“Rachel has been amazing with Leo! He truly enjoys her company and walking with her! She’s got it down to a science with him, he’s a Frenchie and gives a hard time to walk but she’s been able to get him moving! Thank you Rachel for taking care of Leo when I have long days! You’re appreciated!”

About: I've taken care of dogs of all sizes ever since I was 12. My own or those family members. Everything from dog-walking, dog-sitting, and more. Currently working a part-time, so Mondays through Wednesdays before 11:30am, but full availability Thursday through Sunday! Can be pretty flexible, especially if you let me know in advance. Will usually first greet/play with them for a bit, followed by taking them for a walk and then either play with them more or just keep them company should they not be up for it. Will also feed them if necessary, of course.

About: My family and I all love animals, so we applied to be pet's sitters at home care. We have a independent house with a yard, and there will always be someone at home 24 hours a day. The pets can move freely at home without too many restrictions. We have regularly clean to the house to ensure the clean and hygiene environment for all pets. I have over a year of experience in taking care of cats and over six years of experience in taking care of dogs. The longest time I took care of a cat was for two months. At the beginning, the cat would hide under the sofa for a week, but lately he became completely unrestrained and would lie on the bed together, play hide-and-seek with me, and explore every corner of the house. When the weather was good, the dogs could play freely in the yard. Welcome all cats and dogsto my home, we are the best friends of your pets! We can keep daily routine for all pet's. “Ella is such an amazing caregiver! She was so unbelievably responsible and thoughtful. She took notes on our pitbul and asked what his likes and dislikes were. She would leave us little check-in notes when she would visit and walk our pup. She will be my go to pup sitter forever! We felt so comfortable and most importantly our pup felt safe and happy with her.”

About: I have been taking care of animals my entire life. I have always had cats and grew up with a dog, and I have adopted formerly feral cats as well as orphaned kittens and puppies, and I have fostered special needs animals. I lived on a small farm starting from the age of 5, so I have experience with various types of animals and love them all. I have taken care of puppies and kittens as well as older pets. I've always been told that I'm great with animals and wanted to go into animal care from a young age. I started my own petsitting business in 2023 and have loved getting to know so many different animals. I recently moved to New York and am excited to get know even more pets here! I have plenty of time during the day to spend time with your animals and give them all the care they need. I have open availability most days. I always want my clients to have peace of mind while they're away and treat all pets like they're my own. I'm always careful to follow instructions on how to best care for the pets, and my priority is always to keep them safe and happy. I don't board animals in my home, since I have a formerly feral cat who is easily scared.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - New Cassel
Kajal is awesome — she’s super reliable, an excellent communicator, and always helps me out on short notice. She takes my dog for longer walks than I do, gives him treats when they get back, and sends a bunch of great pictures every time. You can tell she actually enjoys what she does, and that makes a big difference. Highly recommend!!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
