About: Pets aren’t just my first love—they’re my passion and the heart of what I do. I’ve built my career around caring for animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As a veterinary technician with over 5 years of experience, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a variety of needs, including administering medications, handling emergencies, and recognizing when something may be wrong. I’ve also been pet sitting for 3 years and have been caring for and walking dogs my entire life, including my own pets and those of friends and neighbors. My veterinary background allows me to provide an extra level of confidence and peace of mind while you’re away. Your pet’s well-being is always my top priority. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I’m happy to follow your instructions and accommodate your preferences. I know pets are more than companions—they’re family and our best friends. My goal is to make sure they feel just as happy, safe, and loved while they’re in my care as they do at home. ❤️🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, especially because I work from home. I’m able to provide pets with plenty of attention, companionship, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and regular care throughout the day. My flexible schedule allows me to be present and attentive rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. As a veterinary technician, caring for animals is already a big part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy making sure every pet feels comfortable, safe, and loved. I care for every pet as if they were my own, while making sure to follow each owner’s instructions and routine. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions. As a veterinary technician with over 5 years of experience, I’m also comfortable administering medications and recognizing signs that may require additional attention. Whether caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, my priority is keeping them safe, comfortable, happy, and on their normal routine. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks, potty breaks, meals, and lots of love. Since I work from home, I’m able to be present and give pets consistent companionship and supervision throughout the day.
“Honestly, probably the best sitter I’ve ever had. My dog is a rescue and can be very needy at times, but was super comfortable the entire time and enjoyed every visit. I felt very comfortable being out of state, knowing she was taken care of. Would definitely recommend.”

“First time booking with Rover. There was so many to choose from but I think we picked the perfect match for Honey. Heather took care of her very well and put my worries to ease by having to leave Honey for a few days. Definitely recommend.”

“Desireé was Great!! Spent quality time and took some great photos to keep us updated on BOTH our babies. No issues or concerns in the slightest!! Will definitely reach out for any future needs!”

“Dear Alexandria, I just wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you for watching my two bulldogs. I truly appreciate you taking the time to care for them and give them the attention, love, and patience they needed while I was away. Knowing they were in good hands gave me such peace of mind. They can definitely be a handful sometimes, but you took great care of them, and I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you again for everything you did. It means more to me than you know, and I really appreciate having someone I can trust with my two babies! Sincerely, Michael and Terri”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life (of all ages) and enjoy working with them. I currently have 3 dogs that require lots of attention! Most dogs take an instant liking and trust with me and so do cats. I have no allergies to pets either. I have 2 years of exotics professionally with birds, amphibians, and reptiles. I also have my bachelors in environmental science with a concentration in animal sciences. Senior dogs, especially hounds, have my heart! I’m currently job-hunting and am looking for income to raise money for law school. I am free most days and can do weekends and overnight stays. I have a full fenced backyard as well as a dog door for emergencies. I feed my dogs separately. Room doors are always open if animals need anything and a doggie door to go outside. At your home you can expect respect and cleanliness. I appreciate written instructions on how you like things at your home. Additionally, please let me know rules on eating in the house, guests, etc.
“Emily was fantastic! I had to use Rover for the first time due to a family emergency that required me to travel four hours away from home, and she made the whole experience so much easier. Even though she had never met my dogs before, she followed all of my instructions, kept me updated the entire time, and sent plenty of photos so I knew they were doing well. She spent the full amount of time with them, sat with them, cared for them, and truly gave me peace of mind while I was away. I would 100% use Emily again. She is now my go-to Rover sitter anytime we go out of town or have a vacation planned. She is attentive, respectful, sweet, and did such a great job with my dogs. I highly recommend her!”

“Our cats love Jessicca and we always know they are in good hands when we are out of town. She is always communicative, punctual and reliable. Thank you for giving us ease while we are away!”

“Brooke was so accommodating watching my animals at the last minute. She was very communicative and let me know everything was done from my special instructions. She played with my dogs and wore them out so they wouldn’t be restless when I got home.”

