“Five Star All The Way Lauren was exceptional. She was dependable, reliable, loving, and sweet to our Abby girl. She arrived on time every time and went above and beyond. A gem of a person and we will definitely be using her again. I felt safe having her in our home and with our pup.”

About: Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always been surrounded by animals! My next-door neighbor would trust me for weeks at a time to take care of her old cat, and I would always take care of my pets when my parents weren’t home. Over the past year and a half, I worked at a local veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant! I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages. I’ve decided to take on pet-sitting full time while I finish college with my career goal being a veterinarian! I also own a leopard gecko, giving me experience handling exotic reptiles! Whether your pets need frequent potty breaks, walks, play-dates, or any sort of medication, I’m your gal! Your pet’s safety and well-being will always be my top priority! I’m currently unemployed, and about to finish my college semester- giving me of the time in the world to work with you and your pets! My availability will always be flexible and I will be attentive to any of your needs. I live with one (soon to be two) dogs! My current dog is very sweet and sociable- she loves to make new friends! I’m used to taking big and small dogs on walks, and am more than willing to take your pet on a playdate with mine! I can crate your animal, prepare special meals, and clean up after them if they’re used to going potty in your backyard! Same thing applies to cats and their litter-boxes! I will always be sure to make sure your pets are comfortable while you’re away.
“Irina did a great job taking care of our two dogs while we were away. She did drop in visits twice a day and sent lots of photos and updates. She was professional and helpful. We hope to have her watch our dogs again for future vacations.”

About: I’m a part-time working mom looking to fill my free hours doing what I love! I have my own special needs dog (cleft palate), and have fostered dogs previously, one with spina bifida. I’ve been raised with cats and dogs my entire life, as well as birds and small critters as a child! I’ve always cared for neighbors’ dogs and cats, as well ad housesat, and spent a lot of my childhood shadowing and spending time with my cousin who was a veterinarian. I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of free time throughout the week to come check on and spend time with your doggos! My schedule does change and fluctuate, but I can typically work around and with it. I don’t care for pets in my home, but when I care for them in yours, I will always treat them as my own while following all of your rules and guidelines. I know how important that is to me when someone watches my special needs dogs, so I will always respect and follow any and all instructions!

I am available everyday except for Tuesday's and Thursday's. As long as I have two days notice I have no issue doing check-ins, walks, or watching your furry friends with whatever schedule works best! “Lacee was excellent with our 4 chickens while we were on vacation for 2 weeks! She came by every day to make sure their needs were met. I really appreciated how she followed our detailed instructions and checklists. She was very thorough in her care with them and made sure they were given their frozen treats and water during the hot summer days in her care. We hope to book Lacee in the future for another chicken care event! 🐤😊”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have been caring for other people’s pets since high school. Throughout high school and college, I regularly dog- and cat-sat for friends, neighbors, and friends of friends, gaining hands-on experience with a variety of animals, personalities, and routines. My experience includes overnight pet sitting, caring for multiple pets at once, looking after puppies, and administering medications. I’m comfortable stepping in to maintain pets’ usual feeding, exercise, and care routines while their owners are away, whether that means caring for one pet or managing the needs of a whole household of animals. Pet sitting is something I genuinely enjoy, and after years of caring for animals both growing up and independently, I’ve developed a good understanding of the responsibility involved and take pride in providing dependable, attentive care. I recently moved back home after spending 10 months living in Madrid, and I currently work part-time remotely. Because of my flexible schedule, I can accommodate a variety of pet care needs, whether that's daytime walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, or keeping your pet company throughout the day. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I'm committed to being reliable, communicative, and making sure your pet receives the attention and care they deserve. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I know that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I take the time to learn what makes them feel most comfortable and stick as closely as possible to their normal routine. I pay close attention to body language and behavior to recognize when a pet is relaxed, excited, or anxious. Whether we're going for walks, playing, feeding, or just relaxing together, I strive to create a calm, positive environment where your pet feels safe, cared for, and loved. I also understand that leaving your pet with someone new can be stressful for both you and your pet. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your fur baby is happy, safe, and in good hands!!
About: I have cared for pets of all sizes, ages, and needs! I am comfortable with caring for animals needing extra attention, elder pets, administering medication if needed, and making it my standard to treat your pet like my own! I myself have two kitties and a dog, so I know how important it is that they are around people with relaxing and good energy, which I can provide! A fun fact about me is that I am an Air Force veteran, so I am responsible and reliable!! I am currently a full-time student at Sacramento State, so I am at school from 9-10:15am Monday through Thursday starting this fall, which allows me to be available for your pet before and after class! I also work part-time from home on Mondays and Wednesdays and Fridays :) When I pet sit, I make sure that I leave the space I am pet sitting in just as it was when I arrived, if not cleaner. I respect the environments I am welcomed into and show my gratitude for any opportunity to fill a space by treating it as my own!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Green Springs Ranch
Tayler has helped us on three separate occasions, and she was amazing every time. She is incredibly thorough on understanding care needs, and her medical background made it very easy to care for our high-need senior diabetic cat, including administering both oral and injection-based medications. But beyond all of this, she prioritized understanding the right way to connect and socialize with each pet to ensure they get love and attention while we were away. You'd be very lucky to have Tayler care for your fur babies.

Lauren watched Fred and George again, and we had another great experience! Even when my communication was lacking, she was on top of everything and made things so easy for us. She’s reliable, friendly, and we’re so grateful to have found someone we trust with our boys!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
