“Janey is wonderful with my furbaby. She’s patient, attentive, and tailors her care to his specific needs, medical necessities (allergies & meds), safety concerns and unique Bichon qualities. She communicated daily updates concisely and consistently, along with great photos, which put me at ease. As a bonus, Janey organized my baby’s toys and belongings and leaves my place in order, much neater than how she found it. Overall, It’s a pleasure to work with her.”

About: I've been around dogs since I was a little kid. My family always had a dog, and many of my fondest childhood memories involve spending time with and taking care of them. When I started college was the first time I had full responsibility of taking care of my dad’s two dogs while he was away on a trip. Caring for two dogs with their distinct needs while juggling the demands of college coursework was a challenge especially as this was for an extended period of time. However, as I began to understand their unique needs and develop a routine that provided the necessary care and support they needed, the process became more manageable. Recognizing the importance of being attentive to their needs and ensuring their well-being was crucial. This experience not taught me how to be on top of their needs and give them the proper care and attention, but spending one-on-one time with them also helped me bond with them even more. At this moment I realized my love for dog sitting. I work a part time job during the day. Though am available for overnight dog sitting. Able to give morning walks, before I leave for my job at 11am. Finish work at 4:30pm and am able to give afternoon and night time walks/feeding. Please let me know if you have more questions. I prefer to care for pets in the clients home. I feel that this make your pet more comfortable, as they will be in both a familiar and safe environment.

“Allison was wonderful! She sent me photo updates of my pup while I was away, and left me a good detailed description of what they did: last time she ate, went to the bathroom, etc. I had Allison do the house sitting option and she left my house clean and tidy, you wouldn't hardly know she was there except for the extremely happy pup I came home to!!! Thanks Allison!”

About: Dogs of all sizes and breeds were a part of my family growing up. I've pet-sit for friends on trips, including caring for a senior dog, and multiple pets (2 pups and 3 cats) at once in the same home. I've fostered a few times, including a puppy being treated for heartworm but, my current place doesn't allow me the opportunity to care for animals. I'm able to provide care for your pets in your home and neighborhood. If they're on a special diet or require a specific feeding method, please let me know. I also have experience in giving baths, applying treatments, and administering medication. When taking pups on walks, I like to be mindful of the time and temperature so the pups aren't walking on burning asphalt. I also like to be mindful of cleaning up after your pups, so we're not leaving a mess for the community if we can help it. I can check-in on, play, feed, walk, and give attention to your pups. I'm available during the week and on the weekends, including nights. If you require walks &/or feeding outside of my available neighborhoods, there might be some additional fees depending on distance and time of day (if applicable). I'm able to pet sit in your home so that your pups are more comfy and relaxed. I like to provide a calm atmosphere for them, giving them lots of attention based on their needs, and try my best to stick to their routines. I'm available to stay the night or do drop-ins. I'm not a partier, and believe in taking care when handling other's things so rest assured that your home is in good hands.

“Emily was likely the best dog walker and house sitter I have ever used. I cannot believe the level of care she provided for my dog. She was left my house in perfect condition and kept great updates for my pup! SHE ALSO PRINTED OUT A PHOTO OF MY DOG!! Sooo sweet, love her, will use her again!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since last year. My neighbors have relied on me to walk, feed, and take care of their pets whenever they go on vacation. I'm currently applying to work at various hotels. I'm avaliable after 2 pm on weekdays, and I'm also avaliable on the weekends, but it varies depending on what I have going for me that week. In my home I feed, and walk our dog. I play with him. and make sure he gets the proper attention he needs. I also make sure he is secure at night. When walking him, if he wants to meet other dog friends on the way, we do that, but I make sure both dogs are calm and happy before engaging.

“Sasha is always so great with our pets, making sure they get lots of love and keeping them healthy and safe! She was great at communicating including any questions that came up along the way.”

About: New to Rover? Please ask for my promo code for $20 off when checking out. :) Aloha! I am a working professional living in Honolulu (Kakaako) and I work from home so your beloved pet has more attention and care than usual. I am a dog lover and have grown up with dogs my entire life. I will definitely be a dog parent one day but my doggy clients are amazing and keep me quite busy so I’m happy with this at the moment! Your dog is the only dog in my home when I am dog sitting. I like to provide 1:1 attention and provide a little more premium experience for your dog. This is why my rates are a bit higher. My clients like to say their dog is going on vacation too when they are with me! :) Your dog has my utmost attention, and I ensure they are well-loved and cared for as if they were my own dog. I am responsible, communicative, and respectful. I am happy to follow all the rules you have set at your home (ex: dietary restrictions, being allowed on bed or not). You can look forward to receiving pictures of your pet while you’re away and be reassured they are comfortable and well-cared for. I will always notify you immediately if there is an emergency regarding your pets. I will consider littermates or two dogs from the same household or if they are friends as long as they are both house-trained and do not exhibit aggression towards other dogs or people, since it’s more difficult to control two dogs while on a walk. Owners: Please be upfront about your dog and any issues, such as separation anxiety, no leash training, or aggression towards other dogs, or people. It's helpful to have this information and expectations when dog-sitting. :) Note: I live in an apartment building and, unfortunately, cannot care for a dog that is extremely aggressive towards other dogs or people. Mahalo for understanding. Drop-off: I can be flexible, but I may need to schedule some meetings outside of work hours. Pick up: I prefer around the same time they were picked up, but am flexible, given it's an hour or two. If it's 3 hours or more, a surcharge may apply; Rover will calculate the rate automatically. I work from home, so I am home most of the time with your dog. Dogs may be left alone during work hours for a few hours at most. On weekends, I either take your dog with us on outdoor excursions (if permitted). If your dog has separation anxiety, I try to take them with us, or I stay home and make a weekend to stay in. I live in a low-rise condo/apartment building and they have access to my whole apartment. I will always notify you immediately if there is an emergency regarding your pets. If no emergency vet is listed, I will go to the nearest available one. I typically walk dogs 3-4x a day minimum: first thing in the morning, a mid-day walk, after work, and before bedtime. If permitted, I will take them to the beach or hiking, or the nearby dog park. I always follow the owner's feeding schedule and other rules so as not to break any habits at home (ex: being allowed on furniture or not). I specialize in older/senior dogs so I know how to administer medications (oral medications, eye drops, and injections like insulin shots). I have also taken care of rescue dogs with trauma and understand dogs with anxiety or fear of things like loud noises, fireworks, etc. I can easily crate your dog if needed. If they tend to chew on things or go through the trash, let me know, and I can prevent that from happening. :)

