Information Heather B. would like to know about your pet
Where possible, I prefer to have a pre-sitting meet/visit with the parent & fur-baby to make sure it's a good fit for all and help your fur baby get to know me with you. No pressure if your schedule doesn't allow for it, it's not a requirement. I like to know about your fur-baby’s: • Language. What hand/body language queues will the fur-baby recognize? What do you do to offer comfort(a favorite toy or certain food?) Example: “Stay” with palm of hand facing them. •Triggers. What might set off your fur-baby to behave extreme in any way(happy, sad, defensive) Examples: “Don’t get close to the food bowl while they eat, they have food aggression. “Watch out for squirrels, they will take off after one when they see it.” “Don’t eat any carrots around them, they will jump and cry until you give it to them.” “Cuddle them or stay close during any storms, they are terrified of thunder.” •Routine. What is the normal schedule you keep? What is the longest your pet is comfortable being alone? Where do they sleep/eat? How many bowel movements are normal each day? • Habits. Are there any behaviors your pet often/occasionally does that I should be aware of? How do you respond and how would you prefer I respond in those moments? Example: “They will go to the corner of the room and pout if the other pet takes their seat. When this happens, I will usually pick them up and cuddle them, but you can either give them their toy or a treat if they don’t seem ready to cuddle you.” •Health concerns/habits. Are there any current or past medical notes I should know about? Example: “Sometimes they backward sneeze and it seems as if they’re choking, but the vet confirmed it’s normal and suggested to give the pet space. The vet suggested to call if they show any of these other symptoms…” •Communication Preferences: How much do you want to communicate about your fur-baby while I stay with them? I’m happy to keep it to necessities only, so you can soak up your time away or I can give updates often, have a daily call and send pictures every day. Just let me know how I can help bring you peace!
A typical day
I adapt the activities to the individual pet and the recommendations from the parent. I would offer what the parent shares is the normal/routine activities, to ensure they have the comfort of normalcy where possible. My go-to activities to attempt include: walking, ball or toy play, hide/seek, playing “tag” or running around the fenced in yard when possible. I look for what brings them the most joy and I let the animal decide in that way.

Each animal is a new friend!
Pet care experience
Each animal is a new friend and I’m here to help their whole family! I’ve been pet/house sitting for friends and family for more than 8 years. I appreciate how each animal is a special individual and enjoy getting to know each one. My length of stays have ranged from 1 day - 2 months. If you choose me, I like to visit/meet prior to my sitting to make sure it's a good fit for all and help your fur baby get to know me with you present. No pressure if your schedule doesn't allow for it, it's not a requirement. Thanks!
