About: Hi, I'm Katelyn! I've always had a strong love for animals and have grown up around dogs my entire life. Being around pets from a young age has helped me become comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have looked after my neighbors' dogs and cats, which has allowed me to work with a variety of personalities, routines, and individual care needs. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I make it a priority to help them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you're away. I provide dependable dog walking and pet care with plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, or a slower pace, I'll tailor each visit to their needs. I'm attentive to details, follow care instructions carefully, and always treat pets as if they were my own. My goal is to give pet parents peace of mind by providing reliable care and regular updates. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! As a college student currently on summer break, I have a flexible schedule and am available for a variety of dog walking and pet care needs throughout the week. I do my best to accommodate different schedules and provide reliable care when pet owners need an extra helping hand. Whether you need regular walks or occasional visits, I'm happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet's routine. I also make it a priority to keep my availability calendar up to date and will communicate as early as possible if I become aware of any scheduling conflicts. Clear communication and reliability are important to me, and I want pet owners to feel confident when booking with me. For drop-ins and walks, I come in, let your dog out, and take them on a walk or give them a potty break depending on what they need. I refill water, feed them if that’s part of the visit, and clean up after them. I also spend a bit of time playing or giving attention so they’re not just in and out. Before I leave, I make sure everything is locked up and your dog is safe and settled. I’ll send you a quick update after each visit so you know how it went.

About: I have always been lucky enough to have a dog growing up. I have looked after my neighbors pets multiple times as well. I am very comfortable around all types. As for cats I have never personally taken care of any but I do volunteer at the shelter that has both cats and dogs. When I come to take care of, play with, and walk your dogs I will dedicate my time to loving them and treat them as if they were my own. I have one family dog named Charles. He is a Lagotto Romagnolo and he truly is my bestfriend. I am interning at an accounting firm and I work Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 to 5 pm. I am free to pet sit these days too after 5. Since I sit at a desk all day, I have a lot of energy leftover and love going on walks and playing with my dog in the evening. Hopefully in the future yours too!! I currently have a dog and he is a big part of my life. I love exercising and everyone I do cardio he joins me for my walks. He loves playing fetch so I am used to that. I also just love a pets affection and love. I constantly walk my dog, take him to the dog park (even though all he does is sit in the shade), I feed him every night and give him infinite kisses!
About: I have always loved animals since I was little and have had various furry friends throughout my life. I have cared for dogs from miniature Poodles to German Shepherds; each animal has their own unique personality and I look forward to meeting them all. I have embraced retirement, so I have lots of time to spend with your furry family. From walking your neighborhood, exploring various trails, or just play time at the park or home, I will give your pet the love and attention I would my own pets. I currently have two cats, who are indoor only. They are played with daily, although half the time they just sleep in the sun. My current home project is to build them a catio so they can sleep there too.
“Lauren did a fabulous job taking care of our chocolate Labrador over several days this last week! We came home to a happy dog and everything looked great in our home upon our return. She sent detailed updates about her visits, including photos and video, and gave our pup lots of love and exercise everyday (even in inclement weather!) Her communication skills are top-notch, and her care and love for animals is evident. We look forward to having Lauren take care of our dog in the near future ~ we recommend Lauren highly and we are lucky to have found her!”

About: I have over 8 years of experience working with animals and more than 3 years of hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant in small animal hospitals. Through both professional and personal experience, I’ve cared for pets of different breeds, personalities, ages, and medical needs. What sets me apart is my understanding of animal behavior and health. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets, anxious pets, high-energy dogs, and pets requiring medications or extra monitoring. Because of my veterinary background, I’m also able to recognize early signs of stress or illness and communicate concerns quickly with owners if needed. I genuinely enjoy building trust with animals and making them feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. Since I spend much of my time studying from home outside of work, I’m able to give pets lots of attention, companionship, exercise, and supervision during visits. Whether your pet loves playtime, long walks, cuddles, or a calm relaxing presence, I adapt to their individual needs and personality. I currently work Monday through Wednesday from 8 AM to 6 PM, so on those days I’m available for walks, drop-ins, pet sitting after work hours. Outside of that schedule, I’m mostly home studying, which allows me to provide lots of attention and supervision. From Thursday through Sunday I have a very flexible schedule and can usually provide care throughout the day. Your pet will rarely be left alone for long periods, and I love spending time walking, playing, cuddling, and keeping pets mentally and physically engaged. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I have experience working as a veterinary assistant in animal hospitals, so I’m comfortable caring for puppies, senior pets, anxious dogs, and pets with medical needs or medications. I have a good understanding of animal behavior and can recognize early signs of stress or illness quickly. I provide a calm, clean, and supervised environment with plenty of affection, enrichment, and rest.
“Rylie did a 30 minute drop-in on our 4 month old puppy while we were out. She came by early so we could meet her, then did the check on Meadow a few hours later. She was prompt and spent the time allotted with Meadow letting her out to go potty and playing with her. We will be happy to use Rylie again to watch our golden doodle girl. Thank you Rylie!”

