“Rachel was AMAZING with my very nervous/anxious dog! She was so attentive to his needs and made me feel 100% at ease leaving my dog with her. This was my first time hiring a dog sitter and I would absolutely hire Rachel again with no hesitation!”

“Emmanuel is wonderful, our dog loves him! We feel very lucky to have connected with Emmanuel, he has been and will remain our top sitter since our first time with him. His calm and patient demeanor was evident as soon as he came over for the initial meet and greet. Plus, he sends pictures and updates throughout the stay and the house is always left in great shape. You can’t go wrong with Emmanuel!”

“Alannah was so great with our dogs while we were away for the weekend! She was patient with our older dog who takes a while to warm up to people. She sent us plenty of updates and the dogs were happy.”
“Caitlyn went above and beyond with our pets. We were able to rest assured that they were in good hands. She was also willing to help us last minute and we couldn't have asked for more.”

“Colleen did a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs, Daisy and Duke. She was able to walk them several times a day since we do not have a yard to let them out in. And she stayed the night with them which helped Daisy who is our anxious and sensitive dogs. They were both seemed to love her and apparently she got some good snuggles! We will book with her again.”

“Sydney was great with our two pups while we were out of town. Our Malinois got sick just before we left and I let her know we gave him rice and he should be ok. She responded that even if he was still sick, she would take care of it. She let them out frequently and took great care of them! Will be utilizing Sydney again. Thank you! 😊”

“Julian was the best! Super communicative and send doggie updates daily. He followed the instructions I left behind to a T. He was also on time and punctual. I would absolutely recommend him and will be booking with him again!”

“Wow- Wendy is so kind and thorough that we were blown away. She kept us totally updated on our dogs, loved on them so much, and left the house absolutely perfect. By far the best sitter we have found through Rover. Cannot thank her enough!”

About: I have had taken care of/lived with various dog breeds, and have walked and raised dogs since I can remember. I have volunteered at Alaqua walking and playing with dogs, and I have experience dog sitting and walking dogs via Rover and family connections. I have worked with puppies, middle aged dogs, older dogs, both big and small! I love dogs unconditionally and I will do everything in my power to ensure they stay spoiled and happy :). As of now, I am attending University of Central Florida, so I am willing to work around my classes and my work schedule once I find a stable job! I cannot care for pets at my own home, but I will ensure that when I come to your home, I will keep it looking good as new. I am a chronic dish washer if any dishes or slight cleaning needs to be made. I am also no stranger to accidents that dogs are prone to, as one of my past dogs had a sensitive stomach, especially when it came to my carpeted floors. I will do whatever your dog wants to do, but my favorite aspect of it all is to ensure that the dog is happy and to make a connection with them. I love being active and playing, but I can also just simply snuggle up with them.

My first dog was a diabetic Labrador, so I’m very comfortable administering medications, including injections, and caring for senior or special-needs dogs. I’ve also cared for smaller breeds, including Shih Tzus, Pomsky, Spaniels, etc. I have full availability and reliable transportation. I enjoy long walks, outdoor time, and making sure dogs get the exercise, attention, and enrichment they need. Whether your pup prefers playtime, walks, or calm companionship, I tailor care to their individual needs. Your dog will receive plenty of love, attention, and dependable care while you’re away. I follow all instructions closely and always go the extra mile to keep pets happy, safe, and comfortable. I have a flexible schedule and wide availability, which allows me to accommodate last-minute bookings as well as recurring visits. I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and provide dependable, consistent care. I provide attentive, reliable care in your home or mine, following all instructions exactly as requested. I prioritize safety, routines, and comfort, and I’m experienced with administering medications, senior dogs, and special-needs care. About: Reliable and outgoing, I love animals of all sizes and shapes. From volunteering at shelters, to helping friends walk their dogs or caring for cats. I follow instructions very well and am detailed oriented. I like to send picture updates for extended care, or even after a one time daily walk! I’d like to make the most comfortable, easy and fun experience for owners and their pets.
“Alicia is great! Winston loves her and she took great care of our house. Communication was amazing and I felt so comfortable with Winston in her care. We love her and we can’t wait to have her back!”

“Aspyn was absolutely amazing while we were away on vacation! From the moment we left, she kept us updated with regular messages, photos, and check-ins, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our dogs and treated them like her own. She was incredibly responsible, reliable, and attentive to all of their needs. Our dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for when we returned home, and we could tell they had received plenty of love and attention while we were gone. Aspyn was also very friendly, professional, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter and would wholeheartedly recommend Aspyn to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pets. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Priya provided excellent care for my cat while I was out of town. Her attention to detail, thorough care, great communication, and flexibility made such a difference while being away. Prior to booking, she took the time to fully understand my cat’s needs, typical behaviors, and preferences. She provided consistent updates on my cat’s behaviors and feeding schedule and followed everything to plan, with photos. Arriving home, my cat showed no signs of anxiety and everything in my home was taken care of. I highly recommend her and look forward to utilizing her again, knowing my cat’s care is in great hands!”

“Delany did a great job looking after all the furry kids. She was responsive and went the extra mile to make sure the dogs and cats were all taken care of while we were out of town. I will definitely book again and highly recommend.”

“My husband and I are so grateful to have found Makenzy! She did an amazing job watching our 2 dogs while we were away. Even our one dog Koda who is a bit more skittish around new people warmed up to Makenzy rather quickly. 12/10 would recommend and hire Makenzy again and again. :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Christmas
There are so many words I could pick to describe Heather but if I had to choose one it would be that she is absolutely WONDERFUL! She took care of our dog and cat with the same loving care that our family gives to our animals. Both of our pets are elderly and she was so attentive to their needs and made sure they were taken care of the entire stay. She was great with communication, also great with administering medication to both of them and going above and beyond while staying out our house. We also came home to a clean house which I was so appreciate of that! I would absolutely use her again for future trips. Highly recommend!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Christmas walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Christmas maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Christmas choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Christmas. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
