“I will definitely rebook with Bonnie if I go out of town. My very anxious cat came out to cuddle with her, and she does that with no one but me. Bonnie also provided great reports each day of the fantastic, thorough job she did. As a result, I was able to travel and enjoy my trip stress free. Because you know when someone asks me to go out of town, I cringe and think "no! My cats!" Now I don't need to worry. Highest recommendations.”

“Cara was able to come by to let out my two little boys on shorter notice. The dogs loved playing with her and her kids. I much appreciated the ease of scheduling. Your animals will love her coming by, you won’t regret it!”

“Katie is just awesome! I needed her to come by twice in one day to play with the dogs, let them out and feed them and she was so great. The detailed notes she sent were so appreciated and the pictures she sent of my boys just showed how much they love her.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Taylor was amazing!! We will absolutely be working with her again. She watched our dog, Louie, during our wedding day and eased any stress or worry we may have had about leaving Louie that day. We got detailed updates and pictures throughout her visits. Cannot recommend her enough!!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better Rover sitter! Angie came over the evening before our trip for a meet-and-greet, which immediately put us at ease. She took the time to get to know Molly and even played with her so Molly would be comfortable before we left. While we were away, Angie was dependable, caring, and treated Molly like she was her own. Every visit wasn't just a quick potty break—she spent time playing with Molly and making sure she had attention and companionship while we were gone. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Molly was in such great hands while we were in New York. If you're looking for someone who is reliable, kind, and genuinely loves animals, we highly recommend Angie. We will absolutely be booking her again. Thank you for taking such great care of Molly!”

“Brett was wonderful and very punctual. I have an extremely large dog and he handled him like a pro. They are best buddies now! Thank you, Brett for taking such good care of my big baby!”

“Keirra is simply astounding! She is incredibly attentive to your pets needs as well as your own, and Is very clear on her Rover cards about how they are doing. She spends quality time with your pets and makes sure not just food and water, but things like pet cameras are operating so you can see them! She gets back to messages promptly and was flexible when my transportation was canceled and needing rescheduling. I highly recommend this amazing sitter!”

About: I grew up around dogs and spent four years volunteering at an animal shelter in college, where I worked with dogs of every size, energy level, and temperament—including shy, anxious, and reactive pups who needed extra patience. Today I'm a dog mom to Coco, so I know how much trust it takes to leave your pup with someone. I keep routines consistent, follow your feeding and medication instructions exactly, and send photo updates so you never have to wonder how they're doing. I work a full-time consulting job with a flexible, project-based schedule, so I open bookings by date rather than every week. When I'm available, your dog gets my full attention—no hours alone in a crate. My Rover calendar is always kept current, so if a date shows open, I'm truly available. I'm happy to do a meet & greet before any first stay. My home in Webster Groves is a quiet house with a fenced backyard, and the landscaping was planned with dog-safe plants. I host one family's dogs at a time, so your pup is never in a crowd. My dog Coco is a 30 lb mixed breed who is gentle and easygoing with other dogs—she'll play for a bit, then happily nap and give your pup space. She's a little shy with new people, so meet & greets are relaxed and low-pressure. I require a meet & greet before every new stay, walk on leash only, double-check gates and doors, and keep your vet's info and an emergency plan on hand.
“Emily was an absolute gem.💎 she was very responsive and kept me in the loop. It was very reassuring to have my pet stay home in his quiet environment rather than the loud kennel”

About: I have over five years of experience caring for and sitting dogs, along with hands-on experience raising my own puppy. I’m comfortable working with dogs of all ages and sizes, including high-energy pups who need plenty of playtime and structure. I’m familiar with crate routines, potty training, and reinforcing good behavior, and I always follow each dog’s unique schedule and needs. I’m also able to manage specific feeding routines, medications, and any special care instructions to ensure every dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for. I work full-time on weekdays, but I’m fully available for pet care after 5 PM. This allows me to provide evening walks, drop-ins, or overnight care during the week. I’m also completely free on weekends, giving me plenty of time to focus on your dog with lots of attention, playtime, and consistent care. Whether you need weeknight help or full-day weekend support, I’m happy to accommodate your schedule. Your pup’s safety comes first! I live in a dog-friendly apartment with a fully fenced dog park for safe play and a quiet, friendly neighborhood perfect for long walks. I make sure every dog feels happy, secure, and loved while in my care.
“Tara was exactly what we needed in every way! She filled in when we were cancelled on with short notice before a very important trip, she communicated and showed up promptly to the messages, meet and greet, and every visit. It was so lovely to see my usually shy to strangers rescue boy fall in love with her so quickly. Tara sent detailed and heartfelt messages along with her photos of what our dogs were up to and how they were doing each time and we genuinely looked forward to them. It had us at ease while away and that was such a blessing. I highly recommend her and would love to book her again 😊”

“Danny & Jennifer did a great job watching our cats, especially the one with medical issues. Their report and pictures after were so thorough and definitely made us feel better about being away!”

About: I started raising dogs at the age of 15, use to be a dog groomer so I know about nervous behavior, I have a dog of my own. I have a pretty open schedule on the weekends, after work I just chill with my dog and play with her, and spend some time with her outside. I tend to my clients pets as if they’re my own, under pet parent instructions of course ( as in if your pet needs medicine or special food)
About: My name is Taylor and I am new to the Saint Charles area! I live with my 2 year old cat Sushi who is the cuddliest cat to ever cuddle. I have had dogs and cats my entire life, so I know that your furry friend is an important member of the family. I have over 10 years of experience feeding, watering, and providing exercise and walks to dogs, as well as caring for and providing enrichment to cats. My keen eye for detail ensures that I follow any and all instructions when it comes to your pet’s care and when visiting your home. I know pet parents love getting updates on their fur babies when they’re away (same), so I make sure to send plenty of pictures and detailed updates whenever providing a service. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! 😊 I work in a hybrid environment, so I’m available throughout the day on Monday and Friday, and in the evenings on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I am available for services on weekends as well, and will update my calendar if I am ever unavailable. I am very responsible and will follow any specific instructions you have thoroughly. Protecting your pet and your home are my number one priority when pet sitting.

About: My pet care experience has taught me that every animal is unique and special in their own ways. What sets me apart is my patience, reliability, communication, and commitment to providing loving, individualized care for every pet! I am currently back home from school for the summer so I have so much time on my hands that I can dedicate to your sweet pets! When caring for pets in their own home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I make sure they have fresh food and water, a clean environment, plenty of attention, and playtime based on their needs and personality. For cats, I will clean litter boxes daily, monitor their behavior and well being, and spend quality time with them so they feel cared for while their owner is away. I can also provide updates and photos to keep owners informed and give them peace of mind.

We highly recommend Andrea! She watched our two cats while we were away and went above and beyond. We loved getting her detailed daily updates and the pictures she sent were so thoughtful and cute. You can tell she genuinely cares about her furry clients. 10/10 recommend Andrea to anyone looking for top-tier pet care!

Absolutely great! Super friendly, understanding, flexible and the cutest fur baby! So grateful to have had her and making this vacation less stressful for us as we've never had a dog sitter before. The pictures were the best addition as well, thanks a million! Will ask for you again and recommend you highly by name.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
