“Zack was absolutely amazing with my two dogs while I was away for a few days. My German Shepherd mix isn’t the easiest dog to care for, but Zack went above and beyond to make sure both of my dogs were happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. He’s responsible, trustworthy, and always on time. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dogs were in such great hands. I came home to two happy, relaxed pups, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Zack to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, and I will definitely be booking him again in the future!”

About: I have had a pet dog or cat ever since I was born. I have had experience with pets at a variety of ages, including very young, and super seniors, such as 20. Depending on the times that you may need sitting, I am available to come early in the morning, feed to your specifications, and do a variety of other pet caring chores. If your pet requires lots of play to get energy out, that is something I more more than happy to do. I have helped care for a variety of age groups and energies. Theres a big difference in the work required for an active puppy, and an aging friend.
“My Maltipoo has trust issues walking with anyone but me but was comfortable going for a walk with Jesse C. This makes me so happy and with less stress leaving my pup for work etc.”

About: I genuinely love walking dogs and believe that a well-exercised dog is a happier, healthier dog. Whether your pup enjoys a leisurely neighborhood stroll or a long, energetic hike, I’m happy to tailor each walk to their age, personality, and energy level. I’m in excellent physical shape and enjoy being active, so I’m comfortable with everything from short potty breaks to longer adventures that help dogs stay mentally and physically stimulated. My goal is to make every walk safe, fun, and something your dog looks forward to. I have prior experience caring for celebrity clients’ dogs, but I treat every dog like a VIP. I am also an artist who loves creating pet portraits of many of my former and current customers! After retiring from the corporate world, I’m excited to devote my time to something I’ve always loved—caring for pets. I began dog walking and pet sitting for a celebrity couple in 2002 as a side job, and now I’m making pet care my full-time focus. My schedule is flexible, and I’m available most days for walks, drop-in visits, and pet care. I look forward to giving every pet the attention, exercise, and loving care they deserve. I have experience caring for pets both in clients’ homes and in my own. For about a year, I worked for a couple in the entertainment industry, providing daily care for their pets while they traveled for work. I was trusted not only with their pets, but also with the security and care of their home, including overnight, weekend, and extended stays. I understand the importance of being dependable, respectful of your home, and keeping you updated while you’re away. At home, I recently said goodbye to my beloved companion, Charlie, after nearly 13 wonderful years together. While our home doesn’t currently have pets of its own, that means I can devote my full attention and care to your pet. I prefer to care for one family’s pet(s) at a time so they receive the individualized attention, love, and companionship they deserve.

“Such a great experience. I knew reading the bio I wanted to book Belle. She was prompt, efficient, and communication was seamless from start to finish. Everything felt easy and handled with care. I really appreciated how smooth the whole process was and my dogs were happy and well cared for. Would absolutely book again.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for friends, family, and neighbors, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, or sticking to their normal routine, I make sure every pet feels comfortable, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I understand that every pet has a different personality and needs, so I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow any special instructions. I treat every pet like they’re my own, and my goal is to give owners complete peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in good hands. As a college student on summer break, I have a very flexible schedule and am available throughout the day for drop-in visits, walks, or overnight care. I’m also happy to commute to make pet care as convenient as possible for you Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll carefully follow your instructions, keep doors and gates secure, make sure your pet always has fresh food and water, and maintain their normal routine to help them feel comfortable. I’ll also treat your home with respect, keep everything clean, and send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Outstanding and reliable, with excellent communication! We have several pets (cat, tortoise, dragon, dogs, fish) and it’s good to know that we can count on Oli to perform our complicated pet routine when we’re away. Thanks!”

About: Hi! I'm Marty! I have been an animal lover my whole life. I enjoy spending time with other people's pets when they go on vacation or they are busy. I'd be honored to walk, play with, love, and/or sit for your furry family members when needed. I live in the area, and I am available when your fur babies need some extra attention, exercise, love, and care while you are away. I'm currently available full time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pets! I'm open and available for boarding as well. I love being outdoors, and going on walks in nature. I also live in a beautiful complex that is pet friendly with lots of outdoor grassy nature areas, and a big park to walk to and play in just three blocks away from me. I can crate your pet too if needed.
About: I have experience dog sitting and handling dogs of all ages and sizes! I am compassionate and caring ensuring the best care is provided every time I currently have a very open availability to provide care in the home setting as well as walks and visits. I am passionate for caring for animals and make it a priority to be dependable in my care. I make cleanliness a priority ensuring that the pet is safely and lovingly taken care of while maintaining the cleanliness of the home for the pet owner! Making sure the pet is safe and cared for is always my number one priority at all times including when walking the dogs, inside the home or in the yard etc.
About: The last two dogs I had were the best pets I've ever had, one in particular I took everywhere, hiking, running, swimming and even to play basketball. I even took her halfway up Mt. Diablo one time. I feel like every dog owner should expose their dogs to many outside environments, something other than there backyard or house. The only regrets I have about my past ownership is not taking my dogs out everyday. As an owner I believe that dogs should be treated more than just a convenient stress reliever. Dogs can be your closest friend so they ought to be cared for and treated like a great one. What I bring to the table is a genuine love for all dogs and an understanding of their needs. I can be fairly flexible on weekdays for visits and walks, but am mostly available only in the afternoon. Weekends, I am pretty much always available. House sits I can do any day of the week. To start off, I always start off by caring for the pet as outlined by the owner (routines, feeding schedules, medications, things to avoid, walks). But in addition to that, I like to have some fun with the dogs that I sit. I will play with them a bit and in general just hang out with them.

