Arika did an incredible job taking care of Orion, our cat while we were away for a week. She brushed him every day, brought interesting toys for him to try out, and gave him lots of amazing care and attention! She even sent pix and videos. She also did small details like bring in the mail and even asked if we needed plants to be watered. She ended up watering our garden boxes which kept our plants alive while we were away. We would highly recommend Arika! She is kind and very professional and we were so happy that our cat had such great care.

So far we’ve had one drop-in visit from Sarah and it worked out great. I love that the girls get a chance to go outside to run around, play, and potty while I’m at work. I was happy to get the summary of the visit and some pictures as well. Sarah did a great job and it gave me some comfort knowing that she also has a dog of her own.

Kelli was a total trooper and went above and beyond what I hired her to do, which was just check in on my elderly pups while I took a me day to hike with friends. For some reason the lock on my side gate failed after she took one of them on a walk. We eventually sorted it out but Kelli was kind enough to stay with my girls while I tried to get a neighbor to help since I was 1.5hrs away in the mountains. Through out the whole ordeal Kelli was super patient and understanding, a total angel.

Having grown up with dogs, I have constantly been around them and have grown to be comfortable with them. I am also willing to learn and adapt to take care of and meet the needs of your animal as best as possible. Every time I go to walk, play, or take care of your dogs, I will commit to showing them all the love while you are away! I have a dog of my own- a while Terrier Mix that is always full of energy! I am currently on summer break from college, so I have a ton of availability and am able to accommodate lots of walks, drop-ins, and house sittings as needed. I am also able to accept last-minute bookings! When in your home, I would love to take your doggy on walks or to the park. Anything that you already do to make your dog feel comfortable! When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for by sticking to their normal routine as closely as possible. About: I’ve taken care of a dog and a cat from a very young age. I know what it takes to tend to their needs and ensure that they’re are happy and safe! 🐶❤️ I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to play and take care of your furry friends! I’ve always loved animals since I can remember and being able to take care of your furry friends would be a pleasure! At home, I have a spacious backyard where my dog can run freely and take care of all her needs. Instead of kibble, I feed her fresh food to keep her healthy and make sure she’s getting all the proper nutrients she needs. She gets a monthly grooming session with specialized shampoo for her skin and fur. At night, she sleeps with a cozy blanket on her bed, which is right next to mine. At a clients home, I will tend to any needs the furry friend will possibly need. Whether it’s from playing with your 4 month old puppy to cuddling with your senior dog, or taking your dog out just for a nice walk. Just let me know what needs to be done and I’ll be more than happy to do it! :D

About: I absolutely love animals, especially dogs and cats, and have dedicated 17 years to caring for them. My experience includes working at various pet hotels, where I provided loving, attentive care. Animals bring me joy, and I’m passionate about ensuring they feel safe, happy, and well-cared for every day. My pup that I had for 16 years passed in March 2024 and I can’t find the heart to get another pet of my own, but I would love to help others take care of theirs. I work from home and I’m very flexible. I also have reliable transportation, it is also a large vehicle so I am able to transport large dogs/pet equipment I have a very large property that is fully enclosed and double gated… The front gate facing the street is an iron 6 foot gate.

About: I have been caring for dogs my entire life — it’s not just something I do, it’s who I am. I currently have two boys of my own: Basil, a French Bulldog, and Cashew, a Morkie. I also regularly care for a German Shepherd, a Chihuahua, and several other breeds, so I’m very comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. From puppies to seniors, I understand that every dog has its own personality and needs. Your pup will be loved, watched closely, and treated like one of my own. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule that fits pet care naturally into my day. I’m available for dog walks in the evenings and for boarding or sitting on weekends. I also have availability during school breaks and holidays, so I’m a reliable option when you need coverage during those busy times. The safety of every pet in my care is my top priority. At my home, I have a dedicated fenced-off area just for dogs, so they have a secure space to move around freely. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I do a full walkthrough to make sure all doors, gates, and exits are secured before letting any pup roam. I stay hyper-aware and attentive at all times — your pet won’t just be watched, they’ll be genuinely looked after.

About: Animals have always been family in my home. I had a Terrier who I cared for throughout every stage of life into their elderly years, which gave me experience with senior dog care, patience, and understanding changing needs as dogs age. I’ve also spent a lot of time around other family dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and anxiety needs. I understand that every dog has their own temperament and comfort level, and I make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for like part of the family. Whether a dog is playful and energetic or shy and anxious, I’m patient, attentive, and focused on creating a calm environment where they can feel comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home, so I am almost always home with the dogs. I absolutely love dogs and enjoy giving them attention and affection. My home is very family-oriented, and pets are treated like part of the family. I will be the primary caregiver at all times but there will be tons of love from my family as well. I have a fully enclosed fenced backyard where dogs can safely play, run around, and get fresh air. I also enjoy taking dogs on walks around Uptown or to local parks for exercise, stimulation, and fun. Since I spend most of my time at home, I am able to provide consistent care, potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, and a calm, loving environment where dogs can feel comfortable and cared for. I provide loving, attentive care for pets both in my home and in my clients’ homes. Since I work from home with a flexible schedule, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. In my home, pets are treated like family and have a safe, comfortable environment with access to our fully enclosed fenced backyard for exercise and outdoor time. I make sure every dog feels comfortable, secure, and cared for based on their individual personality and needs. I’m available for dog walks, drop-in visits, dog sitting, and boarding. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, anxious, or a senior needing extra patience, I focus on creating a calm, caring experience and keeping pet parents updated for peace of mind.

About: I always used to say I wanted to be a Veterinarian since I can remember, but with life and all that comes with it, sadly I gave up that dream. However, just because being a Veterinarian didn't work out didn't mean I have given up on my care and love for animals. I have been lucky in being able to care for many cats and dogs in my life time. From tiny new born kittens to a senior dog in her last days, I have cared for many and consider it an honor to have a relationship with an animal. I am a full-time pet care provider. I do have a part time job that requires me to leave for 4 to 5 hours a couple times a week but other than that I am dedicated to caring for you animal during the time I am with them. I currently live with four cats in my home. They are family pets and though I love them they are more my parents cats. In the past I have been responsible for feeding and caring for both indoor and out door pets. I stay conscious of what my pets feeding and/or walking schedules were like. I also like to know if the pet is a playful one that would like my engagement or a cuddler that likes the snuggles and pets. In the case of new animals that I haven't met before I try to make my introduction as gentle and friendly as possible. I do prefer in the cases of dogs that I meet them first with their owner present so that the dog knows I can be trusted. As for cats I haven't noticed them really caring most of the time. However, I appreciate an introduction if it is possible.

Celia is low key and a Great communicator . She went above and beyond to maintain our 3 cat’s tidy care! We appreciated the moments our cats were captured in photos very much. She adapted without hesitation to timing changing due to unplanned guests at our home while we were away. Our frig also failed during her care! She made sure the feeding of wet food was safe and fresh. We definitely would book her care again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Whittier. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
