“Anthony was very kind and made sure that our pup felt comfortable and at home. It was our dogs first time going to someone else and he was very understanding of that!”

“Nancy was an MVP taking care of my dog. Nancy was super kind with my dog, she walked my dog as she needed, also my dog was able to stay in Nancy's furniture like the sofa and the bed, my dog enjoys those places. I highly recommend her to sit your pet.”

“Corina and her family were a Godsend. In the midst of a family emergency and really hard week, Corina was quick and easy to book with and sent loads of photos and videos of my pups. She has a large backyard for playing, was careful with them in the heat, and I could tell my dogs loved her. She let them be part of her family during their time together and that brought so much peace during a difficult time. I'd recommend her to anyone!”

“Shawndra had my babies for about 11 days. They were spoiled, loved and so well taken care of. They loved their time with Shawndra. It was so nice to be able to go on vacation and not have to worry about them at all. She sent pictures and kept me updated throughout my trip. I will definitely use her again.”

“We always enjoy having Rochelle care for our pup. She sends us regular updates about how our pup is doing and lets us know if there are any concerns. She cares about the individual personality of each pet and loves to spend time with them!”

“Jessica watched our senior dog. She did an amazing job with her. Jessica kept us informed through texts, pictures, and videos of our dog. She went above and beyond what we expected. She has a beautiful home with 2 super sweet dogs. We will definitely use Jessica again.”
“My first time using Rover and was a little skeptical but i can say that I dont regret it a single bit. Its was a basically a last minute reservation and Specer came thru. Spencer is a great dog sitter, I can really see that Bandit enjoyed his time with him. He was constantly sending pictures and videos to show us how Bandit was. 100% Will be rebooking with him in future occasions.”

“Left Pancho in really good hands! I could tell he was comfortable right away. I also got multiple updates and pictures throughout the day which I appreciated a ton! Layla and Teddy were the best hosts.”

“Kaci and her husband watched my 3 year old boston terrier for a week. They have two dogs of their own and my boston got along great with them. She sent pics and gave updates the entire week. Did the dogs have fun together? Well...lets just say mine was exhausted the night that I picked him up...”

“Communication was great and she answered all my questions. My Lucy is still learning her new life and Sheila worked gracefully with her. She will definitely be my 1st choice with future boardings. Thank you for taking great care of her!”

Omg! Oh what can I say about Mr. Anthony!!! Anthony is totally awesome! I know I got on his nerves checking up on Leo, but he was very patient and kind. He answered ALL of my questions, sent me photos, and provided me with updates which really put my mind at ease. My husband and I are both retired so we travel quite a bit. I have been looking for someone I felt comfortable with to care for my boy for quite sometime now. I have found that person in Anthony! We have already rebooked for our next trip. Leo seemed to have really enjoyed himself! Thank so much Anthony the care you provided for my sweet boy!!!

Lauren and her family were so great with our dog, Maisey! We got updates and pictures throughout the week with how she was doing, which really put us at ease. They really just included her as part of their family for the week. After we picked her up, I think she may have been a little sad to leave. That definitely speaks to the care she received! Thanks for taking such good care of our girl!

Lindsay was wonderful! She sent pictures of my puppy throughout the day and kept me updated on how he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind. Her regular progress reports reassured me that he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I truly appreciated her communication and would definitely trust her to watch my puppy again in the future.

Wendi is amazing! I have never left my pups with someone I didn’t know but after meeting Wendi I was completely at ease. My dogs immediately loved her and her husband, even my shy boy Colt, so I knew they were in good hands. She kept me updated about how my babies were doing and pictures of all the fun they were having. Colt, Ryder, and I highly recommend Wendi to take care of your pups!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cross Timber home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cross Timber.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cross Timber sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