“Ava was perfect for my 11 year old lab while I was gone for a week. She was super communicative and flexible giving consistent updates and paying attention to how my dog was acting so I didn’t have to stress or wonder.”

“Casey was wonderful! What should have been a simple few days of drop-in visits turned out to be chaos. But, with all the problems on our end, he handled everything admirably- and with a calm that put us all at ease. I can't thank him enough!”

About: I've had dogs ever since I was a child. Big and small dogs! I have one dog, named Benson (Great Pyrenees). He loves going on walks and cuddling on the couch. I am a teacher, so in the summer I'm all free! I have a dog at home as well. I have a few trips and summer plans but not much. I have a yard for him and he loves going on walks. He is a free feeder and nonaggressive. He typically is sleeping more than awake.

“Carol is the best!!! She’s a 10 out of 10. I will use her every time I can that she is available. She’s a great communicator and is amazing with my animals. If she’s available, book her. You’re welcome.”

“We used this caretaker for a day, drop-in visits, for our 3 dogs and 1 cat. She really went above and beyond! We could not have been more pleased, and our pets were all very happy. Thanks for relieving our anxiety!”

About: My whole life I’ve grown up with full house of dogs and cats, so when it comes to knowing how to love or care for fur babies I know a thing or two. :) I have however been caring for other people’s fur babies for the past year and a half, and I’m pretty quick with adapting so it’s definitely become something I enjoy. As of right now I stay home 24/7 because I am unemployed and a full time college student on summer break. Of course when school starts up again I will have a schedule during the day but nothing crazy just a class or two during the day. I have a much older dog so he tends to sleep for the most part but still loves his outside time. I try to let him enjoy being outside seeing as that’s the only time he’s active unless I take him on a walk or dog park. I don’t usually take him on long walks rather short ones just cause he gets tired fast now. He is well trained to get my attention when in need of food or needing to potty, so I just pay attention to cues he gives me, but other than that we chill.
About: Hi everyone! My name is Kiara Myre, and I’m originally from Anchorage, Alaska. I’ve grown up around animals my entire life and have always had a genuine love for caring for them. Over the years, I’ve learned that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I really enjoy getting to know each pup individually. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I’m comfortable following each dog’s specific routine and care instructions. I also have experience administering medication to dogs when needed. My own dogs, Olive and Ruby, are a huge part of my life, and I previously helped raise and train my family’s Cane Corso, Harley. Working with Harley taught me a lot about patience, consistency, boundaries, and understanding that every dog responds differently. He also taught me that, at the end of the day, dogs want to feel loved, safe, and included. For drop-in visits, I’m happy to provide whatever your pup needs—potty breaks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, cuddles, medication, or simply some company and attention. For walks, I love getting dogs outside for exercise and enrichment, whether they enjoy a relaxed neighborhood walk or a little more activity. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else’s care. I’ll treat your dogs with the same love, patience, and attention I give Olive and Ruby, while making sure their normal routine is followed as closely as possible. I’ll also keep you updated during each visit, so you know how your pup is doing. I genuinely love animals and would be excited to meet you and your fur babies! I have a flexible schedule and am primarily available for morning and midday dog walks and drop-in visits. I love helping pets stick to their normal routine while their owners are at work or away for the day. I’m reliable, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s usual schedule and care instructions. Whether they need a morning walk, a midday potty break, a meal, or just some extra attention and playtime, I’m happy to be there! The safety and comfort of your pets are my top priorities. During drop-in visits, I’ll follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, fresh water, medications, potty breaks, playtime, and any other care they need. For walks, I’m attentive to my surroundings and always prioritize your dog’s safety. I make sure gates and doors are securely closed, keep dogs leashed unless you specifically instruct otherwise, and avoid situations that could make your pet uncomfortable or unsafe. I understand that trusting someone with your pets and your home is a big deal. I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own and your pets with the same patience, care, and attention I give my own dogs, Olive and Ruby. I’ll also keep you updated during visits, so you know your pets are happy, safe, and cared for.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
