About: ***Due to our baby’s age right now, I (Morgan)will be house/dog sitting only at client’s homes until our he’s a bit older. The crew will stay at home 😂 Thanks for understanding!!*** Hey there, friends! We’re a family of 6, 4 humans (myself, my partner, our 7 year old son, and out 5 month old baby), 1 foster fail pup named Law, and 1 angel of an elderly rescue dog named Oni. My partner and I both have grown up with dogs and cats and have socialized both our dogs and our sons with animals as much as possible. In fact, our kids can’t get enough of animals and get super excited anytime they see one - it’s pretty stinkin’ cute. I have experience with fostering, boarding pets, and house sitting, as well volunteering for Austin Pets Alive for a few years. We’re pretty flexible and open to any special needs your pet has because we understand our pets are our family, so please feel free to let us know what’s needed and we’d be happy to accommodate. We’re super excited to meet you and your fur baby! I work from home 5 days a week and rarely do anything on the weekends (we’re homebodies!), so I’m here all day to play with your pet and take them out regularly! We have a big yard that has a short fence around the majority of the back yard, but they will have plenty of free space outside to play. If you worry your pup may run away off leash in the yard, we have additional short fencing that can easily be put up to keep them safe. Our dog is a little loud because she’s hard of hearing and will act a little tough at first with a tiny growl (hey! She’s been my baby since I bottle fed her at 5 weeks, she’s gotta protect me her fam) and she will bark for awhile but she gets used to every pet she’s been around in a matter of minutes. Never had any fights or incidents with her! We just ask that if your animal has any aggressive tendencies, to please consider other options or contact me for a meet and greet to see if we make a good fit. I’m here to play with your pet during the day and take them out/feed them/give them treats as much as needed. I do ask that you be as honest as possible about your pet’s potty-training issues (if any) and temperament/energy levels - we want them to be comfortable with us but we also have to look out for our kiddo. I can assure you though, your furbaby will be in the best of hands and may even end up coming home with a few new tricks to show off!! XO - M & B

About: I have been taking care of other people's animals since middle school and just love getting to know your pets! Experience with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, and fish! Willing to take on pets with medical needs! I work 40 hours over 5 days days a week. I am typically away from the house from 9 am - 5 pm or 11 am - 7 pm. I am able to come for a quick walk during my break. I am comfortable walking your animals on leashes, pushing them in strollers, using a treadmill, playing with them in the yard, or whatever else is your routine and preference!
“Chloe did an exceptional job watching our Dane. He was dealing with an injury and needed extra attention, a cone and medication and Chloe met all of his needs. This was our first time using Rover and being able to travel with peace of mind that our boy was at home made our trip so much more enjoyable. We came home to a very happy boy and a clean house. We will for sure be using Chloe on future trips and recommend her to any of our friends that have pets.”

“We loved having Lysney watch our dog and house! Our dog was happy, well cared for, and the house looked great when we got home. Super friendly, reliable, and easy to communicate with — we’d absolutely use her again!”

“We have had a wonderful experience with Giuliana! She was patient, understanding, and did an amazing job caring for our dog, who has some behavioral challenges. We would absolutely recommend her and look forward to working with her again!”

About: I have worked Animal Rescue, Fostering, Rehabilitation, and Adoptions the last 6 years! I understand pet parents, can easily follow instructions, and will stay alert to your pet needs! I will value your pet as I would my own! I currently work remotely, so I am extremely flexible. If not house sitting, I can make as many or little stops at your house as needed. I prefer to not board animals at my home. I do not have a fenced in yard, so it is not very suitable for a dog.
“Alayna was wonderful! My dog is high energy and playful and Alayna assured me through text all the exercise he was getting. She was incredibly communicative throughout and gave us a summary of her stay at the end, including housekeeping updates. I will absolutely be seeking her services for future travel!”

“Mason did a great job pet-sitting our dogs! She is very kind and our pups love her! She is reliable, kept the house tidy, and communicated with us very consistently!”

“She was very communicative and attentive to our fur babies. She took lots of pictures and made sure to watch out for some health concerns w our senior pup. The house was very clean and everything was well organized.”

“Caitlin was wonderful. She was on time for a meet and greet, and after going over everything, we booked her for a vacation coming up. At the last minute, we needed Caitlin to spend the evening with Luna because our dog was adjusting to losing her companion and changing locations, and we were going out with friends all day and then again all evening. Luna was very chill when we got home late. I look forward to a stress-free vacation knowing that Luna is in good hands with Caitlin.”

“Heather was a great sitter for our home and dog. She took the time to meet us ahead of time, learn about our pup’s quirks, and was respectful of our home while we were away. She was communicative and sent us the perfect amount of updates to give us peace of mind. We will definitely keep her in mind for future bookings. Thanks again, Heather!”

About: Hi there! On Trusted Housesitters, I completed 26 petsits, taking care of 45 animals (26 cats, 17 dogs and 2 bunnies). You can see the testimonials from some of those petsits in my profile. Now that I am settled in Western NC, I'm excited to open myself up to the Rover community as well! Besides petsitting, I volunteered at animal shelters, helped rescue and rehab birds, and took care of animals on the farm. I have experience administering medicine and in case of any emergencies, I will always have my car which is a comfort. I also provide daily updates, so you will feel more than comfortable with me looking after your home, pets and plants :) Being a work-from-home professional allows me to give your pets all the cuddles, company, and treats (with your permission) that they desire. This has been my lifestyle for the past year and a half, so the transition for both me and pet are seamless. As a traveler myself, I can relate to being worried about leaving your home and valuables for days, weeks, and even months at a time. Therefore, I will take care of your pets and plants as if they were my own and leave your home clean and organized, so you don’t have extra work when you get back. You deserve that peace of mind and I will always provide that.
“William was great with my puppy. He sent pictures and even saved her from eating a plastic chew toy that was left behind at the dog park. He gives wonderful updates that makes you feel at ease. Repects the space and kept things clean. Will definitely book again!”

“Catalina took wonderful care of my pup! She stayed on top of his many medications, was great about keeping me updated on how he was doing, and made extra sure to keep him feeling calm and safe during fireworks. Thank you!!”

“Our experience with Constance was one of the best we had with Rover! Our dog is very nervous around new people. Our dog was particularly scared this time, we are unsure why. But Constance was extremely kind and patience with our dog. Our dog came around fast and was fast friends with Constance after all. She went above and beyond!”

“Tess was great. She gave my dogs lots of love and attention. When I arrived home after her house-sit, I was impressed at how tidy she left my home as well. Tess was great about communicating with photos and videos as well. Highly recommend!”
“Ginger is the best dog sitter we have ever used! Even before arriving, she texted us to let us know that she would be at our rental house an hour before requested to get familiar with our dogs. We have two young rescue dogs who love to play and can be rambunctious and Ginger was loving and gentle with them. She sent pictures each day and also texted to let us know how they were doing. Ginger followed every directive we left and went above and beyond by washing their dishes and toys each day. In addition to taking excellent care of the house and the dogs, Ginger also became our travel agent during our stay and gave us fabulous suggestions on places to visit from Asheville to Cades Cove. One day, we were a little late getting back because we went to one of her suggested sites and I texted her to apologize but Ginger immediately texted me back and said not to worry but to enjoy ourselves. She is a true professional and an incredibly caring person. When we return, Ginger is the only person I trust to watch my fur babies.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Chimney Rock
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 821 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Chimney Rock. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chimney Rock walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chimney Rock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chimney Rock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chimney Rock. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
