time, Amber gently coaxed him into behaving quite well. He was even behaving better for me after her visit. She also paid attention to my quieter dog,, who sometimes gets overlooked.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a El Granada stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in El Granada. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
