I had a last-minute need for a dog walker and was lucky to find Sabrina. She arrived on time, took my dog on a nice, long walk, and even went above and beyond by putting my trash can back. Communication was excellent. Highly recommend!

Taylor was great, she took the time to learn everything about our request. Very professional and on time. We got plenty of messages and pictures. Our dogs were very receptive to her, and they loved her. I would definitely ask her to do dogsitting for us again.

About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my passion for making others feel at home—and that extends to pets, too! I’ve been caring for pets on and off since I was 10, bringing years of experience and a genuine love for animals. My background in powerlifting and fitness means I can keep up with pets of all sizes and energy levels, ensuring they get the exercise and attention they need. As a hospitality student at CCSU, I value professionalism and attentive care, so you can trust that your furry family members will feel safe, comfortable, and loved with me. Right now, pet sitting fits perfectly into my schedule as I’m currently taking online classes. Walking and caring for pets has become a part of my healing journey, helping me stay active and fit. Since I’m taking online classes, I have a flexible schedule, with most availability during the day. Adding dog walking and pet sitting to my routine not only helps me but also gives me the opportunity to bring joy to your furry family members! PS Tell your dog and or cat I say hi! When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I prioritize following my clients’ detailed instructions to meet their furry family members’ needs. I take the time to learn each pet’s favorite safe spots, making sure they feel comfortable and secure while their owner is away. My goal is not just to provide care, but to offer companionship, so pets know I’m there as a friendly, trusted presence and a new friend while they wait for their family to return.

Kristina was awesome with my Jack. I knew immediately how much of a conscientious person she was when she started asking questions at the meet and greet. She kept us totally up to date with Jack including plenty of photos. She made sure he ate because sometimes when we’re not home he doesn’t want to eat. She even stayed a bit longer with Jack knowing he would be alone the rest of the time. Jack fell in love with Kristina right away. Best of all, she braved the harsh weather and made it to the house to take care of Jack. Plenty of snow came down and she still made it to the house. The driveway was not plowed until the third day. She even sat down with Jack while he slept. I was totally impressed with her service. I definitely recommend her to anyone. I will continue using her from now on as long as she’s available.

About: I’ve taken care and grown up with different kinds of dogs all my life. I can handle multiple dogs. Fun fact: My family has five dogs and six cats! I currently have a pretty flexible schedule and can usually accommodate a variety of times throughout the week. Although I work part time, I make pet care a priority and always make sure pets get the attention, care, and consistency they need while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes and personalities, and I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for them. I also have access to a fenced yard if needed, and I make sure every pet gets plenty of attention, supervision, exercise, and care while they’re with me.

About: I’ve taken care of family and friends pets for free for years, everything from small cats to large pit bulls. I’m a genuine pet lover but due to travel have been unable to have my own so I love the opportunity to help others with their furry companions. I currently work part-time so I’ll have plenty of time to play with and take care of your pets. I work mostly in the mornings 3-4 days a week. I will not be boarding pets, however in my home we have a fenced in yard that we allow our dogs to play around in under supervision a few times a day and then he is taken on leashed walks at least twice a day.

About: Hi, my name is Elle. I have been dog sitting for about six years now. When I was growing up there was always at least one dog in the house. My favorite thing to do is train puppies. One of my dogs I trained to be my certified emotional support animal for my anxiety on planes. I am currently doing school online and have a lot of spare time on my hands. Sadly I don't have my dogs with me so I am looking for some new furry friends to look after. Even though I don't live in a place with a fenced in yard I would be able to take your friends to a nearby dog park. I love all animals and I can't wait to make new best friends!

About: About Me Hi! My name is Martin. I recently graduated from Fairfield Prep and will be attending Penn State University this fall. Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs and currently have a Black Labrador of my own, which has given me years of hands-on experience caring for, exercising, feeding, and understanding dogs of all personalities and energy levels. Friends, family members, and neighbors have trusted me to care for their dogs while they travel, work, or need an extra hand. Whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, playtime, feeding, or simply making sure a dog feels comfortable and safe, I take that responsibility seriously. As a very active person, I genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors and making sure dogs get the exercise, attention, and companionship they need. My goal is not just to watch your dog, but to make them feel happy, comfortable, and at home while you’re away. I understand that leaving your pet with someone else requires trust. That’s why I prioritize communication, reliability, and providing regular photo and video updates so you can feel confident your dog is being well cared for. Every dog is treated like family, and I will care for your pet with the same attention and respect that I give my own. I work weekdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, which allows me to dedicate the rest of my day to pet care, walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. On weekends, I have full availability and can provide flexible care throughout the day. I am also available for overnight stays and house sitting, and I prioritize keeping pets on their normal routines so they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while their owners are away. I respond quickly, communicate clearly, and provide regular photo and video updates for peace of mind. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. As a lifelong dog owner, I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing proper exercise, and creating a calm, positive environment. I carefully follow all feeding schedules, medication instructions, and owner preferences. Whether caring for your pet in my home or yours, I treat every animal as if they were my own and make sure they receive plenty of attention, supervision, affection, and exercise. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication throughout every stay so you always know your pet is happy and doing well.

About: I have taken care of many dogs since I was 14. I can take care of a high energy puppy who needs to get all of their energy out. I love spending time with older, calmer dogs as well who need just as much love. I am very on top of it when taking care of your pets and will make sure they get the best care possible. I also have experience with cats and can make sure they are as comfortable as possible. I am also very flexible in the type of care and the times you need! i’m not really busy during the summer so I have plenty of time to watch your pets. I do have a part-time restaurant job, but I only work once to twice a week. I have a big yard for your dog to roam around. I would need you to provide a crate or a leash for your pets.

About: Im comfortable working with friendly dogs of different ages, including puppies who need extra attention and older dogs who may need a slower, more gentle approach. Plus, my dog is very friendly and enjoys the company, which can help other dogs feel more comfortable and social. I’m currently in school for ultrasound, so with my full-time schedule, I’ve been looking for a flexible way to earn some extra income. I really enjoy walking my dog, and I’m interested in turning that into a small business to help others who need dog walking services while also building connections with other dogs. My dog is very friendly and would definitely enjoy the extra company. I care for pets in both my home and my client’s home, depending on the service. I make sure they have a safe, clean space, follow their feeding and walking routines, and give them plenty of attention. When I’m in a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely to keep their pet comfortable and cared for.

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
