About: Hi, I'm Alessandra! Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I cared for everything from turtles, a bird, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits to two Golden Retrievers. Today, I have a cat and Golden Retriever of my own, so I know firsthand just how much our pets are a part of the family. As a Rover-user myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you genuinely trust to care for your pet. I also know that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I’m always happy to tailor my care accordingly. I work remotely and am based in Newtown, which gives me a pretty flexible schedule for house sitting and/or walks and drop-ins throughout the day. I’m reliable, communicative, and mindful of the little things that make a big difference - following your routine and care instructions, respecting your home, keeping your pet comfortable & happy, and sending plenty of updates along the way. My goal is to make sure you feel just as comfortable with me caring for your pet as I’d want to feel with someone caring for mine! I also offer house sitting, and since I can work from almost anywhere, I’m able to spend plenty of time with your pets and keep their routine as normal as possible while you’re away. My schedule varies week to week, but I’ll always communicate my availability upfront and make sure I can accommodate your pet’s needs before accepting a booking. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care, so my priority is making sure both you and your pet feel comfortable. I’ll take the time to understand their personality, routine, and needs, while paying attention to the little things (securing gates & doors, keeping items out of reach, etc.) that keep them safe and happy. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands and getting plenty of love and attention!

About: I have plenty of experience being around and helping take care of dogs all ages sizes and breeds! I love pups who want to run around or just lounge on the couch! I’m more than happy to treat yours like my own. I’m currently a full time second year graduate student at SHU, but my classes are mostly in the morning. I have some long days but always finish before 5. Fridays are wide open including weekends and most days I’m done fairly early! I am happy to accommodate whatever safety measures make you and your pup comfortable! If they need to be crated that’s perfectly fine, if they can run around without a leash that’s also great too!

About: I’ve taken care of elderly dogs that required medication multiple times a day, reactive dogs, and very large dogs. I don’t mind working with challenging dogs. I’m currently in school to be a vet tech so I will be unavailable wednesdays. Other than that I have an open schedule. Prefer 1 week notice. I can do whatever the client needs including walking, feeding, administering meds (including topicals and injectibles) and I have absolutely no problem playing with your pup all day.

About: I’ve grown up with animals of all kinds from as early as I can remember. Being the oldest of my siblings I was the first to have to take on the pet care chores, and this included both our dogs and our cats, and the other types of animals we had in our household. I have pet care experience with dogs and cats, as well as other pets too. When I moved out on my own with my previous partner (2012-2017) we had adopted three rescued cats, and I was the main administer of the diabetic cat’s insulin and late IV fluid treatments. My ex kept our cats in the split, but in 2018 I adopted my first dog completely on my own. She’s a rescue pit bull mix and now, with my current husband, she is joined by another rescued pit bull mix and a rescued cat. Last year we also adopted a red ear slider turtle off the street in Philadelphia and he now enjoys his aquatic terrarium with his guppy and pleco friends. In 2023 I briefly worked for a dog walking company in Ridgefield and was bit by one of the client’s dogs, unprovoked, and because of that I left the service after being blamed for the outburst and attack (despite telling the owners and the employer that the dog was getting increasingly aggressive with me and I wasn’t comfortable walking him anymore). It was the only time I had ever had an animal turn on me like that and it made me rethink working for a service where I wasn’t listened to or given proper protection. My husband and I have been Rover clients since we moved to Connecticut in 2023 and I am very happy to say we have never had a negative experience, which is why I have decided to lend my services to other pets and families in the area that are in need of an experienced pet caretaker. I am a professional actor so I have days that are marked off for auditions and work or rehearsals, however it is not a consistent time or place. I work throughout the Northeast, NYC, and the Mid Atlantic currently with my acting opportunities, but I am also open to short term travel as well. Because of that, my availability is very open some weeks and not as much on others, depending on what projects I am currently involved in and what the scheduling is like. I would love to spend more time your pets in my downtime and give them the attention they require, since mine are pretty saturated in it regularly. I have two dogs, which are extremely friendly and love other dogs, people, and cats! Our cat is very aloof so they wouldn’t be seen much in cases where pet sitting at my home is needed. Our yard is not fenced in but I am very accustomed to taking them out for walks, or having them leashed under my supervision in our yard. Because I live in Newtown, there are plenty of places to get some quality walks in, and we are also not far from open public dog parks either if that suits your furry friend! I also have my own car which I am more than comfortable transporting your pet in or coming to you for check ins or walks. Our dogs are up to date on vaccines so that is not a worry either, and I am diligent in making sure everyone has a great time when their friends (and our human friends) are over too!

About: My name is Katiana Thoby and I have been dog sitting since 2017. I am able to watch your cute pets any time of the week (unless the day is marked off)! You will love my patience, kindness, and affection towards the dog. I've watched my friends' dogs before and learned how to work with them and take care of them properly. I enjoyed playing some games like fetch and running around with them. Since my parents don't like animals, I can't have my own dog. When I have my own house, I want a dog of my own so this will be a good experience for me. Thank you and I hope to work with you soon.. I am currently working full time so I will be available to dog sit on the weekends or tuesdays after 5:30pm! Just let me know in advance and I can open a booking for you. I will be available on some holidays but I will let you know in advance! Please make sure to book at least two days in advance. That way, I can make sure I don’t have any other appointments that day. I may accommodate some last minute bookings if I am available the whole stay period. Most of the time, they stay indoors and I attend to them as much as possible! They will be fed on the times provided and well taken care of! If you would like me to provide a bath as well, please let me know. I love playing with them so I usually bring your pets to the park as long as the owner is okay with it (also provides a leash)!

About: I retired several years ago and love dogs. I have had dogs all my life and we currently are home to four beautiful dogs. I’ve seen everything you could expect with a dog and can handle any situation calmly and lovingly. I’m retired and looking for something to keep me occupied. I have a very flexible schedule and love dogs so I can be available at almost anytime you would need me. We have a large yard and quiet neighborhood on a culdesac. It’s perfect for walking and exploring. We are also close to the land trust for those extra special walks

My household has raised many types of breeds, from German shepherds to golden retrievers to miniature schnauzers. I live very close to a state park for long walks, a fenced in pool area, and spacious backyard. Since my yard is not fenced in, I allow the dogs to roam freely within the pool area or take multiple walks per day in my neighborhood. I currently work part-time and my daily schedule tends to vary; however, your pet is my priority before and after my scheduled shift.