I’m currently working part time, and am looking for a full time teaching job. I am a certified English teacher that has recently moved to the area, right now my schedule is fairly open as I am tutoring and substitute teaching. I will care for pets at my client’s home. I also have a golden retriever that gets along with all dogs, cats and kids, so if your dog wanted to play, I could bring her over.

Whether your pup or kitty loves playtime, walks, cuddles, or just a calm companion, I’ll make sure they get the attention and care they deserve :). I’m currently only part-time, my shifts are no longer than 6 hrs, and I work about 4x a week. Which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for pets. I wake up early and can provide morning feedings, giving medication, and regular checkups throughout the day. Pets are never left alone for extended periods of time. As a dog owner, I’m experienced with daily pet care including feeding, exercise, and playtime. My dog enjoy spending time in our secured backyard, where they can run around and play safely. “Courtney was absolutely amazing. I'm a crazy dog mom & hadn't ever left my girl. She's a therapy dog & my medical service dog & she goes everywhere with me but we were going to an airshow & I was worried about her ears so I didn't want to take her. We were camping in Malibu & it was difficult to find someone because everyone was a good distance from here but Courtney was agreeable to come to our RV park. She hadn't been here before & was so great at following directions. My dog loved her, I could see from the photos how happy she was. Courtney walked her & played with her. I couldn't recommend her more highly She kept me updated, communicated well, was on time, and most importantly made my pup so happy. She sent me updates for both visits and a lot of really cute pictures. I'm a sitter here on Rover as well and am very picky but if you're looking for a great dog walker/sitter, look no further...Courtney is absolutely FANTASTIC! I can highly recommend her and I will definitely book with her again in the future when we're in the area.”

About: Hello fellow dog lover! I work from home with flexible hours, solo household, no children. I love love love dogs and think they’re special little gifts! Yours will have the most wonderful single-pet staycation, be safe, sweetly cared for, played with, and walked. I love walks, rain or shine, but if your pup is not a fan or is a senior, we can Netflix & chill instead ;). I typically board one family’s pets at a time so they get my full attention and it’s more like home. I previously fostered over 30 dogs large & small for a SoCal rescue (not all at once ;). Many needed special or medical care. Currently no dogs of my own, but I did raise the sweetest girl for 16 years who was on the news for being the oldest of her breed. She was a soulful character. I look forward to meeting yours! Available 7 days a week and most holidays. Same-day walking requests are also welcome. I work from home with flexible hours, and can keep your fur friends comfy, healthy and happy! I’ll be sure to send you daily updates with adorable photos :). I live in a safe gated townhome, lots of grassy and shaded sidewalk areas within, as well as hiking trails adjacent! My home and personality are chill. But I love outdoor adventure, and hiking if your dog is up for that too. Your pet is welcome on my couch for extra snuggles but I adhere to the same house rules you’ve trained them to follow. I provide feeding & water bowls. Please bring their harness, leash, and usual food so we keep their tummy happy. Anything else you think will make their stay better is welcome.

About: I'm a sensitive, caring responsible individual who loves to play with dogs and with whom dogs love to play. I've worked at the Glendale, CA Humane Society Shelter walking dogs and really enjoyed the experience. I've owned dogs for a good part of my life. However, I recently had to put Taffy, my last dog, to sleep. She was 16 and not doing well. It was heart wrenching and I thought perhaps that rather getting another, I could give the love I have for dogs to others, without having the ultimate burden of ownership. I live in Agoura Hills, CA. There lots of room for dogs to walk and play, lots of trees and grass for dogs to sniff and explore. There are also lots of other dogs in the community and opportunities for dogs to socialize, if the owners and the dogs want. I have a fenced yard and I work from home. I have a flexible schedule. Consequently, I can adapt my schedule to your dog's schedule. I have a fenced yard and I have no other dogs. Even though the house is on two levels, it's easy for dogs to navigate.
About: I love dogs and have had dogs all of my live, and had taken care of them when they were puppies, so potty training, playing and keeping and eye on them, and also when they were sick and old, so giving extra attention to their wellbeing. Pets are family members that need to be cared for, treated with respect, as well as provide them with some fun play time. I’m currently working part time so I have time to spend with your pet during week days and can provide visits twice a day in case that is needed. I would keep them on their leash whenever we are outside, always keep the door closed to avoid them running away and follow the house rules.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cornell. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
