About: I have experience caring for pets through both professional work and personal ownership. I currently provide dog walking and pet care through Wag!, where I’ve worked with dogs of different ages, sizes, and energy levels, including senior dogs and more active breeds. I’ve also had the opportunity to build trust with repeat clients by providing dependable, compassionate care. As a proud cat mom to two cats, I understand the importance of patience, routine, and recognizing each pet’s unique personality. In addition, I’ve volunteered with a cat rescue, where I cared for cats with a wide range of temperaments, cleaned enclosures, socialized cats, and administered oral and topical medications when needed. I also spent a year working at a family-owned pet store that specialized in dogs, cats, and exotic animals, giving me hands-on experience with daily animal care and pet wellness. My goal is to provide every pet with a safe, loving, and stress-free experience while giving pet parents peace of mind. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine because I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate quality time to the pets I care for. Since I also drive, I’m able to reliably travel to visits, walks, and drop-ins. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely look forward to each week. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I believe pets feel happiest in their own home, so I take the time to learn their schedule, feeding routine, exercise needs, and any special instructions before each visit. I always ensure doors, gates, and harnesses are secure, keep a close eye on your pet during walks and playtime, and treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own. I’ll also provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Alec was highly recommended to me and I am so happy to have found him! He clearly loves animals, my dog Remy was thrilled. And he was really flexible with regards to my last minute request. Looking forward to using him again in the future!”

“Having Karen as our dog walker is such a relief. I never have to worry whether or not she's going to get to my house to walk Kailani. Karen is ultra professional super reliable. I recommend her highly.”

I am a night owl while my partner is an earlier rise pets have someone awake at almost all hours. I have a fenced yard although I never leave my pets outside unattended, some sections of fence are less secure for smaller dogs or professional escape artists but can be temporarily altered when needed. I also provide walks and indoor playtime.
About: I am now a stay at home grandma , I love dogs and have never NOT had a dog in my life. I currently have a cavapoo, she was a gift from my family while I was undergoing chemo treatment and she is my best friend.II am very active and love taking long walks, my husband and I walk anywhere from 4-7 miles daily. We have a fenced in backyard and a fenced in kennel for the dogs. We would give your pet a loving home and give you peace of mind while you are away. We have a 3 year old grand-daughter who loves to play with her pet friends. We will provide a loving and safe environment for your pet and treat them like they are our own. I am retired and I am home to take care of your fur babies. I have activities scheduled throughout the day for them and it is a fun environment for us all. I have a fully fenced in yard so that your pet will always be safe on the property. The pups have their own bedroom in the house and they are allowed to hang out on the sofas if they like.
“Jenny is amazing! She’s attentive and super understanding. She has great experience with all types of dogs and handles my 7 month old pit wonderfully. She is persistent with the training methods that I am working on with my dog while on his walks and inside my home. She follows all instructions and gives updates on how my pup is behaving with texts, pictures, and videos! Thank You Jenny!!”

“Highly recommend Valery. She came through in a pinch when I was desperate for a dog walker, and had such a great energy. Pino was totally ZOINKED out for the rest of the day after a fun and energetic walk, which was awesome. He is looking forward to more walks with Valery, no doubt.”

About: I am based in Oyster Bay and am a retired teacher with six years of experience running my dog care business. I have had animals my entire life, ranging from a 3-pound teacup Chihuahua to a Great Dane, as well as cats, horses, and goats. This past summer, I rescued my sweet girl, Aruba...yes, we found her in Aruba :) She is wonderful with all of the dogs who stay with us. I am comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and carefully maintain each pet’s established routine, including precise feeding schedules, medication administration, and appropriate daily exercise. When your dog stays with me, they immediately become part of our family. They are welcome throughout the home and may even sleep with us. During warmer months, I take the dogs to the beach for long, beautiful walks. I am available seven days a week and am always home. My two adult daughters, ages 24 and 22, also assist, ensuring your dog is never left alone. Services offered include daily walks, drop-in visits, feeding, and overnight care in your home when available. After all, doesn’t your dog deserve a vacation too? I am home majority of time except for the occasional errands etc. If I am not home I have 2 older daughters who help me keep the dogs company. My home is 100% smoke free! I have a fully fenced yard for the dogs to stay in so they can get some fresh air & play with their friends.

I’m currently free everyday of the week at any time so I can work with the schedule you choose to provide me with it’s no issue I don’t have a fenced yard but the little babies will go for a walk three or 4 times through out the day so that’s a plus.
About: I have had a love for animals all my life. I have 3 kitties of my own, and pet sit for other cats and dogs occasionally. I also used to babysit for a family that has a king corso, that I absolutely adored! His name is bubba and weighs about 150. I am very comfortable with larger dogs so that is no issue. I would treat your beloved pet as if it were my own, because all animals should be treated with love, no matter who is giving it! I had also volunteered for last hope animal shelter for 2 years before I started college. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I got to interact with cats and dogs and watch them get adopted into their forever homes! I’m currently applying to school, so I have a very open and flexible schedule! I’d love to help your pet stay happy and comfy while you are away :) I am very respectful of people homes and a BIG rule follower, so I can promise everything will be done exactly the way you like them to be!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
