“Heath Bar didn’t make it easy - he barked the entire time at Danielle’s unless she was there with him, I k ew he had separation anxiety but the only time it presented for the last several years was while he was alone in the car. His being alone in the house was not a problem for him. My take away is to be certain someone will be at home with him for most of the time he will be in someone else’s care. Danielle was very responsive and kept me informed the day Heath was in her care.”

“Tanisha was fantastic with my dog Morty. My dog is reactive and nervous around new dogs, and she was willing to do whatever it takes to make sure he would feel comfortable with her and her dog. We did a meet and greet, followed by a test overnight board and test daycare. It was incredible to see how well my dog settled in with her. You can tell she cares a lot about the dogs she watches. I got a lot of pictures and videos of my dog while he was with Tanisha (more than I've ever gotten from a sitter). I highly recommend Tanisha!”

I don’t just “watch” dogs—I engage with them through structured play, enrichment activities, and tailored routines based on their needs and personalities. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as a stay-at-home mom. I’m already used to maintaining a structured, nurturing environment, and that translates perfectly to caring for pets. About: Animals have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. Raised on a farm and on a pre-vet track from a young age, I’ve spent decades caring for animals of all kinds—from house pets to livestock to wildlife. Starting at 14, I volunteered in local vet clinics and wildlife rehab centers, gaining hands-on experience with everything from cats and dogs to peacocks, horses, goats, snakes, fish, birds, and cattle. At UC Davis, I deepened my care skills while working at the world-renowned Vet Hospital, tending to cats and dogs during the swing shift. I also worked with campus goats, pigs, sheep, fish, cattle, and horses—and even fostered cats for the hospital. Now in my 30s, I’m an education professional and dedicated pet mom to both cats and dogs. I continue to care for friends’ and neighbors’ pets with the same compassion, attention, and responsibility that’s guided me my whole life. I’m certified in Cat & Dog CPR & First Aid, and Infant, Child, and Adult CPR/AED/First Aid, and have emergency care experience with animals large and small. I’m calm under pressure, reliable, and always communicate clearly—your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I'm currently taking a break from teaching, and being a full-time stay-at-home mama to my 3 year old daughter and 6 month old son. I have plenty of time to care for your furry family member. Please note that at this time, we are seeking families whose pets are comfortable around toddlers and babies. I have a fully fenced yard, and a park just around the corner from my house for those whose furry friends enjoy a stretch, walk, or playtime! I am comfortable using a crate, and we have plenty of floor room in the house (carpet and laminate) for them to lay down if they're not crate trained. We do not allow dogs on the furniture. Cats are allowed to wander the house. We are more than happy to put up child gates to keep your furry family member in certain areas of the house if they're prone to getting into things (such as stuffed animals for the kiddos... I mean really, a lot of doggie toys these days look so similar! I'd understand the misconception. lol) We're not afraid to be firm but kind if your family member needs set boundaries.

“April was so kind, supportive, and understanding of my special senior!!! For context, my 14 year old dog was currently undergoing a med change due to doggy dementia so he needed extra supervision while we navigated this process. With the med change also came a lot of changes to his temperament/behavior. Despite being a super anxious, pretty reactive dog with a history of trauma (very slow to warm to strangers), April was so patient and empathetic to our situation and really went above and beyond to help us and our dog feel as comfortable as possible. I was happy to learn that my dog was even following her around a bit during his stay (which he doesn't even do with people he's met before)! I was so relieved when she sent her detailed text updates (with adorable doggy pics) and loved how proactive & transparent she was about making his next stay even more accomodating. We are definitely looking forward to booking with her again, 10/10 would recommend!”
