“Trying to find a great babysitter has been one of the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do especially since I own a large breed puppy! Those feelings changed after I met Vanessa and her family. They are the most loving family I’ve ever met! I felt very assured that my german shepherd puppy was in good hands. I cannot thank Vanessa enough for the amazing service she has provided!”

“It’s always a good sign when Charlie pulls on his lead to get into the sitter’s house. He seems to have enjoyed himself which makes us feel good leaving him with Kristie.”

“Omg Alba was wonderful for our special needs dog Penny. She was accommodating to all of her needs and she was willing to juggle her own schedule to be helpful. Thanks so much Alba. Penny seemed immediately comfortable. Sandy”

“I will start off by stating Pamela truly a magnetic bubbly human being, her energy alone made me feel safe leaving Keanu in her care. Keanu he felt right at home immediately, and there was an instantaneous connection. Her home is immaculate, a great dog setting which in turn is 100% inviting for all pups. She is a gem and so is her animal loving hubby Jose. The countless videos, pictures are perfect and just makes me feel comfortable throughout his stay with Pamela. She shares her nutritious food and treats and he actually ate well (mini poodle picky eater). You will not be disappointed she is a true animal lover....her vibrant energy begins at her door and just elevates the owner and doggie like magic. Keanu is now a repeat daycare client and would have zero concerns when I need boarding. Thank you PAMELA”

“I am new to the area and needed someone to watch my puppy as I was moving. Gloria was amazing. She kept me updated and my puppy came back so happy and also so excited to see Gloria. Definitely will be back! Thank you Gloria and Jose!”

About: My family and I all love animals, so we applied to be pet's sitters at home care. We have a independent house with a yard, and there will always be someone at home 24 hours a day. The pets can move freely at home without too many restrictions. We have regularly clean to the house to ensure the clean and hygiene environment for all pets. I have over a year of experience in taking care of cats and over six years of experience in taking care of dogs. The longest time I took care of a cat was for two months. At the beginning, the cat would hide under the sofa for a week, but lately he became completely unrestrained and would lie on the bed together, play hide-and-seek with me, and explore every corner of the house. When the weather was good, the dogs could play freely in the yard. Welcome all cats and dogsto my home, we are the best friends of your pets! We can keep daily routine for all pet's. I am working part-time on weekends and I will come back at 4PM , but my family members are off on weekends. And my family members and I take care of all pets together. We have a independent house with a yard, and there will always be someone at home 24 hours a day. The pets can move freely at home without too many restrictions. We have regularly cleaning to the house to ensure the clean and hygiene environment for all pets. When the weather was good, the dogs could play freely in the yard.

About: Hi there! My name is Kate, I’m 24 years old and I am based in Long Island NY. I’ve been a life long animal lover, I grew up incredibly curious and caring towards animals. I grew up raising pets like fishes, birds, hedgehogs, ferrets, rabbits and my beloved dog who recently passed after being with us for 16 years. It’s been difficult living without her but I still want to keep myself company with other animals. I will care for your pet like as if they were my own. Since I am going back to school in the fall, I would only be available to take care of your pet on Thursdays , Fridays , Saturdays and Sundays. I have a fenced yard so they will be protected. I also provide a food bowl and water along with treats! Behind my house is an elementary school with a huge field, I would bring them there to walk around and play!
“I fear words pale in describing how fantastic Kayla and her family are! Todd simply did not want to leave, and she is wonderfully communicative, thoughtful, and patient. In short, she and her family are magnificent!”

“Michelle and her husband are friendly and accommodating. We felt at ease having our dog stay there for the day and will be using their daycare services going forward. Michelle kept us up to date through the day sending over photos during our dogs stay.”

They’re honestly like family to me and I always treat my family with care, respect and love which is what a dog needs. About: *no longer accepting mid week recurring bookings due to 9-5 job* Hi there! My name is Bre. I have been taking care of pets on and off since I was about 16 and doing rover for a couple of years now. In my teen years I regularly took care of 2 dogs and 3 cats for a family during their vacations. I currently have a 15 year old dog named Kylie. She is definitely a handful but she is my whole world. I am a huge animal person and always have been so I’m more than happy to help families who need it. I travel for work every 2-3 months or so so my schedule is hit or miss. I’m happy to start with meet and greets if that would make you feel more comfortable. I travel roughly every 2-3 months for about a week at a time for work. When I am not traveling I am sometimes able to work from home, though my schedule is not consistent and my main career takes priority. When I can swing it, I’m happy to help! My dog has a basic training degree and I have experience with many kinds of dogs.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - East Meadow
I had never left Oliver overnight before, so I was very nervous, especially with it being my daughter’s wedding weekend. From the moment we met, Pam immediately put my mind at ease. It didn’t take long for Oliver to feel comfortable, and soon he was happily playing with the other dogs. Knowing he was so well cared for allowed me to relax and fully enjoy the weekend. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy pet sitter!

Krissy and her husband were wonderful! We felt completely comfortable leaving our dogs in their care. We were visiting the area for a week and needed someone to board our dogs while we were here. We’re so happy we found them and would highly recommend them! 🐾😊

It usually takes our chihuahua, Louie, a while to warm up to new people. However, he warmed up to Patricia right away! He was so comfortable in her home that he sat on her lap during the first doggie day care session. Patricia is very attentive, extremely knowledgeable, and treated Louie like her own pet. We are very fortunate to have found Patricia!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your East Meadow commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
