“Maggie went above and beyond! This was our first time using Rover, and I’ll admit I was hesitant. We have a diabetic, blind dog and another who gets incredibly down whenever we go away. But Maggie was amazing from start to finish. She sent us photos and updates that showed both dogs were not only doing well, but genuinely enjoying themselves. She even got Fiona, our shy girl, out of her room for walks and playtime outside! On top of all that, the house was tidied up when we got back, which was such a thoughtful surprise. We’ll absolutely be using Maggie again in the future!”

“Madeline stayed with my babies over night which I much appreciated it. She sent pictures daily of them. The 1st day with them she didn;t leave which made them feel secure. Felt like they were loved and taken care of since have 2 puppy mill moms and 3 cats which think Zoey maybe slept with her since the room she slept in Zoey has now claimed for her room.”

“Charlotte is AMAZING. I had zero fears leaving my dogs in her care. She treated them like her own, set me pictures daily and treated my home with respect as well. She is professional, kind and trustworthy! I will continue to book with her as long as she is available!”

“Grace is absolutely wonderful! She did a fantastic job with our dogs and keeping our house managed. I highly recommend using her and we would definitely use her again.”

“Anna was beyond amazing! She watched my dog for a week while I was out of town and was very communicative, checking in with me every day and sending photos and videos. I felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her and am so excited to have found Anna so she can help watch my pup again in the future! I can’t recommend her enough!! :)”

“I'm extremely pleased with the overall care that Erin provided my two kitties while I was away on vacation. Erin was super communicative throughout her stay and I really appreciated the pictures and updates. She provided medication administration for one of my cats twice a day and followed my instructions for both cats perfectly. She truly allowed me to enjoy my vacation without worrying about anything back home. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent sitter and look forward to booking her for future stays!”

“Emily is amazing!! We are so grateful to her for being so caring and for always communicating with us to let us know how our kitties are doing. She watched them for 10 days while we were away and we managed to have a totally stress-free vacation thanks to her!! We would 100% rebook Emily again- our cats adore her (even the one with severe anxiety)!!!”

“Danielle was absolutely fantastic and so easy to work with! She took incredible care of our two dogs and kept us at ease the entire time. Her communication was wonderful, and we loved the detailed feedback and updates she provided throughout the stay. It’s clear she truly cares about the animals she watches. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Miss Penny was so professional and personal right from the beginning. She took such great care of our pups and sent tons of pictures. I will absolutely ask Miss Penny to watch our doggos again, and I would recommend her to anyone confidently.”

“Justin was amazing! I’m so grateful he took such great care of my baby Nittany. She’s on multiple seizure medications, so I needed someone truly reliable to give them on time, and Justin absolutely delivered. He even kept a close eye on her sneaky ways of trying to avoid them (not surprised, lol)! I would 100% book with Justin again and recommend him to everyone on this app. Thank you, Justin!”

“Elizabeth came highly recommended by another superb housesitter, and she lived up to every expectation. She sent regular check-ins, with photos of our pets showing them calm and content; and we returned to a house in fine order. Thanks, Beth!”

“Megan is a great find! She is great with senior dogs and very communicative and responsible. We were lucky to find her and will definitely book her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dublin
We have a very anxious dog but after we were gone for a day I knew I didn’t have to worry. Olivia was always in touch with me and sent many pictures. She has just the right demeanor for anxious dogs and Phoebe took to her quickly. Giving meds and dealing with Phoebe’s different foods and odd schedule was not a problem for Olivia. The house was left clean and she even cleaned the bathroom! Would use her again when she’s not in school. We were gone 5 days and all was well when we came back. Thanks Olivia!

Hayley is an excellent dog sitter and I would definitely recommend her. She is especially qualified with her degrees in zoology and her training and work experience as a dog trainer at Petsmart. She watched my dog Birdie for 5 days, staying overnight and did a great job of caring for, giving meds to, walking, and even training my dog. Thanks Hayley.

Laci stayed with our two dogs for 10 days and did an incredible job with them. She stayed over the 4th of July weekend and took excellent care of our dog who is very scared of fireworks. She kept her calm and distracted, and followed our instructions to supplement her normal medication schedule. (Our dog has Addison's Disease and her stress levels need to be kept low and managed through medications.) I trust Laci 110% with our pets and our home. She is wonderful.

Jennifer H.did a wonderful job taking care of our cat and our house while we were on vacation, We were gone 11 days. She was very conscientious. She brought our mail in and took our garbage out. She was very caring toward our 11 year old, grumpy cat. Our cat ate well and used his litter box per usual. She gave him the space and distance he needed and made us feel comfortable that he was doing well so we could enjoy our time on vacation. She texted us with daily photos to keep us updated. I appreciated all of these texts. I will use her services again and I can highly recommend her services. Thank you Jennifer for your amazing care.

Wow! Sophie was responsive, responsible, and so so kind. We have a pup who was recently diagnosed with a chronic illness that we are still trying to figure out. Sophie was able to jump right in so we could still go on our long-planned vacation. I was nervous about leaving our pup with another person, but WOW! Sophie kept me updated while still allowing me to have time away. She was absolutely wonderful with our pup. It feels like a relief to know that there are people like Sophie who will love your pup and care for them as much as you do!

Great dog sitters!! I recommend to anyone. Not only did they watch our house and dogs while we were gone for a week on vacation; they last minute watched our 3 dogs when we had a family emergency. It was such a relief knowing they were there. Lots of updates and pictures, and great with communication. Thank you guys so much for everything! :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dublin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dublin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dublin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
