“Phenomenal communication! We felt at ease knowing our two dogs were being cared for by Kelsey. She kept us updated and stayed at the home with our dogs. She also brought our trash bin in (totally not expected, but such a kind thing to do). Top notch care!”

“Paula is the most amazing sitter I could ever ask for! She sends updates, photos and even takes the cutest polaroid's with her camera for us! She is beyond attentive, thoughtful and actually interacts with my puppy Kona and gives him all the attention he needs since he has a lot of energy. 10/10 would recommend her to everyone!”

“Michelle is great. I would definitely recommend her to any friends and family who want their pets well taken care of. She took care of my puppy for a week and was very communicative, focused on training and getting outside.”

“Pazao was and is a dream! She took the BEST care of our almost 4 year old English Bull Terrier and we couldn’t have asked for more! She also house sat during her time with Biggie Duane and we are so thankful for the peace her care brought to us. If we could give a 10 star review we would! Thank you Pazao for everything!”

“Halston was fantastic! He followed every single instruction I left for my dog and made sure he stayed on his routine, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. His communication was excellent. He sent regular updates with photos and videos, so I always knew how my pup was doing. Most importantly, it was clear how much he truly cared for my dog. When I came home, he was happy, healthy, and clearly well-loved. I will absolutely be booking again. Thank you so much!”

“Our babies were very well taken care of while we were away, and we returned to a home that was in better condition than what we left! We received daily updates with multiple photos and the boys were taken out for walks every day. Cannot recommend enough!! Will be a returning client, for sure.”

About: I’ve had at least three dogs in my house growing up whether they were old or puppies, so I know how to potty train and take care of any age dog. I currently don’t have a job so your pups would have all my attention! I’m available to house sit when needed, I’m free all day. I make sure your pups always have what they need. Whether that’s needing to go outside, go on a walk, or even just getting some pets in.
About: I’ve pet-sat for multiple families, feeding, walking, playing, grooming. I've had my own dog and cat in the past and currently have 2 bunnies. I’m very comfortable around and absolutely love all pets! I am very active and love a good, long walk with a dog or playing at the park! I have a very open schedule and available every day for some extent of pet care. I am pretty available any and all times of the day as well. It is a regular part of my routine for my own pets. I will follow any rules/typical routines you have for your pets, anything you need to be done. Can stop by for multiple check ins during the day
“Wren took excellent care of my dogs and cats while we were gone for the week. They were well loved, and our house was taken good care of too. I'd definitely recommend her.”

“Alicia is absolutely amazing!! We just got back from a trip and I was nervous to leave our dogs for a long time, but she took such good care of them and made sure everything at our house ran smoothly while we were away. We are so thankful to have found her and all the love and care she gave to our boys. We felt such peace of mind and were able to really enjoy our vacation knowing that the dogs were in good hands. I will definitely be reaching out again for future trips! Thank you so much Alicia, you are greatly appreciated!!”

About: Always check to see if the dog has food and water, especially during hot weather. I always play with the dog no matter if I'm tired. I live near a dog park so I visit there with my sister's dog when I watch him. I have had dogs of my own as well. I can work with any size of dog or breed of dog. Willing to work around your schedule as well. Thank you.
“Rachel is amazing. She went above and beyond to help me in a bind and she was able to adjust seamlessly to what was needed to keep my cats safe and happy. Rachel really has a great feel with animals. Her communication was impeccable and I will definitely be rebooking her for my future catsitting needs.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who grew up on a small farm, so caring for animals has been part of my life from an early age. We raised pigs, I grew up with two dogs, and I also spent plenty of time around cattle, sheep, and pastured horses. I know how important it is to have someone you can genuinely trust with your pets. I’m patient, dependable, and happy to give your furry family members plenty of attention, affection, walks, and playtime. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and kindness I’d want someone to give my own. I currently work full-time from 5am to 1pm. I chair an AA meeting on Monday evenings and attend others when I'm available to do so. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my first priority. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, respect their normal routines, and pay attention to the little things that help them feel secure while you’re away. I also understand that trusting someone with your pet often means trusting them in your home, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. You can expect me to be dependable, respectful, and communicative, with updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands.

“Yvette was a wonderful pet sitter! She stayed with our young Golden Retriever named Rosie for two nights at our place in University Place. Yvette took the time to have a video call and come over to meet Rosie before our weekend away. Right away, it was apparent that Yvette loved dogs and Rosie adored her. Yvette was consistently responsive, provided photos and updates, and easy to trust as house/petsitter. We'll book her again, for sure!”

“SHE IS THE BEST. Our dogs were truly so well taken care of. Khaythlen would take our dogs on daily adventures across Tacoma parks. Khaythlen is extremely professional; her communication was fantastic, and her passion for her work is very clear. Would highly recommend her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - DuPont
Zoey response was very prompt on my short notice request. Within hours she made arrangements for a meet and greet. She was very attentive with our discussion of the boys feeding plan and a walk around the neighborhood. Wonderful to see photos of the boys. We have plans for her to take care of the boys again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred DuPont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in DuPont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in DuPont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in DuPont. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
