Bethany did a great job taking care of our dog, Mia. She arrived everyday, twice a day on time. She posted when Mia’s walks started and ended. She sent multiple pictures and videos so we knew Mia was OK. I will definitely recommend Bethany and we will be rebooking with her when we need a dog walker.

Brenna has been so wonderful with walking our 115lb rottie while we were out of town! She’s an excellent communicator and sent us plenty of photos from each walk, and gracefully handled his reactivity on neighborhood walks. We felt reassured and relieved knowing our pup was in good hands and getting exercise and sniff walks while we were out of town, we would highly recommend Brenna to anyone!

About: Hi! I'm Arika, and animals have pretty much been my entire personality for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I cared for just about every kind of animal imaginable—dogs, cats, horses, chickens, rabbits, hamsters, and even reptiles. If there was an animal that needed love (or someone to clean up after it), I was usually first in line. Needless to say, my parents never had to wonder what I'd be doing with my free time! For the past 5 years, I've worked in animal rescue, primarily with cats. As an Office Manager and Foster Coordinator for a nonprofit rescue, I've cared for hundreds of cats of all ages, personalities, and medical needs—from tiny bottle babies to spicy feral kittens, seniors, and cats recovering from illness or surgery. Let's just say not every cat has appreciated my help at first... but I've learned that patience (and a few treats) goes a long way! While my rescue work has focused on cats, my love for dogs has always been just as strong. I volunteer with a local dog rescue where I walk and exercise energetic dogs, helping them burn off some zoomies while preparing them for adoption. I've also assisted a friend with a dog training program in Bakersfield, where I gained experience with basic obedience, leash manners, and confidence building. When my in-laws head out of town, I become the designated ranch manager for their five dogs and six horses. It's a full house, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Between the dogs demanding belly rubs and the horses reminding me breakfast should have been five minutes ago, there's never a dull moment. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities—from puppies who think every walk is a treasure hunt to seniors who just want to take their time and sniff every flower along the way. I'm also experienced administering oral medications, eye medications, topical treatments, and subcutaneous fluids when needed. I'm currently exploring becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) because I genuinely love learning about animal health and want to continue building on the experience I've gained over the years. At home, I have two cats and a rescue dog, so I know how nerve-racking it can be to leave your pets with someone new. My goal is to make that as stress-free as possible—for both you and your pets! I'll treat them like family, keep their routine consistent, and send plenty of updates and photos (because let's be honest... you're probably going to miss them more than they'll miss you 😉). Whether your dog wants to power walk, sniff every tree in the neighborhood, play fetch until your arm hurts, or simply enjoy some quiet company, I'm happy to match their pace. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family! After I drop my daughter off at daycare each morning, I get to spend the rest of my day doing something else I love—being around animals! I'm available Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM for dog walks. Whether your pup is full of energy or prefers to stop and sniff every flower (honestly, I support both!), I'm happy to tailor each walk to what makes them happiest. If your dog is friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs, I'd also be happy to bring my own rescue pup, River, along for the walk! She's friendly, well-socialized, and loves making new friends. Of course, this is completely optional and only if you're comfortable with it—I know some dogs prefer one-on-one adventures, and I'm more than happy to accommodate that too! As a pet owner myself, I know how nerve-racking it can be to trust someone else with your best friend. My goal is to make you feel completely at ease while your pup is in my care. My years in animal rescue have taught me how to read animal body language, recognize when a pet is feeling stressed, and adapt to all kinds of personalities. Whether your dog is outgoing, shy, energetic, or prefers to stop and sniff every flower, I'll tailor each walk to what makes them feel safe and happy. Before our first walk, I'd love to learn about your dog's routine, favorite treats, commands, and any little quirks that make them unique. Whether your pup thinks every squirrel is public enemy number one or insists on saying hello to everyone, I'm here for it! Safety is always my top priority. I'll use secure leash handling, stay aware of our surroundings, and make sure your dog gets the exercise, enrichment, and attention they deserve. After every walk, I'll send you updates and photos because I know I'd want the same if someone was caring for my own dog. Fair warning... if your pup is especially cute, they may end up becoming the star of my camera roll!

About: I’ve always had dogs growing up. Recently just lost my senior pug who had diabetes and several health issues. I have no problem administering and keeping track of medications/glucose and feeding schedules. I have a small fenced in yard for bathroom breaks, as well as a flexible lifestyle that allows me to walk dogs twice a day every day. I am a part time dance teacher so I only work in the evenings for 5 hours max. I love being active but am always home every night at a reasonable hour. I lost my dog in February so I am free to take care of dogs who aren’t so friendly with others or who need extra attention. I have a fenced in yard for bathroom breaks and am young and able to take long walks in my neighborhood. We have a gated den area for pups to hang out in during the day with windows and toys.

About: Being around animals brings me a lot of joy. I love discovering their individual personalities because, just like people, every pet is different. When I meet an animal, I pay attention to their energy and let them show me what they need. Some want to play immediately, some are cautious, and some would rather observe from across the room for a while. I’m happy to meet them wherever they are rather than forcing interaction. My Shiba and Malamute have taught me plenty about that. My Malamute is a big-time attention seeker, while my Shiba prefers his personal space (although he occasionally gives in to a cuddle and then mysteriously ends up snoring next to me). 😂 I keep boarding intentionally small so your pet gets the attention they deserve in a calm home environment. I’m comfortable with puppies, seniors, energetic dogs, shy pets, and animals who need medication or extra patience. Most importantly, I’ll follow the care and routines you want for your pet. You know them best, and I want their stay to feel as comfortable and familiar as possible. Pet care is my full-time focus, so I have flexibility for early mornings, midday visits, overnights, and last-minute requests when available. I’m responsive and happy to work around your pet’s normal routine, including specific feeding, exercise, or medication schedules. My home is calm, non-smoking, and fully fenced. I have two dogs of my own, and I’m experienced with introducing and managing animals thoughtfully so everyone can feel comfortable. I keep boarding intentionally small and pay close attention to each pet’s temperament and needs. Client dogs stay leashed until we’re safely inside, and I don’t take them to dog parks. For house sitting, I treat your home with the same respect I would want for my own. I’ll follow your routines, care for your space, and make sure your pets get the same attention and consistency they’re used to.

Sarah was a gem. My dog is a rescue, very young and doesn’t warm up to people initially but took to her very quickly. A short chat made me feel she cares for animals or at least dogs just as I would and I’m sure my little Frida will enjoy future visits, walks and time with Sarah.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
