About: ave been passionately caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments for over 20 years. My experience ranges from training high-energy puppies to providing gentle, attentive care for senior dogs who need extra patience and medication. I treat every single guest like a member of my own family, ensuring they get plenty of structure, playtime, and affection. You can enjoy your time away with absolute peace of mind knowing your pup is safe and loved. Because my routine is flexible, pet care is my top priority. I am fully available for weekend boardings and dedicated playtime, and my weekday afternoons are completely open after 2:00 PM. This schedule allows me to provide consistent potty breaks, regular exercise, and plenty of companionship so your pet never feels lonely or anxious while you are away. When caring for your dog in your home, safety and respect for your space are my top priorities. I strictly follow your specific instructions, maintaining your pup's established feeding, walking, and crate routines to keep their anxiety low. I am incredibly mindful of home security—making sure doors and gates are always locked—and I will keep you updated with plenty of photos so you know both your dog and your home are in excellent hands.

About: CPDT-KA since 2021, Positive Reinforcement dog trainer since 2019. I’ve had rescue dogs since I was 13. Between experiences with my own rescue dogs, working and volunteering in animal shelters, being lead supervisor at a doggie daycare/boarding facility, pet photography, and several years in the pet retail industry, I’ve worked with dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and experiences. I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of flexibility to help out with your four-legged friend! While my schedule varies from week to week, I always have the time to help you and your dog. I can easily crate dogs if need be, and can give medication to even the pickiest of eaters. I have no issues with getting dogs leashed, including getting them into harnesses or head-halters.
“I can’t recommend Esperanza enough! She consistently goes above and beyond for my dog, Leo, taking excellent care of him with every walk. Whether it’s a regular walk or a last-minute request, Esperanza is always reliable and accommodating. It’s clear that she genuinely loves what she does. She even washes his food bowl before leaving! I’m so grateful to have found someone like her. Thank you for everything you do for Leo!”

“Annamaria saved us with a last minute walk for our girl when we weren't able to take her ourselves. She was so sweet with our dog and took her on a great walk. We are so grateful we found Annamaria and will 100% be working with her again! :)”

I have always had cats and grew up with a dog, and I have adopted formerly feral cats as well as orphaned kittens and puppies, and I have fostered special needs animals. I've always been told that I'm great with animals and wanted to go into animal care from a young age. I started my own petsitting business in 2023 and have loved getting to know so many different animals. I recently moved to New York and am excited to get know even more pets here! I have plenty of time during the day to spend time with your animals and give them all the care they need. I have open availability most days. I'm always careful to follow instructions on how to best care for the pets, and my priority is always to keep them safe and happy. I don't board animals in my home, since I have a formerly feral cat who is easily scared.

About: I’ve been a dog owner for over 20 years. I’ve had a Britney spaniel and a cavalier King Charles spaniel. The Britney spaniel lived till she was 18 years old so I am very familiar with senior dog care and the special tasks that they require. I am currently an owner of two dogs a chocolate lab and a cava poo. The chocolate lab is seven years old and the cava poo just turned one years old. I am familiar and comfortable walking dogs of any size whether they are small and 10 pounds or 80 pounds plus. I am a teacher and I work from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. I am primarily available to walk dogs after work so that would be between 4:30 PM and 10 PM. I am unavailable to walk dogs currently on Monday’s and Wednesdays because I am in grad school I have class after work. I am available on the weekends all day, I have no work commitments. For my own two dogs, they get walked three times a day and fed twice a day. They have yearly vet visits, depending on what vaccines or check ups that are needed. They go to the groomer based on need, the Cava Poo goes every six weeks and the chocolate lab goes every couple months. I’ve taken care of dogs in my neighborhood and have followed their walking and care instructions to the greatest detail possible.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
