“Beverly was AMAZING. Kept in contact with me every step of the way, sent me the greatest photo updates, taught my puppy some new lessons, took incredible care of him, even washed my dishes she returned that my puppy had used while staying with her. I can’t say enough good things about her. I will absolutely be using her every time I go out of town. Her house was an incredible set up for dogs, especially the backyard. My puppy had the best time and didn’t want to leave. Thank you, Beverly!!!”

“It is an oasis for any dog, plenty of attention, play, great yard, and large house. They have thought of everything and gave my shy dog the perfect place to be herself and blossom. Super nice communication too!”

About: I have taken care of pets from a very young age carrying for dogs and cats and even horses, rabbits, chickens, goats and more where I grew up in the country. Most recently I pet sat regularly in Woodlake for several families including senior pets on medication and special needs pets, overnight sits in the home and taking care of multiple animals for a week at a time. I am compassionate and kind and will follow whatever guidelines you already have in place for your kids to not back track on training. I'm currently available full-time to help your pets be happy while you're away. My schedule is flexible for boarding, drop-ins, walking and more. We have two friendly dogs that will help keep your fur baby company if so desired. Otherwise they can be separated if need be in different areas of the home or crated away from one another for down time.

“Rosalind is always very responsive and reliable. My puppy always seems to have a good time and comes back in a great mood. I enjoy using her for my trips because I know my dog is in good hands.”

“Candice is amazing!!! I don't have any human children and Daisy is my only Fur Baby so it's always extremely hard to leave her. Candice was so caring and welcoming, Daisy felt at ease almost immediately which provided a level of comfort and peace that I haven't experienced with any other sitter. The pictures and updates allowed me to further relax, especially considering how happy my baby looked. I highly recommend Candice and will definitely contact her first for all of my pet-sitting needs.”
“Tracey was the best sitter! She was very attentive and communicated often with pictures to let me know he was ok. Pepper seemed extremely happy in her care along with her fur babies. It helps that she's right across from the dog park for lots of fun time. Will book again and recommend to others!”
“Elaine and Steven took wonderful care of our hyper Goldendoodle, no easy assignment given his energy levels. He came back to us better behaved, calmer, and better socialized. Elaine and Steven also took time to update us with photos and reports of our dog’s state of being. They have a wonderful, large property, with lots of room for dogs to explore. Thanks to Elaine and Steven, our dog had a better vacation than we did. I cannot recommend Elaine and Steven more enthusiastically.”

“Kourtney was awesome with our baby girl Daisy Mae! We were pretty nervous because Daisy is just under 2 years old and had never been boarded or babysat. Kourtney was great, providing updates every day and we can tell Daisy was well taken care of. Thanks Kourtney!”

“Kaitlin was awesome. She took our dog on short notice, over a busy week. Really appreciative of her taking her on such short notice. Sent pictures often, and let us know how she was doing. Our dog was nervous in a strange home, but she was understanding of that.”

“Andrada took great care of my girl! She sent a lot of pictures, videos, and updates which I appreciated. She made me feel comfortable that things were going well so I could enjoy my trip. My dog was happy when I picked her up and I would use Andrada again!”

“Sara and Jakob were great with Kingsley. They seem to really know animals and how to handle them as well. We needed someone who will provide just the right amount of play and rest for Kingsley as he is a Big Energetic puppy. Sara provided pictures and videos daily and let me know Kingsley's schedule everyday at "winter camp" with her own doggies lol. Two days before the end of our boarding period, I asked if they would give Kingsley a bath at extra cost and they happily said yes even though it was kind of last minute and Kingsley is a big dog! Kingsley came back very clean and happy. We felt good during our time away and was able to enjoy our trip knowing that Kingsley was being taken care of. We are definitely going to take Kingsley to Sara again the next time we are away! Thanks guys!”

“Adam is a natural, per Cooper. We knew the moment we met him that Cooper was in good hands. Cooper took to him immediately and made himself at home. We got him back last night and Cooper was calm and happy. Thanks Adam!!!”

Siobhan was great! She kept me posted about Shade and sent pictures. I liked she had other dogs for Shade to interact with. A plus is Siobhan’s location is very convenient to where I live. This is the third time I requested her services, however was only fortunate to book twice. Very pleased and would recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