“Kathaleen was absolutely amazing. She watched my dog Ghost for my 6 day vacation. She sent many pictures and gave great updates each day. I have an 87 pound German Shepherd, and she was great at handling and taking care of him. 10/10 will be using her for overnight stays, down to just simple drop ins when I’m working.”

Amy A.

“I own a 12lbs Shih Tzu mix named Mochi and there’s no one other than Amy that I’d trust to watch her when I’m out of town. I don’t know why, but Mochi absolutely loves her and that in itself is pretty impressive as she takes forever to warm up to someone. Amy also sends me text messages and pictures to let me know how she’s doing and that always puts my heart at ease on my long trips. She walks Mochi everyday and makes sure she gets plenty of exercise. I never worry when I’m out of town as Amy takes really great care of my dog and I never worry when I travel. If you need someone to watch your dog, Amy is a perfect choice!”

Downtown pet parents share their Rover experiences
We were so fortunate to have Liz watch our two dogs for a week while we were away. She was absolutely wonderful—attentive to their schedules and needs, caring for them as if they were her own. Liz kept in touch with us every day, sending both morning and evening updates along with pictures and videos that always made us smile and gave us such peace of mind. One of our senior pups (17 years old) decided to become an evening opera singer during our trip, and Liz went above and beyond to comfort and soothe her. She tried multiple things with patience and compassion until our girl was settled, which spoke volumes about her heart and dedication. Our other dog has had IVDD and multiple surgeries, so he needed extra care to avoid injury. Liz was wonderfully attentive to his comfort and mobility, making sure he was safe and supported throughout the week. Knowing he was in such capable and caring hands allowed us to truly relax. Liz is reliable, thoughtful, and incredibly caring. It was clear to us that she put our dogs’ comfort first and took her responsibility seriously. We came home to happy pups and a well-cared-for home, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We highly recommend Liz to anyone in need of a loving, responsible, and communicative pet and house sitter. She is truly a gem, and we feel so lucky to have found her.

Dakota and Irisha watched our two dogs and my son's two dogs so I could attend our granddaughters baby shower out of town. I found them last minute and it worked out perfectly. They kept me updated throughout the time with pictures that were very appreciated. I plan on using them in November when our granddaughter is born!

Matomi dog sat our dogs, Koda and Luna for 3 days. It has been awhile since we needed this service. Koda and Luna was well cared for, while we were away, Matomi also kept us updated and also sent us photos of Koda and Luna. The pictures she sent were so comforting for us to see because Koda and Luna look so comfortable and relaxed. We didn't feel any worries and felt so comfortable with Motomi caring for them and house sitting. We will always use Motomi when we need her services again. Thank you Motomi. Ray, Maki, Koda, and Luna.

Jessica always goes above and beyond to make sure my cat is well taken care of! We had the unfortunate situation of me being gone during the tsunami and she coordinated with me about different ways we would handle it depending on how the tsunami went and made every effort to make sure my cat would be taken care of. I’ll add that my cat is is on multiple medications, including dry pills, eye drops and an inhaler and she handles of it with ease

Chase is absolutely amazing. He is very good with communication and the animals all loved him so much. The cats felt very comfortable around him, I could tell in all the amazing pictures I got 🥰 I will most definitely be looking forward and completely comfortable with him looking after my fur babies in the future.

I have used Dominic 3 or 4 times now. He’s great!!! My dog always seems happy & well taken care of when I get home. I never have any stress about my dog or house when I’m away & Dominic is sitting. I will definitely continue to use him & would definitely refer him!!

Max 5 star ratings for Aris S! She took great care of my 5 kitties while on a long business/vacation trip. They have never taken to any other human other than me before but they took to Aris immediately. She'll be my #1 go to house/cat sitter going forward. Aris is someone you can trust and rely upon to take care of your kids - no doubt!

Elizabeth took absolutely fantastic care of our 2 yo Boxer. She played all his favorite games, watched his diet, and gave him lots of cuddles. She sent photos throughout the day each day of her stay, which was delightful. She also cared for our plants! She was super easy to communicate with and really responsive. She went out of her way to make things easy for us and even waited for us after a very late night flight so our boy wouldn’t be home alone at night. Elizabeth was everything we could have hoped for and more. We enthusiastically recommend her!
