“Heather did an amazing job with our two cats! We were nervous leaving our cats for so long while out of the country but after Heather’s first visit we knew they were going to be well cared for! She was even able to pet/play with our nervous girl which is quite the feat since friends/family rarely see her when they come over. I would 100% recommend Heather to care for your fur babies!”

“Taylor was absolutely amazing, she did a drop by to meet Twitty before we started our visits and she was so nice. Updated us everytime she dropped by and sent us pics and videos of our cat while she was there. She let us know if there was anything going on. We are going to be using Taylor every time she is available and we are out of town. 100% would recommend anyone to use her. Thanks Taylor!!”

“Soooo extremely happy I found Haiden! I was worried at first with how my pups are in the house and a new person coming in. Although they have never been aggressive I wasn’t sure how they were going to handle it! But Haiden came in and loved my babies! Thank you!”

“Five Stars! Andrea was absolutely wonderful with our fur babies! It was such a relief to find someone so reliable during the busy holiday season. She was incredibly attentive and followed every instruction in our care notes for both pets perfectly. Her rates are very reasonable for the high level of care she provides—you won’t be disappointed if you book with her!”

“Desiree was great! Showed up right on time for each visit, had no issues with all of my instructions and most importantly all four of my dogs were comfortable with her. Certainly recommend and will be using her services again!”

“Casey was fantastic! He treated my dog with so much care and attention. He went above and beyond my expectations. His communication was excellent, and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. 10/10 recommend Casey!”

“Suzanne’s very kind and gave lots of pictures and information about my sweet boy. He is definitely a wild puppy and she spent time with him and cared for him well. I felt confident leaving him in her care and will book again for sure!”

“Brandon and Melissa did an outstanding job caring for our cat over the Labor day weekend! We had never left him before and I was nervous he would not handle being alone. They updated us with pictures daily and Trooper was perfectly happy when we got home! I will definitely contact them again if we leave him at home again. They were delightful and gave me a sense of peace knowing my cat was being cared for by such caring people!!”

“Laura was wonderful with my babies. She sent photos of the dogs outside. She followed directions on their food/water feeding. She is very trustworthy, pays attention to detail. Laura was within the timeframe we discussed, she text me when she saw it appeared someone else had been in my home. (I failed to inform her a domestic keeper would also be there at times) I will definitely be using her again.”

“Thanks Jennifer for doing a great job watching the kitties! We really appreciate you making sure everyone gets pets and attention when we are gone. Thank you for taking time to take out the smelly garbage too!”

“Lori is amazing! She is super sweet and super understanding. She did wonderful taking great care of my fur babies while away and messaged me letting me know how they are with pictures. One of my fur babies is timid with new people but she was able to get her very comfortable quickly. They are my babies so leaving them was so hard but she made me feel so much better about the whole process. Definitely recommend her and will definitely ask for her help in the future.”

“Heather did an amazing job pet sitting for our cat Otis. She kept us up to date every day with how things were going and sent great pictures. I would highly recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs and hope to use her again the next time we are away!”

“Natasha was absolutely amazing! We have a very anxious cat and she went at his pace when she came to check on him and we couldn't be anymore thankful. She was extremely communicative and let us know what was going on every step of the way. Very detailed check ins! It's hard to find a cat person on rover but we are so glad we found Natasha!! Thank you so much!”

My booking was last minute and I wasnt able to get my usual sitter, however Heather saved rhe day. She did an amazing job with my babies! She made sure to keep in contact when she would be delayed even if by 1 hour. I really appreciated the open communication. The food area was clean and the litter box did NOT smell. Wonderful job! I will be using Heather again.

Alyssa took on our pets last minute after another sitter fell through on the same day! She was a life saver. We were so happy to have found her through Rover’s customer service and will be booking with her again for the future. She took care of our large dog and 2 cats and made sure they received all the lovings while we were gone. She kept our space neat and tidy after our pets would make normal pet mess like tracking dust and litter. Updates were great and our pets looked obviously happy in each picture.

I would highly recommend Haley to anyone looking for someone to care for animals. She was everything I needed!!! Animals were well taken care of, she cleaned and watered etc. She was great with my older cats! Earned their trust and gave treats etc. she had arranged a meet and greet ahead of time so I left town with zero worries!!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
