I received many pictures from the beginning to the end of the stay. Lisa is definitely a breathe of fresh air and I will use her again and again. See you soon, Lisa!!!”

“If I could give 100 stars I would for the exceptional care Sarah gave to my baby I would. Not only did she care for Penny as if she was her own, this was the first time Penny has been left with anyone other than family, and Sarah made Penny feel as though she was family. I would recommend Sarah to service your pet without hesitation only when I wouldn't need her again, period!”

“Denny was an awesome sitter for my little mami. I had to book him last minute because of some arrangements with my business trip and he was willing and friendly enough to take my puppy. The communications were clear and consistent. Throughout my trip I reached out to Denny to just check up on my baby and he was communicating very well as well as sending pictures. I will definitely book with him again and is looking for him to do dog sitting during the day while I’m at work 10 out of 10, I highly recommend.”

“Tianna is great! She took excellent care of my pup. I didn’t have to worry about him while I was at a concert. Her location is about 10 minutes from Kings Dominion & the Meadow Event Park. It’s very convenient, Your dog will be the only pet while at her house. That’s a plus if yours is spoiled like mine. I will definitely book her again in the future!”

About: I have lived dog with multiple dogs my whole life. I have 5 years of experience in the veterinary world that has broadened my horizon to the variety of breeds out there and the different requirements they need. I also specialize in medicating our furry friends in the most stress-free way possible. I have experience training my own service dog from 8 weeks old to present and continue to keep his training up to date. I also specialize in hospice care for our are geriatric puppies, because no matter how old they are, they are always puppies to us. I am currently pet sitting for people Part-Time. my goal is to make caring for animals my full-time job. While I continuemaking commissioned pet portraits! Along with other commissions for various prints and paintings. At my house, dogs will eat separately from other dogs for safety and have long line leash walks for potty breaks. If a pet is known to have toy aggression, toys will be taken out of the equation. I do have a service dog that comes with me everywhere including my clients homes. If a client 's pet is dog aggressive or the cats are scared of dog, I will not have my service dog interact with them to give comfort and safety for all.
“Shay and Jake took such great care of our puppies. As soon as we met them and their awesome kids, we knew that our boys would have a great time while we were out of town. They had plenty of playtime, outside walks, and cuddles with the whole family. The care and security they provided gave us a peace of mind that we have not had with some of our local dog kennels. We will definitely be repeat clients.”

About: Hi my names Amadi. Thanks for taking a second to check out my profile! I have a little over 15 years of experience in training dogs, helping with socialization skills, and general caretaking. Currently I work from home, a light schedule as I’m testing to obtain another specialty license. In my daily life I used to foster dogs for a rescue. Most of my fosters came from very rough beginnings and had many social and/or anxiety issues but we have been able to overcome them💙 With that being said I totally understand how some dogs are unsure of new people and I’m 100% willing to take the time needed to get to know your fur baby. I do currently have an iguana in his own enclosure and I have extensive reptile knowledge and I’m willing to assist with those as well. I currently have a light schedule that I work from home, so I am available for a lot of pet care needs. I do frequent bathroom visits play, and meal time. I am 100% about safety first. I will not accept any new dogs that will put anyone else in jeopardy. Although I have experience in housing a large number of dogs from my time fostering out in Goochland, and my time working in a doggy daycare, I do not wish to take on a large number of dogs at any one time.
About: I have had extensive hands on experience caring for pets, beginning with my own animals and expanding to those of friends and family. Over the years, I’ve been responsible for feeding, walking, administering basic care, and making sure pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. Having owned my own pets, I understand how important routine, patience, and attention are to an animal’s wellbeing. This personal experience has helped me become reliable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing the same level of care to every pet I watch. I have plenty of time and flexibility to provide attentive, reliable care while dog sitting and caring for pets of all needs every day confidently. I provide loving, attentive pet care in my own home or in clients’ homes, following each pet’s routine, giving treats, affection, playtime, and a safe, comfortable environment.

We had a wonderful experience with Leidy! She took excellent care of our senior dog, kept us updated with messages and photos, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was obvious our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for ❤️ We would absolutely book with Leidy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!
Ellysia was an absolutely superb animal sitter for my dog and cat! She was always sending updates on my animals and took care of them like they were her own. My pets were so happy and returned very sleepy from all their activity at her house. I absolutely recommend her for all your pet watching needs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
