James is phenomenal. Calm, caring, extremely trustworthy and reliable. I can’t say enough good things. He even took the time for a pre-visit to come and meet us and get the lay of the land prior to our trip. Really grateful for James!

I had a wonderful experience with Molly and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate care. She was professional, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I always felt confident that my pet was in great hands, and I appreciated the updates and photos that gave me peace of mind while I was away. Chewbacca was happy, well cared for, and excited to see her each visit, which says a lot. She was dependable, attentive to my pet's needs, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. I’m grateful for the excellent care and will definitely be booking with Molly again!

This was our first time using Rover, and therefore our first time having Jon walk our dog. We asked Jon to come by each day at 7, as it gets pretty hot here in the desert quite early in the morning. Sammi is used to hour long walks as well. We can say Jon did not disappoint! He was at our house every morning at 7 on the nose and gave our Sammi a full hour walk each day. They walked a mile plus on each journey and Sammi looked forward to seeing him every day. Could not have asked for a better experience!

About: Hello! Don't let my profile location deter you from reaching out, I have a very wide service area. I am available to care for all of your pets while you're away! Please contact me for a quote if you have a pet you'd like me to care for other than a dog or cat (submit it as a dog/cat request) ☺️ New to Rover? I have a discount code for you if you book your first service with me! I am available for night and evening drop-ins to feed and play with your pets. Do you work nights and hate leaving your babies alone? Are you going to a fancy dinner and want to make sure your pets are okay when you're gone? I can come by and give you some peace of mind. I can also care for other pets, including lizards, fish, hamsters, rabbits, etc. I am a huge animal lover. I adopted a senior dog years ago and he was the best dog ever, up until his very last day in December, 2023. Our household has water snails, fish, three cats, a dog, and a pig! I have experience with rabbits and hamsters and other small pets, and I have experience with special needs animals. My longest boarding to date was 5 months for a senior cat with Cerebellar hypoplasia. My schedule recently changed, so I am available on most days for drop-ins and walks. I also offer boarding, house sitting, and daycare. We are a very animal friendly household. I have a fenced yard and a kiddie pool so your doggos can play and keep cool! My piggy will be there to keep your baby company and I have a 14 year old kid who loves to snuggle and play with all your pets! Cats will enjoy their own space so they can feel comfortable ☺️ !!!Important Notes!!!: I love watching and caring for your snuggle bug(s)! However, I have to sleep too. If you can't pick up your pet before 7pm, one additional day of boarding or doggy daycare will be added to your booking. An additional fee will be added for dogs over 40 pounds. Dogs under 1 year and/or "bully breeds" will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. By booking with me, you acknowledge that if your puppo damages property, you are responsible for any cost of repairs or replacement. When damage occurs, it is usually caused by pets that do not crate or have high anxiety when left alone for even short periods. My policy on dog breeds and sizes is in place because of two separate incidents. First, I lost a beloved pet to a boarded Rover doggo on Christmas morning, 2020. Having to put my little pig Minnie in the freezer after being attacked on Christmas morning was a horribly traumatic experience. In June 2023 I was attacked by a 110lb Rover dog at a meet and greet and had to go to the hospital. If the owner had not been present, I would have been killed. These are incidents that I will not risk repeating. Thank you so much for understanding!

About: Joe and I have had dogs (Dalmation) and cats (Ocicats, Siamese) for as long as we've known each other. They become part of the family. We both work from home so your loved ones will get maximum attention, care and love. We look forward to providing the best possible care for your "family" member. We can give shots and medications where necessary. We are at home workers so your pet will have the needed attention all day and night. Alan used to show Dalmations and also showed Ocicats. We have raised several litters of dogs and cats and pets are always in a loving environment. We keep the house pet safe and the "guests" pretty much get the run of the house. We are conveniently located in the Desert Princess gated community on the North end of town where Cathedral City and Palm Springs meet. The community has one of the best areas for walking dogs with miles of trails.

About: As a vegan and former PETA staffer, I love and respect all animals. I also have veterinary technician, veterinary clinic, and animal shelter experience. I've rescued and cared for dogs (both large and small), cats, birds, rodents, reptiles, fish, horses and rabbits. I am completely dedicated to the safety, equality, and well-being of all animals. I work part-time as a photographer so have ample time to take care of your animal friends. And can, of course, provide you with some great photos to put your mind at ease while you're away from your fur babies! I am very active and love a good walk or hike. While I strive to always provide a fun, attention-filled experience, safety is my primary concern, so you can rest assured your animal friends will be in good hands for those times you can't be with them.

About: I'm a seasoned dog sitter and pet parent with 15 years’ experience. I enjoy any time spent with a great dog, including walks, playing at a dog park, hitting up a doggy happy hour (my dog’s favorite activity), or cuddling at home on the couch. I was previously in Asbury Park, NJ, for 5 years hosting dogs in my own home, but I’m currently in your area, eager to make shaggy new friends. I provide lots of love and kindness while sitting, walking and playing with your pets. As a Rover veteran, I have many five-star reviews and photos on my profile, and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. My schedule is very flexible as a full-time nomad. Reach out if you’re looking for a responsible, reliable caretaker. I’m happy to spend quality time with your pet. I do what I’m hired to do - plus I provide little extra love, pets and cuddles. We can all use a little bit more of that, yeah?

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of hands-on experience working as a groomer’s assistant, where I helped with bathing, brushing, grooming prep, and nail trims for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m comfortable handling nervous, energetic, senior, and special-needs pets, and I always focus on making them feel safe and cared for. I also have extensive experience fostering dogs for rescue organizations and helping animals in need, including rescuing pets off the streets and giving them loving homes. Caring for animals isn’t just work for me—it’s part of my everyday life. My home is full of happy pets, including three dogs, one cat, six birds, and a tortoise. I offer dependable and loving care including dog walking, drop-in visits, pet sitting, boarding, bathing, grooming support, and nail trims. I treat every pet like family and understand how important it is to know your pets are in good hands. I’d love the chance to care for your furry family members. I currently have a very open and flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care throughout the day. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, pet sitting, boarding, and last-minute bookings when needed. I can accommodate weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, and evenings to fit your pet’s routine. I’m dedicated to keeping your pet safe and happy. I make sure their space is peaceful, loving, and spotless, so they can feel secure and at ease. I pay close attention to their feeding times, medicine, exercise, and any special needs they might have. I also make sure to earn their trust and treat them as if they were part of my family, whether I’m taking care of them at my place or yours.

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