“Barbara is a nice responsible person who took such good care or our cat. I really think they both liked each other a lot after just the first meeting. And Barbara was fantastic in her Communication with us. Really could not ask for more. Thank you Barbara!.”

About: Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always been surrounded by animals! My next-door neighbor would trust me for weeks at a time to take care of her old cat, and I would always take care of my pets when my parents weren’t home. Over the past year and a half, I worked at a local veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant! I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages. I’ve decided to take on pet-sitting full time while I finish college with my career goal being a veterinarian! I also own a leopard gecko, giving me experience handling exotic reptiles! Whether your pets need frequent potty breaks, walks, play-dates, or any sort of medication, I’m your gal! Your pet’s safety and well-being will always be my top priority! I’m currently unemployed, and about to finish my college semester- giving me of the time in the world to work with you and your pets! My availability will always be flexible and I will be attentive to any of your needs. I live with one (soon to be two) dogs! My current dog is very sweet and sociable- she loves to make new friends! I’m used to taking big and small dogs on walks, and am more than willing to take your pet on a playdate with mine! I can crate your animal, prepare special meals, and clean up after them if they’re used to going potty in your backyard! Same thing applies to cats and their litter-boxes! I will always be sure to make sure your pets are comfortable while you’re away.
“Rachel was wonderful with my dogs and made me feel comfortable leaving them in her care. She was right on schedule, which made me at ease leaving them alone inside. She sent updates and pictures, which were nice to receive. We will definitely use her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - El Dorado Hills
Lauren was so amazing and kind! She makes sure to follow your pet’s cues. I will absolutely book her again! She helped me out with a last minute booking in an unusual situation. She was so understanding and non judgmental. I’m so grateful to have found her. She went above and beyond.

Carmen and her daughter made us feel so reassured our puppy was in the best hands on her first vacation. Carmen gave our high maintenance pup lots of love and us updates with photos, videos and updates. Our puppy loved them right away and was so happy during her vacation. Carmen reinforced our puppy’s training and gave her so many walkies that our puppy already misses her vacation with Carmen! Carmen treated our pup like her own, taking her on car rides and letting her sleep on her bed. We highly recommended Carmen!

Rachel was absolutely phenomenal and we feel so lucky to have found her 🤍 She stepped in last minute and even took the time to come by the day before for a meet and greet, which meant so much. From the moment she arrived, it was clear how comfortable and happy our Labrador puppy Betty was with her. Rachel was attentive, playful, and so thoughtful with her care. She made sure Betty got her potty breaks, playtime, and even adjusting when she started to get a little wild (puppy energy 😂). We loved the updates and photos, and it was obvious Betty had the best time. Knowing Betty was in such kind, capable hands gave us total peace of mind. We would 100% trust Rachel again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring, and truly wonderful with dogs 🐾

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Makaila was so kind and caring, and it was clear from the start how much she genuinely loves animals. Makaila kept in great communication with me throughout the stay and sent the cutest pictures that gave me so much peace of mind. She treated my pets as if they were her own and went above and beyond to make sure they were happy and comfortable. I’m so grateful for the care and attention she provided, and I will absolutely be booking with Makaila again in the future.
Ericka was excellent to work with. I booked two consecutive weekends fairly last minute but she responded promptly and was super flexible when scheduling the first meet and greet. Ericka has a sweet and gentle demeanor and is clearly a “cat person” in the way she approached and interacted with Kitty. She listened closely to my care directions and asked great follow-up questions that helped her get to know Kitty’s personality. Ericka arrived to each scheduled visit on time, took care of Kitty exactly as instructed, and sent plenty of pictures! I recommend and will be using Ericka’s services again :)

Carolanna made me feel at ease from day one. She was always communicative, responsive, and made me feel confident leaving my two cats in her care while I was on vacation. She went above and beyond to make sure they were happy and well looked after, and it was clear how much love she gave them. I highly recommend her and will definitely continue booking her to care for my pets in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
