“Jada is very dependable and takes very good care of your pets. She sends frequent updates on how everything is going while you’re gone. She gave us peace of mind while on our trip. She also took very good care of our house. 10/10 recommend her for pet and house sitting services. We will definitely use her again.”

“Corey has done a great job house and dog sitting for me several times now. Always does an outstanding job and leaves the house in better shape than when he arrives. Updates me as needed. If I don't hear from him it is a good indication everything is going fine. Will be happy to have him house and dog sit again in the future.”

“Dorian was amazing! He went above and beyond in caring for my very anxious dog. He was communicative and I think left my house cleaner even than when he arrived! Would love to have him sit my pup again ❤️”

“Mikayla took great care of Ollie! She sent us lots of pictures of their afternoon which we appreciated, and was willing to hang out with our pup. He seems so much more comfortable with her than we ever could have hoped for only the second time she has watched him! For a reactive dog like Ollie, it’s so great knowing we have someone we can leave him with!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better house sitter! We were traveling internationally, and it meant so much to receive at least one update every day (often several), along with photos/videos of our dog, Elliot. She took him on daily walks, played ball with him in the yard, and gave him lots of love and attention. We came home to a happy, well-exercised dog, a spotless house, and even a small jar of fresh flowers she had picked from our yard waiting on the counter. It was such a thoughtful touch and a lovely way to come home after a long trip. We would happily have her stay with Elliot again and highly recommend her.”

About: I really care about animals and making sure their needs are being met. Also, enjoy spending time and meeting new animals and take the time to learn about them. I am a full time college looking to gain extra money on the side while also spending time with other new animals around the town. I have three dogs at home and a cat and enjoy spending time with them and playing with them. I feed my own animals regularly and make sure they are in a safe environment.
“Darlene took great care of our Bella n Scout. Older dogs with separation, gunshot, firework and thunderstorm issues, they were in very competent and loving hands. We will be rebooking in the future.”

Committed to creating safe, happy environments tailored to every dog’s unique needs, always. My schedule is pretty open over winters for the most part. I do occasionally have weeks I am unable to keep up with rover. Thanks. I see pets as a part of the family, which means they'll be treated as such. I'll just have to remind myself they're not my children

I'm able to visit before classes, in between classes, and after. Any excuse to get out of my dorm is a good one 😅 I am more than willing to prepare food for pets, administer medications, or just spend some time with the pets if desired. Overall, I want to maintain a respectful and trusting relationship with clients.
“Erica cared for our little guy Milo who requires someone who has a lot of patience and understanding and at this particular time would be needing additional attention to post manage a recent recovery from where Milo was treated for severe back pain from compressed discs-which gave us reservation about leaving him for 2weeks… but upon meeting Erica and shortly after leaving AK -it was no time at all that we were 100% rest assured that Milo was in good and caring hands. Erica stayed in our home to care for Milo and was so very helpful and considerate. ( not to mention this was during the holidays) Erica was excellent in caring for Milo and was so very thoughtful in sending us photos and updates. She is responsible, caring, a great communicator and would highly recommend her. We would most definitely seek her care and assistance/ availability for future care. Can’t thank you enough Erica!!”

“We appreciated the time Zack spent with our dogs and how he accommodated their needs. It was nice to get picture updates too! We came home to a clean house and happy dogs, we couldn't ask for more!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and currently have two corgis of my own, Chimi and Churro, so caring for pups is just part of my everyday life. They’re my little adventure buddies, and we love being outside together, going on walks, exploring trails, and soaking up fresh air. Because I’m used to handling my own energetic dogs daily, I’m comfortable with all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Whether your dog needs a long walk to burn energy, playtime, or slower, gentle care, I’m happy to match their pace and routine. My goal is lots of love, exercise, and a very happy dog. Im currently working at a dental office Monday-Thursday 9am-5:30pm. So I’m available most weekdays if you need a quick walk or drop-ins, if not I'm available Friday-Sunday with whatever pet needs you may have! In your home, I’m respectful, clean, and treat your space like my own. I make sure pets feel calm and comfortable by keeping their environment familiar and stress-free. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. On walks, dogs are always leashed and closely supervised. I carefully follow feeding schedules, routines, and any special instructions to keep things consistent and stress-free.
“Nancy did a great job taking care of my two cats with very different needs. A 15 year old and a 1 year old. She followed care instructions well, kept me up to date and sent pictures. She house sat and watched over them for two weeks while I was on vacation out of the country. Thanks Nancy!?”

“Absolutely fabulous pet sitter! Jillian house sat for my two pets (a large dog and a cat). She was attentive to details, followed the health needs of both my pets (providing daily medications), and gave good exercise and play time. She was very communicative and kept me updated on how things were going, which I really value as it can be a bit nerve racking leaving your pets with someone new to them. I came home to some cute stories of things they had done, a clean house, and two chill and well loved pets…. Exactly what I wanted! 100% would recommend!”
“Bradley did a fantastic job house and petting sitting my 2 dogs and 5 chickens. He was a good communicator and followed instructions perfectly. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a pet sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Eagle River
Jayda was great with my dog Oliver. She was kind and listened to me talk about Oliver and his recent separation anxiety, and needs. She asked questions regarding his care and communicated regularly with texts and photos while watching him. I highly recommend her and will definitely rebook in the future.

Sage was so good with Gigi! She provided me with updates along the weekend and made sure to send me photos! I could tell my dog was taken really good care of. Sage took her for long walks everyday even in the rain. I cannot recommend her enough and will definitely be using her services again.

Monica was fantastic. Responded promptly and didn’t seem fazed at the oddities my dogs required. Happily took them out rain or shine and made sure I felt great leaving her for the weekend. Wish I could gate keep her but I would happily recommend to a friend.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Eagle River walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Eagle River maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eagle River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
